Vivian had ignored the crack about whether soldiers were innocent or not. That debate had never interested her, since she felt it rather missed the point of why soldiers existed. She also didn't point out that she hadn't called her soldiers innocent, just that she considered their lives worth defending. Grenadine Frask wasn't a name she was familiar with, and she couldn't offhand recall if she'd ever heard of a Frask before. There was no response from any of the Spirits sent into the building however, and Vivian clambered back to her feet. Getting knocked off your feet in plate armor was never fun and it always took a bit to regain your footing. She nodded when Faith said she could stop magic, lowering the visor on her helmet so it protected her face.

Once it turned time to discuss how to move forward, she waited for the researchers to give their thoughts, then stepped forward in the direction that Faith indicated. She was the most secure against physical attacks, and she drew her sword and shield in case someone decided to attack the group. She stopped after a second, however, as Fins sent an image back to her. "Fins got sent back to before Westwind was built. All I'm getting from him is an image of the area from before Westwind was built, if I'm interpreting this right." she said, before shaking her head and recalling her Diri back and apologizing to him for the delay. She let Faith lead the way to the graveyard, or rather tell them the way to go, as Vivian was pretty insistent on taking the vanguard position.

When they eventually got there, through some magic with Doran's map, they found Grenadine Frask's tombstone. She read the epitaph then turned and looked at Faith. "He kept his daughter in a Well. Like how we jailed Pearl Hopper in a well, except he did it to keep her from passing on." she said, before shaking her head. "He's trying to revive her, but who knows if there's even anything left of his daughter's psyche after...however many decades." There was a pause as Vivian considered their options, then turned to Faith. "I think you'd best cut off any more magic, if you can. If he's trying to give her a new body, we need to cut it off at the source. Ilaren only knows what insanity he's trying to make it happen." she said, her tone calm.

Re: [Westwind Ruins] From Deceit to Candor

In the midst of the chaos, the conflux of so much concentrated ether, the world began to split asunder, threatening to tear a vergeance between the Beneath and a Fractive gate through Emea. In the middle of that divide, between the world below and the world above, Westwind had found itself in the crossfire. Yet as Famula's tear turned red and then black, absorbing all the ether flying through the air as the mad mage was revealinig himself as a Visitant, much of everything suddenly changed.

There, around them, as they walked around, a large bubble ensconced the town. There, they saw people living, going about their lives. They all looked for all the world to be normal, ordinary people. Whatever spell had befallen Westwind, casting it into ruins, had been reversed by a sudden snap of fractive force and the disruption of ether, turning back the clock, essentially.

Amazingly, everything appeared to return to normal, even as Faith and Vivian and Doran began to wander through the town. The only thing odd, was that the people living there, seemed to have no idea of any disappearances, of any ghostly episodes, or of the destruction that had been precipitated by some unknown force. It was as if time had snapped back upon itself, due to the deep Rend that the mage had been trying to form in the sky.

"In truth..." Came a bear-like voice from behind them, and there they'd see Ralaith, whom Vivan and Faith would recognize from their prior encounters. "Even having consulted Ziell, I didn't think this would come to pass. How strange, an attempt to rend into the very heart of Emea, into my domain, would have such an effect. This bears further inquiry, I would think." Ralaith winked at them. Then he wandered off into the crowded streets.

Soon enough, within breaks, the Tear of Famula would run out of the ether-draining capacity. However, the vergeance and fracture that had threatened to form had effectively closed due to the effects of the Tear. And life went on in Westwind Town.

The End?
