This is a place to find terms which you might come across.

Calendars, Time, Etc

• 1 second = 1 trill.
• 1 minute = 1 bit.
• 1 hour = 1 break.
• 1 day = 1 trial.
• 1 week = A seventrial
• 10 days = A tentrial
• Cycle = There are 3 Cycles in an Arc
• Season = There are 2 Seasons in every Cycle
  • The Rebirth Cycle - Cylus and Ashan are the seasons to begin the arc.
  • The Hot Cycle: - Made up of Ymiden and Saun.
  • The Cold Cycle: Vhalar and Zi'da round out the year.

Magic Jargon

• Arcanavores - A Revealed mage that has Flayed too many people and turned crazy because of it.
• Disciplines - The different types of magic in the world. See Magic Disciplines
• Domains - A Domain is a sphere of influence over a part of the world. They are all-encompassing, so for example, the Domain of Sadness includes all sadness felt by all things capable of feeling sadness at that moment. Immortals have control over domains, which have no true limit in their size or scale. Sparks, as pieces of the Original Beings, follow this law.
• Ether - A powerful energy that originates from Emea. Primarily used by mages in domain magic. .
• Fracture - A tear in the fabric of the world, bridging the gaps between Idalos and Emea. It allows beings and energy to pass from Emea into Idalos, and more rarely, from Idalos into Emea.
• Mutation - Unique changes to a mages body, mind or magic.
• Practices Skills that work in a similar way to, or can be used alongside magic, but are not magic, and do not require an initiation or create mutations.
• Spark - A living shard of the Original Beings, the creators of the Immortals, willingly attached to the soul of mages in a symbiotic relationship.
• Revelations - A powerful transformation that happens when the mage and their Spark merge together, becoming one being. This only happens when the mage and their Spark have a perfect relationship.
• Starved Ones - A mage that has Flayed too many people and turned crazy because of it.
• Wells - Crystallized, solid ether. They grow inside Fractures, much like stalagmites grow inside caves.
• Witchbrand - A specific magical "mark" placed upon every mage when they start a particular Domain magic. All mages of that Domain share that specific mark.

Racial Jargon

• The Occult - The secret cult of spies and assassins, made up exclusively of Aukari and entirely devoted to their god, Faldrun. Every Aukari in Sirothille is expected to either work for the Occult, or help the rest of the city with menial tasks.
• Ose-bori - Spirits that befriended the souls of the Sev'ryn murdered by Lisirra, before Moseke revived them. They are now permanently bound to the souls of the Sev'ryn, and must seek each-other out for companionship, acting as familiars.
