Magic Mutations Rorom Nji'Ihai

Defiance

Spark Theme & Persona

Theme: Collaboration

Spark Persona: The Caller: The Caller urges Rorom to get in touch with the elements. As such, Calling is one of the more prominent techniques that the Caller tends to favor, as it directly aligns with how it wishes to evolve with its host. Forceful manipulation of the elements is something the Caller frowns upon. Overall, the Caller wishes Rorom to go with the flow, and is much more effective when channeling directly from existing elemental sources and less effective when conjuring elements. The Caller delights in communication with elemental spirits, and will tend to encourage Rorom to seek out these beings..

Witchmark

When the light hits Rorom's skin, it shines in distorted patterns, as if shining through rippling water.

Mutations

Competent

Aquatic Respite

Rorom will have trouble sleeping unless he's immersed in water. Whether it be in a bath tub, in a lake, or any other body of water, he can only get true restful sleep while immersed in water. When he awakens and removes himself from the water, he will feel fully refreshed. He won't experience any of the deleterious effects of prolonged immersion in water that people ordinarily do, and aquatic predators and parasites will tend to leave him alone while he's resting. While resting in water, the water will keep him elevated above the surface, so that he can breathe. Partial immersion is all that's needed in order to attain Aquatic Respite. [Approval]

Expert

Elemental Magnetism

When Rorom comes into contact with the elements, they will tend to gravitate and stick towards him. Earth will cling to the soles of his feet, to the point where they build a pair of muddy boots. Water will cling to his skin and clothes after a swim. Wind will sweep through his body and around, without much hindrance. And fire will tend to dance in strange patterns as it burns near him. Exerting deference can lessen the instance of this mutation, while it makes techniques such as embrace easier to employ as the elements are attracted to Rororm. [Approval]

Master

Voice of the Elements

When Rorom speaks, depending on his mood it will contain a character that reflects that of the elements. For instnace, when he's violently angry, his voice will crack against the air like a hot fire. When he's feeling happy, his voice will effervesce like air through water. When he's being stern, his voice will land with the gravity of stone. Additionally, the way his voice manifests will carry farther over an element that it resonates with. [Approval]

Elemental Visage Rorom's hair or sovereign substance of Visage will begin to take on elemental properties, depending on whichever element he's manipulating at a given moment or else depending on mood. For instance, when his mood is urgent or angry or tempestuous or in an urgent mood, the tips of his beard may burn with the heat of fire. When calm, his beard may turn into watery strands that sway with the breeze. When he's busy or manic, his beard may take on a ethereal quality of wind and stretch and move about. When he's being stubborn, his beard may take on the solid form of stone. He doesn't have conscious control over the elemental visage, unless he also has control over his emotions through meditation/discipline. When not channeling magic, his hair will take on the appearance of the refinement of two of his kin elements. This makes it possible to use his hair as an elemental source, for purposes of manipulation. [Approval]

Becoming

Spark Theme & Persona

Theme: Oceanic Metamorphosis

Persona: Vagrant of the Sea: Rorom's becoming spark tends to prefer forms that are at home on the water, and in particular on the sea. Whether limiting his diet to taking sustenance from the sea and no other source, or taking forms specifically that dwell in or near water, it will encourage him to mold to these forms in more or less subtle ways. Potentially, it might lead to mutations that lock him in to aquatic forms or forms of other families that dwell on the water.

Witchmark

A colorful tattoo forms along the back of his right hand, wrist, and forearm. It shows a series of tattoos showing the three sovereign substances of each totem belonging to Rorom in close proximity. Potentially, if he acquired enough totems, the tattoo could spread over his entire arm and into his torso.

Mutations

Competent

Pescatarian

Rorom can only gain true sustenance from aquatic life. Whether it be kelp, fish, or other forms of organic life that dwells in the water, he will only find true sustenance from aquatic sources of nutrition. This doesn't affect his drinking habits, however. When, at expert, he develops the technique Feed, he will find his use of the technique grants him more ether when used on animals that belong to the aquatic family and less ether from other families. [Approval]

Expert

Transformative Waters: When transforming into or from any totem that isn't a self-totem, the spark requires that Rorom be at least partially immersed in water when he undertakes a transformation. This doesn't come without advantages, as it cuts the amount of time needed to transform by about half. The technique of Unleash, as a result, costs half as much when immersed in water as well.
