Epidemiology
Discovered By:
Brief Description:
Well, she started to think about things and she came to the conclusion that disease has patterns in its spread and who it hits. That being the case, she decided that knowing about this would help doctors to prevent illness. So, she went to the University and asked them to start teaching it as a subject.
She teaches that diseases have patterns and happen in particular places, to particular races, for particular reasons. Faith has started mapping the incidence and spread of disease, considering everything she can from geology to gender, plant life to race being impacted. She doesn't call it Epidemiology, she calls it the Demography of Disease.

Threads
I'm just going to put all of this together here. Because the discovery very much isn't over - and there wasn't a moment where she discovered it, because it's different for each disease.
- In my hands ~ Faith goes to the Order of the Adunih and starts to investigate Lightbane. She is growing frustrated with how little they know about who gets it and how it is transferred. So, she decides that she's going to take action.
- Patterns ~ Having persuaded Galena to start to keep records, Faith approached the University and gets the backing of Professor Carter for a new topic of study: epidemiology. She puts together a proposal for the Dean and has to wait to find out if it's going to be accepted.
- Careful What you Wish For ~ Faith gets her answer from the Dean, which is yes. More than that, he offers her a job.
- Power Dynamic ~ Faith starts her work as an Associate Professor of Medicine with a focus on patterns of disease and incurable diseases
Additional Threads
The threads for lightbane and the rot are very much all involved in this. Other examples are for her charter and the visitors from Viden (linked in The Raft. Also, when people come to her office - there is a very clear mention constantly of maps on the walls with overlays of the spread of diseases.
