Bronze-pipe Serpent

Developed by Ink
Price: Tier 5Habitat: Cold regions primarily. They are subject to brumination in hotter climates, or during Saun.
Lifespan and Development: Typical for an amphibious constrictor. Lives up to 20-40 years and sometimes more if kept in captivity and cared for by a handler. It lays between 5-6 to 13-16 eggs during its breeding cycle, which then must be fertilized by a male. The females signal to nearby males to fertilize their eggs by emitting a peculiar heat signature from its snake pit. Males can track this heat-signature from much farther than their ordinary thermalvision,a nd thus have become quite successful in winter reaches of the Empire and other places.
Diet: Mostly fish, birds, rodents, and other small animals. Obligate Carnivore.
Temperament: The bronze-pipe serpent will typically not go out of their way to attack larger animals unless threatened. They tend only to use their tail-venom when they are hunting. Their mode of predation involves constricting first around a prey animal, and then injecting a fast-acting paralytic. The paralytic venom works swiftly but does no permanent nerve damage. In humans, the venom only numbs their limbs temporarily unless strengthened by thickening.
Abilities:
Ability 1 ~ Thermalvision - The bronze-pipe serpent is able to detect heat signatures in full spectrum from absolute cold to boiling hot.
Ability 2 ~ They radiate heat, and also are resistant to fire and heat. Often they will nest in campfires, alarming unsuspecting travelers who make camp sometimes.
Weaknesses:
Weakness 1 ~ They require nesting in heat, or else close contact with an animal that has body heat. Often this leads them to other bronze-pipe snakes, and they are very social for a serpent, often brooding among colonies of their kind in order to perpetuate the warmth they radiate.
Weakness 2 ~ While they need heat in order to remain mobile, staying in a warm or humid climate long-term can be detrimental to their health. They will tend to bruminate when exposed to hotter climates. Extended exposure can prove especially harmful to their health.
