Welcome to the Iulure Isles.

Like with all cultures food and how it is prepared is an expression of the culture that has created it. The islands is limited to those items that existed before it was brought into the sky. Luckily for the later inhabitants there were a few Shay settlements that had brought such things as sheep cattle, wheat, rice and other food stuff.

The traditional source of food for the first inhabitants where fowls. Because of this many traditional dishes are focused around fowl. Though many more modern dishes have moved focus towards cattle and sheep. Fowl is more common outside of the large cities where people are able to still catch the birds or even raise the birds. Beef and Lamb are now the more prevalent meats supplied to the city dwelling populations. Exotic meets from the monsters that inhabit some of the islands are also sought after but usually are a sign of wealth, or of great hunting skills. Chickens have never been on the islands.

The islands naturally had plenty of vegetables, fruits, grains and growing things. Large tracks of land have since been converted to fields for food production. The main stable is rice, which do to the cloud overs and dampness of the island grows well. Vegetables are usually mixed into a stew/gravy that is then poured across the rice. Which is served with the meat of choice. Bread is common as well, but it is always flatbreed as the Iulure isle don't have yest. Fruits are considered a dessert food at any meal.

Fish is an extremely rare as only a few of the bodies of water on the different isles have fish. Some of the monsters that are hunted are sea creatures that were altered when the isle rose into the air. So to any stranger it might appear as if they do serve sea food.
