Discovering secrets

If a flora/fauna entry says that there are secrets to be discovered about the plant/animal (eg. here), is discovering them a matter of getting mod input on the discovery thread, or is it a matter of making up the discoveries as you write/selfmod the thread?

Mod Input is usually required for any secrets. However you can pitch specific secrets if you have your heart set on a specific thing. Of course it's the moderator's discretion whether that's the case or not, but you can make suggestions.
