[Lysoria] No I Didn't Want To Dance (Victor)

Ymiden 16 710

Gennadiya walked away from the carriage that had conveyed them to the dance this evening. The Lyosha family had been invited to join a very large celebration honoring the founding of Lysoria all those centuries ago. There family was rich enough to be included, that and the fact that their grandfather was a very minor noble in the city, though none of that had passed on to his grandchildren, also put them on the guest list.

Gennaidya was dressed in a pink dress that showed off her almost developed form to its full advantage. Her platinum blond hair was done up in intracite braids with silver strands decorating it. She was currently holding her father’s arm and on his other side her older sister, who was wearing a light purple down that did an excellent job of showing off her full developed body to a flatering advantage.

The young woman was doing okay until they stepped into the main ballroom. Genna felt a panic of anxiety and found herself wanting to find a corner to take something to help relive the panic. There were so many people, and what if she triped or some how made a foul of herself. Genna felt her self taking in deep breaths as she craved her calm place.

“Alright girls. I will be over here with the other old people if you need me. Otherwise have a good time.” Her father said as he gentle pushed them forward. Genna felt suddenly like she was alone, alone with her panic, with her need for those drugs that could make the world alright.

“Come on Sister.” A beautiful voice said and Genna felt herself being led by her sister into the main part of the ballroom where the dancing was occurring. Before she was even aware of it Gennadiya found herself in some minor Lords arms as she was being swepped around the room in a dance. Gennadiya danced with one partern and then on to another and then a third before she was able to escape and made her way to the snack table.

The beautiful young lady stood at the table wondering what to grab to snack as the party continue around her. Once she would have enjoyed this type of thing, but now she was more interested in getting home and calming herself down. She glanced over at her family and she absently picked up a plat, yep there was her father and sister in the way of her making an escape.

With a sigh she began to select some food.

Victor cared about Lysoria a great deal, and he definitely did not mind social gatherings. What he minded was all the dancing that usually happened during such gatherings though – and all the noble ladies that his brother, the Lord of Lysoria, tried to introduce to him and that he was absolutely not interested in. According to Stefan, his sole purpose in life was to marry a woman and produce a lot of heirs for House Amielle, so that someone could take over in case something happened to him and his family.

Sometimes, he felt as if he were being buried alive.

Without the constant stream of wannabe dance partners, most of whom only wanted to dance with him because of who his brother was and potential future wives, he might actually have enjoyed the celebration. As it was, he wanted to be anywhere but in the fortress though, in Viden, for example, because that city was as far away from home as a place could possibly be while still offering all the things that he wanted and needed (Viden had a prestigious university, among other things, and he wanted to go to university one trial).

Even though he definitely was not happy, the young lord who was dressed in a fine dark suit did not show it. He danced with one lady, and then another one, feigning a light smile and trying to keep his morose thoughts and his frustration to himself and trying not to make too much of a fool of himself (apart from not liking it, he also couldn’t dance very well). After the third song had ended, he excused himself though and slipped away from the dance floor in order to get a few refreshments. Claiming that he was hungry and thirsty would at least save him from dancing for another couple of bits.

He had just gotten a glass of wine and a few canapes (there were cheese and herbs on them) and was trying to find a spot in the ballroom where he could eat in peace and wouldn’t be noticed for a while (which was rather hard when your brother ruled Lysoria) when a young woman joined him at the table. She was … she was pretty, he decided, with platinum blonde hair the likes of which had hardly ever seen before, and she was a little younger than he was. Judging by her sigh, she was just as unhappy about this here as he was.

The young noble took a sip from his glass, briefly glanced at his brother who fortunately seemed to be busy talking to some sort of noble at the moment rather than watching him like a hawk and finally wanted to know, in a somewhat thoughtful tone of voice as such matters were never far from his mind these trials, “If you could be anywhere on Idalos right now, apart from in this ballroom, where would you be? If you could just run away, without having to face the consequences, where would you go?”

Re: [Lysoria] No I Didn't Want To Dance (Victor)

A young Genna had noticed the young man who had slipped up to table. He began to nibble on the various foods on the table, young men always were eating, the jeweler’s daughter thought. She had found her appetite waning in the past few weeks, which her friends said would help her keep off the weight. Genna glanced down at her form and felt frustration again that she wasn’t as skinny as her friends.

She glanced around the room and could see her father quietly standing in a group of lesser nobles and wealthy merchants. He still held the same melancholy expression that had haunted his face since there mother’s death over ten arcs ago. Though he did seem interested in what ever the conversation that was currently going on. The sapphire eyes moved on and found his sister who was currently on the dance floor. She was enjoying herself with a hug grin on her face. Genna felt a part of her grow a bit envious as she saw how happy her sister was.

Genna shook her head. No she had more important things to do. She had so many projects, and need to keep up with her homework. This was really a huge waste of time. She glanced over and noticed that the young nobleman was also keeping an eye out on the dance floor, Genna would guess that he was like her and was seeing avoidance rather then a sweetheart.

She grabbed a strand of hair and slowly played with it while looking around. Genna found herself looking around trying to find someone to mock, she wasn’t nearly as good at it as others in her group, she struggled with actually wanting to mock people’s short comings instead of feeling sorry for them. It was while she was struggling with this, not realizing that she wasn’t actually with her friends to do the mocking, when a voice spoke to her.

The stuff she was on had heightened her awareness. She snapped her head up and looked at the young man. She wouldn’t have admitted it since she didn’t realize she was doing it, but her expression showed her pondering the question, not because she wasn’t sure of the answer, but because she was trying to make sure she understood it. She looked at the young man and answered. “I would go to Desnind. I don’t really now why, but I have always been interested in it since I heard its built into a forest.” She looked back at him and asked. “And you?”
