Personality

General Traits

Manipulative: Sintra’s most defining trait is how she’s rarely not acting to manipulate the people around her, always trying to twist them to her own ends, either because they won’t do what she wants normally or because they wouldn’t go far enough for what she wants.

Self-Serving And Power Hungry: While Sintra likes to portray herself as someone always working for the good of Idalos, the reality is that she only cares about expanding her own influence and power over others. She will make no move that doesn’t benefit her.

Cruel And Abusive: Sintra only cares about how others can serve her, and will do whatever it takes to break their wills to her own. To this end, she’s often cruel and either physically, verbally, or emotionally abusive and manipulative to those that follow her, so as to erode their own wills and identity and make them into better vessels for her own will.

Secretive: Sintra never tells anyone her full plans or the true extent of her knowledge or operations. Even those that are nominally the closest to her, such as her daughter or Champions, are only told what parts of her reach and schemes she deems it necessary for them to know.

Strengths

Master Manipulator: Sintra’s ability to manipulate people and use them for her own ends is all but unparalleled, and she doesn’t even need to lie to do it, as she can control people as easily with the truth as with a falsehood.

Arachnid Body: Sintra’s lower body being an arachnid gives it a great deal of strength and durability, as well as the venom in her stinger. This arachnid body provides the vast bulk of her strength in a direct fight.

Spies And Informers: Between her ability to control arachnids like spiders and scorpions, the vast network of informants that either willingly serve her or that she has manipulated into reporting to her, and her own personal means of gathering information, there are very things that can be hidden from Sintra for long.

Weaknesses

Complexity Addiction: Sintra simply cannot do things in a simple and straightforward way and will add unnecessary layers of complexity and detail to her schemes because she can’t stop herself from doing so.

Brute Force Monster: Sintra dislikes directly involving herself in physical violence, and when forced to fight, she fights less like an intelligent schemer and more like a simple-minded monster, preferring to rely on the power of her arachnid form than on martial skill.

Abuser’s Arrogance: Like most abusers, Sintra is genuinely shocked when those she thought under her thumb act outside of her wishes. The biggest case of this was Labrae’s plan to save Ellasin from her rogue Necromancy Spark, something that Sintra genuinely had no knowledge of or involvement in.

Personality and Verbal Tics

Hidden Spider: Sintra tends to stay hidden in the shadows when dealing with others, letting the skittering of her many legs where they can’t see put them on edge, making it easier for her to get inside their heads.

Deliberately Creepy: Sintra likes to unnerve people, as it often leaves them more open to her manipulations. Because of this, she deliberately adopts many creepy or unsettling mannerisms, even towards those that are more aware she’s doing it on purpose.

Background Schemer: As much as possible, Sintra prefers to rule her people from the shadows. She never takes direct and open control of anything, but instead prefers to control her operations from the shadows where it’s harder to trace any of her evil directly to her.

Megalomania: Sintra lives to control and manipulate others, and there is no greater thrill to her than knowing she has absolute control over the life of another. The other person doesn’t even have to be aware of it, for she delights in her own power more than in others knowledge of it.

History

Not even the other Immortals know much about Sintra, as the webspinner was reclusive, secretive, and manipulative from the moment she was inflicted upon the world by Cierel, who is believed to be the only one who truly knew Sintra to any degree. Because of this secrecy, none know where she was when the Original Eight fell to their own desire to create, or what she was doing when humanity was discovered. But all know of the lingering fear that has pervaded Idalos since she first began to wrap the mortals of Idalos up in her webs, for only the greatest and most terrible of the Immortals, Faldrun, Audrae, and Lisirra, are more feared by mortals.

Despite this fear, there is still little known of her actions, only their effects. It is only once the dust settles and her aim is achieved that people sense the hand of the Webspinner in these actions. The death of a single mortal, the survival of another, the signing of an agreement, the loss or securing of a treasure. In these small ways the Webspinner completes her plans to control the lives of mortals who will come to influence the future of Idalos.

In all her plans there only two who can claim to know the full extent of her schemes, her daughter Labrae and the renegade son of Vri, Kielik. Labrae was born through the bargained aid of Syroa. None know the identity of her father, as Sintra killed the man after Labrae's birth, and bathed infant mortalborn in his blood to cleanse her of the weaknesses of mortality. Kielik joined her soon after his mother died, seeking an outlet for his madness.

Despite her secretive nature, Sintra has on occasion clashed with the other Immortals. An attempt to insert spies into Sirothelle's upper echelon led to a battle with Faldrun, an attempt to poison the minds of the Naerikk against Audrae led to a clash between them, an attempted poisoning of an infant Valtharn lead to Raskalarn exterminating Sintra's forces in the Eternal Empire, and an attempt to murder head the of the Order of Lighting lead to a clash with Ilaren. Her most consistent opponents are her own sister, Lisirra, who is never fooled by her schemes, and Ethelynda, for the honest nature of the Ithecal makes it difficult for Sintra to penetrate their island Kingdom of Yithiral.

Appearance

From the waist up, Sintra appears as a bleached white human with blood red eyes and midnight black hair, at first glance most closely resembling Ethelynda. But, in another similarity to The Noble Serpent, Sintra's human features end at her waist. In place of human legs, Sintra has the body and legs of a massive spider with the pincers and tail of a scorpion.

Memories of the Past

Sintra remembers Cierel. This is all she has ever said of her creator, for even after Cierel's death does Sintra keep her secrets.

Presently

None know the location or current activities of the Webspinner, only that they are varied, long running, and deeply hidden amongst the machinations of the other Immortals.
