The world was rushing around as the Order was finish the last of the set up for opening of the hospital. Genna moved with a determined pace as she went through the list she had prepared. Making sure that everything would be ready for the opening. The young woman always found it amusing when people said they wanted something simple. Simple just didn’t exist in this context. Unless one want to literally just open the doors and say to people come on in. Genna amended that thought, as she looked at the list in her hand. The bulk of the list actually wasn’t related to the ceremony itself. It has making sure the final touches were arranged on the administrative part of the hospital.
Faith had done a wonderful job organizing the structure of the hospital so Genna was aware of what was to be done, but people were people and things could go wrong, or be forgotten. The young blond healer was actually glad things were so well organized cause it made things less difficult. Thinking of Faith Genn frowned. She was supposed to be here by now for this. As master mind of this project as well as being head of the order the opening of this hospital was her honor. Her not being here or a note not having arrived seemed like a bad omen to the healer.
She walked into one of the offices and saw others who had received assignments waiting. Genna joined them. They each had assignments in preparations. Genna blinked and checked the time. They had time but things were beginning to creep up on them. As head of the Rharne branch Genna had seniority here but she looked around one more time to see if she could see Faith. No she wasn’t there. The blond young woman frowned but stepped forward and said. “Has anyone see Faith?” There was a general mummer but the end result was a no. “Well does anyone have any concerns, anything they need help with.” Genna listened as a few last minutes surprises were brought up. She nodded her head and made a few directions that were phrased as suggestions. Once those concerns had been addressed the various men and women who ran specific departments raced to make there last minute preparations for the opening.
Genna soon found herself alone in the office. She was frowning again. Walking over to the desk she rummaged through the neat stacks to see if there was a note or message from Faith. The sapphire eyed young woman looked calm and composed, but that was only through habit. She was also aware that Faith had and could be drawn away for any number of reasons at the last minute, but something just seemed off about this particular timing.
Genna looked up as a person rushed into the office. Genna maintain her composure as the blue clock rushed into the room. The man was young, but he looked exhausted. His eyes were wide and wild, and Genna could tell that he was on the verge of panicking. His clothing was skewed and clearly hadn’t been chosen to wear for a big event. Genna moved around the desk and walked forward, worried about the man. Before she could do anything he rushed forward and grabbed her shoulders. “I have to talk to who every is in charge.” He said. Genna could tell that he was in shock.
“How about you sit down.” Genna said calmly even as the man squeezed her arm.
“No I need to talk to who ever is in charge.” He said again.
“How about you tell me.” Genna said smiling calmly.
“Are you in charge.” He asked.
“Yes.” Genna said as she felt his grip loosen and she pushed towards one of the chairs. “Can I get your name?”
“I am Nason I work in Eglium. It was terrible. They came in the night. They attacked in the night.” He said as Genna successed at getting him into a seat. Someone poked their head in. Genna mouthed ‘In shock’ to the blue cloak. They nodded. ‘I will get some tea.’ They mouthed back. Genna turned back and checked the man’s vitals as he kept talking about attacking in the night. She was able to collect that he was trying to tell her a story, and she gathered that Pirates had attacked Eglium in the middle of the night. Genna expressed her concerns and made a mental note to send help once things were cleared here.
“Then it happened.” He said and grabbed her wrists. “They killed her.”
Genna paused. “Killed who?” She asked.
“Faith was killed.” Then man seemed to collapse at that point. “I have this letter.” He said pulling out the a letter. Genna paused at the man’s statement but then took the letter.
“Lets get you taken care of.” Genna said as the other blue cloak came in with the tea. “Nason is dealing with shock, and I think a panic attack.” The young woman nodded her head. Genna slipped out of the office and took the letter.
To the heads of the Order of the Adunih.
I am sorry, but I have to say that Faith died last night while defending Eglium. Woe is also bed ridden as a results of attack. I don’t have all of the details but it appears that there were multiple attacks on Scalvoris. We are helping as well as we can, but more help would be appreciated.
Jen, Gold cloak of Eglium.
Genna’s hand didn’t shake but there was a small gasp of breath. She leaned against the wall as she felt her knees becoming weaker. Her mind was struggling with the news of the letter. She could understand why the young man Nason was in shock. Genna wasn’t in shock but she wanted to be in denial. She could also feel the grief building up inside of her. She breathed deeply trying to keep the grief under control. Once Genna would have buried the grief. Not anymore, but she knew that right now she didn’t have time for grief. There was stuff to be done. Grief could certainly come and would come. Genna fought and after a few moments, and a number of tears she found herself under control. This hospital needed to be opened and its services already needed to be used.
