Starter Quest

Sometimes while taking an early morning stroll along the harbor of Scalvoristown, Mab could swear she hears something. At first, it may be dismissed as her imagination, or a strange as yet unknown bird to her, but eventually it dawns on her that it isn't a sound she's hearing... But a feeling a sensation. At first, it appears it might be her attunement spark trying to get an errant frequency, but when she tries to use the magic to sense what might be standing out, the information that returns is inconclusive.

The next morning, while taking a walk along the same harbor, she notices something out of the corner of her eye, something in the water. It's one of her... a mer! But this one looks far less human-like than she does. Its head is monstrous and bulbous, greenish and blue, and its eyes are dark black. It's then that she realizes the mer was speaking to her, through their peculiar telepathy. The large mer, a female by what Mab can tell, calls her into the water, inviting her. Will she answer, or will she resist the curiosity and stay where she is?

(Starter quests are meant to be a potential jumping-off point for inspiration for your new character. You're not obliged to write about it at all. That said, have fun!)
