Book Title: A Spark of Ingenuity: Science and Arcane, the Meeting of Divine Power and Mortal Knowledge
Author: Conselhart (first name: unknown)
Widely available: No
Age: The first copy of this book became available at the Andaris library in the arc 617. It was rumored to have been in use for 10 arcs before that at the Rynmere University.
Famous for:
  • Likening the initiation of a domain user to the starting of a fire within a person.
  • Raising a set of unanswered questions regarding magic and its use.
  • Having very few public copies for such a famous book.
  • Having various off shoot books who claim to answer the questions brought up by Conselhart.
  • A rumor that the dean of Rynmere University is jealously guarding a secret tome with all the answers to Conselhart's book.
About the Book: A spark of Ingenuity is most well known for raising questions on the topic of magic and its place in the world. As the title hints, Conselhart questions whether magic is a mortal device brought into existence to try to equal the immortals or if it is a gift from somewhere (Conselhart goes out of his way not to attribute this directly to an Immortal or the Original Beings) to give mortals a chance at survival. The book makes very few direct statements, instead leaving it up to the reader to interpret the words as they see them. In the book, the chapter on initiation draws the most attention and has sparked a still ongoing debate whether or not becoming a magic user is a good event by comparing the initiation process of a magic user with the starting of a fire. While the writings within this book are mostly focused on raising questions with the reader rather than teach or explain magic to them, Conselhart's book is considered mandatory reading by most professors at the Rynmere University who teach theoretical magic classes.
About the author: Apart from the writings in this book, nothing is known about the author. The book officially turned up at the university about 60 arcs ago as an unpublished volume and was published by them about 10 arcs later. Neither the first name or race of the author is known. It is not even known whether the writer was male or female.

Book Title: A treaties on strategy and war
Author: Unknown (attributed to H. Warrick or R. burhan)
Widely available: No
Age: Thought to have been written after the events of Arc 321
Famous for:
  • Having no copies, only the original is kept in the Andaris Library under the watchful eye of Alana Aberdeen. It is kept in a locked full glass case.
  • Rumored to have been a rewrite of an older tome on war.
  • Being a constant source of argument between people from Warrick and people from Burhan.
  • Being only available under the watchful eye of Alana Aberdeen herself and only for limited breaks per trial.
About the Book: The book is a combination of basic tactics in war, strategies in combat, formations for different types of armies and training exercises. While it doesn't teach anything new or interesting for most interested parties, the book is both a great starter for new strategists, commanders and any military personnel in commanding positions and a reminder for veterans. The build up of the book is as such: Building strategies, completing strategies with tactics, army types, combination armies and finally training exercises for soldiers to get used to them. While most information available in the book is basic, it describes everything in near perfect detail with a step by step process on devising strategies, pros and cons listed for each tactic listed and crude but clear drawings of equipment for each army type as well as strengths and weaknesses for them. Some of the listed equipment has been surpassed with more recent advancements in technology but are easily transformed to modern warfare and technology. The training exercises at the end seem to be a later addendum as both the writing style and calligraphy are different but keep with the well informed tradition of the previous chapters.
About the author: The author of the book is not known but many Andarians (Especially the people from Warrick) attribute the writings in it to H. Warrick, War General to Lord Andaris and first of his name.
