Sophist's Guile
Sophist's Guile is a custom ability granted to Woe by Lovalus following the Siege of Storm's Edge. Approval
- When all else fails and emotional or psychological repair seems unattainable for an individual it is possible for Woe to wash away the memory of all trauma, whether perceived or actual, or actions which are regretted, allowing a person to begin their life from a new perspective.
- This ability must be done only with the permission of the target and both must be in agreement that this is the right path.
- Woe must place their hands on the target and will begin reshaping their emotional Tangle, repairing broken threads and even replacing missing ones.
- This rebirth can include a number of personality alterations, limited only by the recipient's desire and imagination.
- The target will remember the more minor hurts they suffered, as well as the cause, but their memories of their worst experiences shall be fuzzy, like they can’t quite ever remember them.
- This does not mean that those memories cannot one day be recovered, although they will never have the same emotional impact or trauma associated with them. It can even cure one of soul-level afflictions, such as the flaying addiction of a mage, or the Fraying of a failed Empathy initiation.
- Anything shy of a Champion's Mark ability, a Revealed Empath, or a Condemned level curse can be cured.
- Sophist's Guile offers the recipient a fresh start, and should never be used without carefully considering all other options first.
- This ability may be used three times a Cycle, but can only be used once per individual pc.
