Cylus Snow

This is a tracker for the Weather Events from 2nd – 10th Cylus in Scalvoris. Please see the Calendar if you are unsure of that that is.

Any thread where you impact NPCs during that snow storm or beyond – be it getting trapped in the middle of the storm, helping out the Elements, protecting your elderly neighbour, or taking advantage of the weather to steal some things from closed shops – please post them here, with the code below.

These can be posted at the same time as you post up your review request OR when the thread has started and all participants have posted at least once. Please note that they’re open to modbombing!

This tracker will be open for first two months of this Cycle (Feb 1st – April 1st 2023) - If you have threads which are ongoing in this plot in the last week of March, please post here and give me a summary of what you’re doing and how far you’ve gotten.

Please – for this event – no placeholders to be carried over, as it will have big impacts. Anyone who wants to follow this event after 1st April 2023 will be able to, but I will do an announcement around that time which gives the consequences of this event to the whole island – so what you can write about after that will be limited to stuff which falls within those confines.

Also – please note that this is “kill you” weather.

PC Role in this: Woe is an observer of the prophecy, as is his NPCs.

Brief summary of what’s going on: Lacrima tells a prophecy for Navnea, telling her of a great snowstorm coming that will threaten many homes, and that she can enrich herself through this. She will have to choose however, her own family's life or her own. It may be that Lacrima misunderstood that point in the bones, and that Navnea has to choose between helping herself, and helping Lacrima. That's what I'll end up going with I think.
What impact are you hoping this thread will have? Not sure. It might give Woe a fright when he sees snow falling on the 2nd day, but doesn't give him any reason to believe its true before then.
How prepared is your PC and how likely to survive in this weather? It'll just give him an initiative bonus perhaps when the snow does appear and does accumulate.

Oh awesome stuff!! You do indeed have an "initiative bonus" - Lacrima wakes him up 2 hours before the snow starts and is insistent that he has to help the people - and is also insistent that Woe gets as many people as possible getting out and warning people - getting prepared it seems. It turns out that what Navnea has to choose is whether to risk herself or not, because Lacrima wants everyone to go out and warn folks but Navnea is worried that she's going to be in danger out there.

Brief summary of what’s going on: We created a food source that can offer high nutrition. It was intended to help during the long cold seasons, warming people and feeding them.
What impact are you hoping this thread will have?: I would expect this might make those that got some of these ready for the cold season's lives easier as they would not be required to find as much food? Reducing exposure risks and starvation.

Brief summary of what’s going on: - The snow has just started. Vega goes into "lets get organised" mode - Jasper's wife Astra starts having contractions... lawkes!
What impact are you hoping this thread will have? - This thread will be the beginning / opening up of the Sweetsong response to the snow.
How prepared is your PC and how likely to survive in this weather? Very prepared - she's GM Fieldcraft and has a specific capstone which helps Sweetsong be prepared. Camps she makes are prepared against the cold and other weather stuff.

	Since this is just an opener, there's not much I can add to it other than to say it looks good so far. Bear in mind that the structures your main shelter are made out of are going to have a big impact on how your settlers and associated PC's/NPC's maintain bodyheat. Your capstone will help, but it's not an auto-win.

Brief summary of what’s going on: this is the start of Woe preparing for the snowstorm. He has just a slight feeling upon seeing the snow that it will be a bit more harsh than most snow storms.
What impact are you hoping this thread will have? I hope it will lead to some central organization for Egilrun, from which they may be able to help the greater population. He plans to shelter a command crew of experts (rangers element officers, order of adunih) as well as people who are left in the cold with no way to shelter.
How prepared is your PC and how likely to survive in this weather? Not very prepared, but very likely to survive with expert field craft and a blessing from Ziell that makes him immune to cold effects.

Assume a few hundred extra people on top of the Elements Curveball: The Order of the Adunih / Isonomia will be keen to keep up communication and will ask for extra supplies if possible.

Brief summary of what’s going on: - This is the 8th. There WILL be threads in between the start and this - but I needed to get this done. A hunting party goes out from Sweetsong and don't get back. Vega goes looking for them.

	Thanks to Vega's proactiveness, she's managed to rescue and bring back the missing hunters. This means that they will have a workable source of edible meats and hides to subsist on through most of the storm. Food won't be as much of a problem, if at all.

But then she goes back to find her father. She finds her father's dead body. She carries her father's body back to Sweetsong.

This will ensure that the settlement doesn't lack for meat (bear) during and after the storm. They will be kept fed and warm from the bear pelts. Vega's father will be missed, and the settlers will want to pay their respects as he's laid to rest. His funeral becomes a cultural touchstone for Sweetsong's settlement, and Vega could swear that a new star appears in the sky on that night, but blinks out the next night. Next arc, it will reappear on the same night.

How prepared is your PC and how likely to survive in this weather? My pc has a very high chance of surviving this thread. Do to npc medical skills, and hearth Dirii Astra and the babies have a very good chance to survive.
