Welcome to the Iulure Isles.
The Hyludin of Iulure like other human based races have a number of holidays that they celebrate. Some are hug and nationally important holidays while others are local events that only a few celebrate. Given the independent nature of the Hyludin it isn’t surprising that there is such a diversity of holiday. Below are a list of holidays that are celebrated by all Iulure regardless of which island they might originate from.
Blessing of the Chosen (Bendith y Dewisedig) – Ashan 1st
This trial celebrates when the dragons chose to elevate the Hyludin to the air. The population wears plain clothing for the trial. For most people this means undyed wool, for the rich it is white cotton. In either case it is a loss garment with minimal stitching.
Those who are the highest ranks in the cult of each of the 15 dragons travel to the central island of Iulure itself. At that time the four dragons present themselves together on Iulure. As many people as possible are allowed to watch. It is encourage that ever citizen at least once in their life attend this event. For normal people they spend the morning quietly going preparing for the afternoon. Traditionally no flying is allowed. Then at noon all take flight to celebrate gaining wings. The rest of the afternoon and well into the evening is spent in celebration. Food, dancing and music are in abundance.
Sovereign’s Choosing (Dewis Sovereign) – Varies, currently Vhalar 100
This trial celebrates the choosing of the current Sovereign to his position. The Sovereign will travel to a different island each year in a rotating pattern to show that he is loyal to all the islands. His visit is always accompanied by parades and feasts.
For islands where he isn’t visiting, the Protectors will host large celebrations and feast across the island in order to celebrate. Each island has its own specific flavor to the celebrations, but generally as with all Hyludin celebrations there is food, music and dancing.
Blessings of the Dragons (Bendithion y Dreigiau) – Varies see below
This is a series of celebrations honoring the each of the dragons themselves as well as Luesco for creating the barrier and the islands. Those who have chosen to follow a particular dragon celebrate that trial with feasts and gathering of like minded Hyludin. Some of the Dragon cults have more intense celebration as the nature of the dragon would dictate but those are kept sacred and not shared with outsiders. The whole of the nation will honor each dragon on its trial. They do this by changing their horns, tails and wings to reflect that dragon for that trial. Then they return to their normal chosen state.

Hatching Blessing (Deor Bendith) – Ashan 20th
The Hyludin has always honored the creatures of the air. Partly as flying cousins, but also because they were a main staple of food for so long. They honor the hatch of the new birds each year with feasts that contain no bird in it. Though they do decorate their hair with feathers. Some of these feathers have been preserved and passed down from generation to generation and only come out on this trial to celebrate. This is also a Childrens holiday where most of the activities are planned around also celebrating the Hyludin’s own new generation. It is on this trial that all new additions to the family are taken to Ancestor shrines and presented.
Induks Blessing (Induk Bendith) – Ymiden 50th
The Hyludin honor the four Induks of the island on this day. Beyond visiting the shrines of the Induks how one celebrates is left up to the individuals and families.
Idalos Bounty (Idalos Haelioni) – Vhalar 100th
This holiday celebrates bringing in the final crops against the coming cold times. It is a large celebration. Outside of the city it is a time to show off livestock and crops at local fairs and feasts. In the city it is a time to show off wealth at feasts.
