Re: [Telka] Saoire's Heroes.

The time had come for them to attend the feast that had been spoken of when they completed the forging and Xander was excited, his body shivered with anticipation to see the final outcome of the his and everyone elses efforts. He hoped that the fruits of their labour would be satisfactory for them and that they would find themselves to have been successful. A lot had changed for Xander after that day although he only now seemed to remember it, he had learned a truth he would never have imagined and he now felt he once again would have to relearn and re-evaluate who he was at his core. Nontheless, Gennadiya had agreed to accompany him to the feast and her father had been kind enough as to agree to watch over the girls for them too.

Xander nodded and smiled appreciatively to Genna's father. "Thank you Master Lyosha, I hope they do not cause you too much difficulty." He knew more than anyone what a handful his daughters could be. Xander knelt and kissed each of his daughters on the head while Gennadiya was with her father and said his good byes making sure he was ready to leave when she returned to his side. He stepped back from the girls and Genna took his arm, with his spare hand Xander reaching into his pocket and took hold of the Getaway Stone and in a flash they were suddenly somewhere else.

It took the Shieldbearer a moment to get his bearings but once he was situated he realised he was stood at a pair of gates through which he could see firstly two things. There was a turtle and a racoon who started to speak to them, Xander had only met one other being similar to this one and it had been Bao Bao but Xander listened and nodded to what Horatio had to say. "I have no need of refreshment at this time but thank you." Xander stated in ageement with Gennadiya as they turned to face the turtle. The creature wwas not like any turtle he had seen before, was it even a turtle? He wasn't sure, wherever they were was not like any place he had been before. They must have been somewwhere special for that he was sure.

The turtle lowered itself for them to board and take their seats in the saddle for them and once they were secured the creature began to move towards the castle that stood in the distance. Xander smiled and squeezed Gennadiya's hand as he watched the world pass them by. It was a fantastical place filled with unusual and beautiful phenomenon. While they travelled Xander saw waterfalls flowing upwards and birds flying backwards, he saw golden fish swimming down the waterfalls and finally as Gennadiya and her Dirri played and sang a sweet tune their were shooting stars that seemeed to join in on the chorus with a stunning display. "It certainly is beautiful." He agreed with the healer as he watched.

As they travelled it occurred to Xander the similarities this bore to his old life. "This reminds me a lot of my life in Rynmere, albeit there were less elemental turtles back then." Xander said with a chuckle. "But travelling long distances to go to feasts and celebrations, I think the last such celebration I attended would have been theMidwinter Masquerade, that was an event to remember, in fact I actually met the king that day although very unexpectedly I will admit, I still need to tell you the story of when a werebear through a door at the king." Xander leaned back in the saddle and watched the shooting stars above. "We had been invited to private rooms for an activity where a masked man told us of our challenge, we were to take on roles from within the Rynmerian government and discuss a matter of importance. However, it seemed that one of the guests, a hulking bearlike man who I later learned could actually turn into a bear wasn't too fond of games of intellect and after I would say he lost he decided to throw a door at our host who once removed his mask turned out to be King Cassander himself." Xander gave a half smile in memory of how odd his life useed to be in comparison to the simplicity of his life now.

Xander shook his head and returned to the present, pushing memories from the forefront of his mind and patting the side of the turtle. "I'm sorry I must be boring you Harmony." He said acknowledging the name that Genna had suggested for the creature. "What would you like to talk about?" He asked their steed expectedly receiving no reply. Xander smirked and looked down at the turtle once again. "Quiet one huh?" The nobleman said with a smirk. "Well, my grandmother warned me that it was the quiet ones you always had to watch out for, they were always the ones scheming and plotting while the loud ones were giving awway all their secrets." Xander said, although he wasn't completely certain whether it was his grandmother that had told him that or someone else.

They eventually arrived in their destination where Xander alighted first from the turtle and offered a hand to assist his partner down from the saddle. "Funny we should see you again Sir." Xander said with a friendly smile as he allowwed himself to be guided to the rooms where he could get ready for the feast.

Upon arriving at his room Xander found his outfit. He inspected it and began to dress himself starting with the white shirt and then tieing the blue and gold cravat over the top before pulling on a pair of highwaisted dark blue woolen trousers adn buttoning them up. Next was a golden waistcoat which he pullled on and buttoned up, tucking in his cravat before finally finishing up the outfit with a pair of black leather knee boots and a matching dark blue tailcoat. Quickly running a comb through his hair Xander then made his move down to meet with Gennadiya. "You look beautiful my Lady." He said offering his arm again for them to enter and find their seats together. "Shall we?" He said once she had taken his arm he would allow them to be guided to their seats at the horseshoe shaped tables.

Saoire's Realm

And finally, they were all seated.

Stars lit above them, each one of them found their place setting - and they found that there was room for them, and any and all who came with them. There was a wide open-air space outside them, the ceiling opened up to the skies. The seats were comfortable and there was an incredible attention to detail. Beautiful place settings had small gifts sitting for each individual - and for each one, it was their favourite sweet snack which had been made to the highest standards of taste and presentation. Couples would find small crystal decorations which matched, or made a pair, and were significant to them. Individuals had small crystal objects too - all of which were significant and meaningful. Animal companions were not left out, there was a gift for each one. Even spirits such as Diri were given gifts here - and for them the gifts were the same. With each course, a small vial of ephemera which allowed them to taste the flavours of the feast.

They had a few moments to get settled and they would have drinks poured for them. It was an interesting fact of Saoire's realm ~ or perhaps of just this night ~ that alcohol had no negative effects here. There would be all the experience when drinking, but no feeling of inebriation or consequences the next morning. Each table was decorated with flowers and blooms which were living. No cut flowers here, each decoration was alive. Plants and small trees grew from the center of each table, healthy and living and giving a beautiful scent. Small crystals hung from branches and there were candles flickering at differing heights on each table.

The effect was exquisite.

Of course, the people seated here were also of differing heights - and yet that was another effect of Saoire's realm. Each person experienced the world, and everyone in it, as though they were their size. An ithecal and a cadouri could sit at the same table and be eye to eye and the world fitted them perfectly. It was a means of bringing people together, and it simply worked. When everyone was seated and had drinks, they were given a five-course menu. Each menu was different, it was a selection of the individual's favourite things. The only thing which was the same was that there was a "Chef's Choice" on each, whereby they would allow the chef to put together a bespoke menu for them.

Quickly enough, everyone was seated with drinks and having made whatever food order they wished. There was quiet music playing in the background - a cadouri string quartet - and a hum of conversation. Then, the area at the front of the room lit up more brightly and there stood Saoire.

Image

"I bid you all a warm welcome," she said. Her green eyes were solemn as she looked at them. Around her, fairies fluttered and many of them whispered into her ear or giggled with musical sounding voices. "We are here to celebrate, and to give thanks, to those who worked so hard to save Scalvoris and who, in the process, achieved so much more." She looked around with a smile and it seemed like she looked at each individual, making personal eye contact with them.
Image

"For those who do not know me, I am Saoire. It is my pleasure to greet you here, in my Domain." she gestured around to where they were, her shimmering white dress moving with her. "This is Telka and you are each a gift to the evening." She spoke softly, gently, but her voice was clearly heard by all.

"Although there are many here who know what happened, because they were there, there are equally those of you who do not," she said. "And so, I have provided an option for you to do so. At your place setting, there is a small vial"

Indeed there was - each one of them would find such. A small vial, intricate and beautiful. There was one for everyone, even if they'd been there. Because, after all, they hadn't all been in every place. Inside was a clear golden liquid which looked like honey. "If you drink the contents of that vial, it will show you what happened, in each place with each person." And indeed, it would - but it was up to them if they chose to drink it or not.

"With each course, we will celebrate achievements of specific individuals or groups. The heroes who saved us that trial and groups such as the Order of the Adunih who helped so much in the storm and freeze," With a warm smile, she opened her arms. "There are six of us here, tonight, in this realm and we will visit you, speak with you. Please, enjoy your first course."

And so, The Feast for Heroes began.

Re: [Telka] Saoire's Heroes.

Saoire's Realm

The food was served, the music played quietly in the background and the tables were visited by the Immortals. There were the noises of general conversation, chatting and eating.

As the first course was finished, Saoire spoke again, stepping into the open area with the tall windows behind her. The night sky glimmered with the light of a thousand stars and she smiled in pleasure as she spoke. "I hope you all enjoyed your first course," as she spoke, fairies fluttered around her and their giggling was tinkling music. As the waiters moved around, clearing the tables of the first course, Saoire's voice rang out clearly in the room.

"As I said, we will be celebrating achievements of individuals and groups," she explained. "And the first of those is the most important, I feel." Her shimmering white dress caught the starlight and it glistened rainbow colours. "Every one of those involved stepped forward and gave all they could, but there are two who deserve the greatest of accolades and all the thanks we have to give." Her green eyes were serious as she looked at them.

"Two people stepped forward and offered themselves in an act of bravery," she said. "And their sacrifice meant that there was less death, that a child was given the childhood she deserves. But it is important that the first thing we do is to acknowledge the bravery of the two."

She gestured to the table where Nir'wei sat and she spoke directly to him. "You stood forward and sacrificed yourself in full knowledge of what you faced. Your bravery is beyond compare and every person on Scalvoris, and each Immortal owes you a debt that can never truly be repaid. Your gift was freely given, even though you knew its cost so well. Please, join me in giving thanks to Nir'wei. Those who were there may speak of it, if they wish" Immediately, Eckman stood. One might have thought that he was going to clap, but that was not what he did.

"Your bravery that day" said Eckman, his eyes on Nir'wei, "was a light in a time of darkness and I am inspired by you." He remained standing, as Stan, Jacien, Rose and Professor Fridson stood. They did not speak, for they were not there, but they stood in thanks to him. Saoire stood and watched as every person who wished it thanked the man who had given his life. Each of the Immortals did, standing up at the table they had sat at for their first course and giving their personal thanks dealt with at each individual table

When it was done, Saoire moved over to where Nir'wei was and she leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. "Your bravery is without doubt, without question," she said to him, her voice serious as he green eyes regarded him. "The actions of all those present meant that we Immortals can change, can grow. It is my hope that in doing so, we are inspired by actions such as yours."

With a smile to him, Saoire put a small gift next to his plates. It was wrapped and tied. "No thing, no item or trinket can give thanks to you, but this token is just that," she said to him, "a token. Thank you, Nir'wei."

She kissed him again, and then walked back to the stage. Eyes turned to Nir'wei as those gathered more or less expected a speech, it seemed. If he gave a response, though, was up to him.

Once everyone had sat back down, the waiters had cleared the first course. There was a small glass left on each setting, a palate cleanser - a refreshing drink which tasted of fruit. Each taste was different, of course, and was the juice they liked the most. Saoire spoke again. "There is another," she said. "who willingly sacrificed himself that trial. His soul was turned into a wisp, and this trial, in Zuudaria, the realm of Famula - a new body was made for him. His soul was carried by two brave men who bore him to the realm of the unquiet dead, so that he could be restored."

Behind her, a portal opened and Saoire smiled. "Please," she said. "join me in welcoming Bao, Darius, Zoro and Joy." This time she did applaud, as did the Immortals and those seated at the tables. When they came through, they were shown to their table, to their seats. They, too, had the small gifts and snackssee the mod post above for clarity and once they were seated, Saoire spoke again. "There are no words to say how proud I am of you, Bao, nor how grateful to the three of you." The three of them would find small wrapped gifts waiting for them. "There are tokens of thanks at your table, but the world owes you each a debt."

As the new arrivals settled down, the second course was brought out for them all.

Re: [Telka] Saoire's Heroes.

Saoire's Realm

The tribute to Nir'wei was heartfelt and shared by all. The Immortals stood and spoke, each of them - each gave tribute to him, showed their appreciation of him. His own words back were simple. It was his honour to serve. Saoire smiled at him and nodded. Then, she spoke to all in the room. "It is incumbent on us all to not forget, " she said. "I could suggest that we each owe Nir'wei a debt, and that is right. But I believe that the best thing any of us can do to repay that debt is to live our best lives. Those lives, after all, have been earned by the actions of those we are celebrating here this evening. It is the greatest gift."

Then, when things had settled down a little it was time for another entrance. This time, Bao, Darius, and Zoro. They stepped through to applause and it was applause Saoire led. When they were all seated, she spoke once more. "I would ask every person here to remember and celebrate the actions of these brave individuals, " she said, gesturing to Nir'wei, Bao, Darius and Zoro. "To celebrate," she said. "Not simply to remember, but to act on that remembering. To give, without question. To help each other. When we each do that, the world is a better place for it."

That said, she walked over to Ruari. Kneeling next to her, Saoire smiled at her. "This is for you, brave Ruari," she said softly as she handed Ru a necklace with a glittering turle pendant. Everyone heard her voice, but it was quiet. "It is like the necklace Doran put on you before. It will keep you safe. And for you, Wren, the same." Looking at Hart, she smiled softly. "It also keeps my gaze on them. Should anything ever harm them or try to, I will know. " Standing, she put her hand on Hart's shoulder and then moved back to the main area.

As the plates for the second course were cleared away, Saoire once again rose and spoke to them. Again, as she did, there was a small palate cleanser ~ this time in the form of a rice-spoon with a perfect quenelle of sorbet with a flavour which would please them. Looking around at them, she smiled once more. "It is a gift," she said, fairies chattering and twinkling around her. "To be able to celebrate the achievements of our friends and companions. So much was achieved, so much was given. It is fitting that we do so." The sky outside now was dark - it was night, no longer dusk - and there were stars shining in unison with them and their celebrations.

"There are so many ways to give, and all of you gave so much." There was no doubt of this in Saoire's mind. "But now, we will celebrate two who stood and gave more in the Forging than we truly could have hoped for. When the Induks were first imprisoned, there were six Forgings. The four we know of and, of course, Life Forged and Death Forged. We must give thanks to the two who stood in the Forging and took those roles. The Forging itself was painful and uncomfortable for all, but these two suffered in order to bring balance to Scalvoris, in order to free the Induks. They gave their own energy, their own strength - one in song and one in story." She smiled at Elisabeth and Arlo as she spoke.

"And, of course, we must remember that, arcs ago it was Arlo's willingness to sacrifice himself for others which freed the trapped souls. That action allowed one to stay behind," she gestured to Ledas, the tiger at Darius' side. "To guide you through the caves of Ishallr." She gestured then, to the two of them, first Elisabeth and then Arlo. "Please, accept our thanks for taking on the very difficult and painful role, for giving of yourselves and doing so with an unwavering commitment" She gestured for the two of them to stand. As they did, Cadouri brought them each a small gift box. They had no lids so inside the beautiful and delicate boxes they could see, nestled on some organza fabric, a chainstone. "From the Induks, and from us all,"

Then, she gestured around. "Please, join me in giving thanks to Elisabeth and Arlo for what they did." She lifted her hands and began to clap -- she was joined by all the Immortals and, again, there was rather that feeling that someone, somewhere, expected a speech from them both.

As the guests started on their third course, it seemed that they were to be joined by more than the Immortals. At every table, fairies fluttered around and their giggles tinkled like bells.

Re: [Telka] Saoire's Heroes.

Saoire's Realm

Once the tribute to Arlo and Elisabeth had finished, Saoire smiled around the room as the applause died down. "So far, we have celebrated those whose actions in the Heart of Scalvoris meant that things went so much better than we could have hoped," she said. Then, she gestured to the room. "And I want to be clear with everyone here. Whether you have seen the events via the vial, whether you were there to witness them or even if you have only the word of those who were there, there is an undeniable and absolute truth." Pausing, she breathed in and fairies danced around her. Stars twinkled above her, shining through the window, and for a moment there was silence.

"Each and every person, every individual who was there that trial, is a hero. We are here to celebrate you all and I must make it clear that you saved Scalvoris." With a smile, she watched the fairies as they flittered around. "And while we make note of specifics, of people's actions and deeds which tipped things further, you all saved Scalvoris, the Induks and, quite possibly, a lot more than that" Who knew what Audrae's machinations would have ended with, after all. "And so, to each of you were there in the Heart that trial, to each of you who gave so much, we have a gift for you"

The "we" Saoire referred to was evidently the Immortals, judging by her gesture. As she spoke, cadouri brought small gifts to each person who was there in the Forging that fateful trial. For each one of them it was the same thing. A small crystal-carved turtle with an emerald-encrusted shell and sapphire blue eyes. "One favour to each of you, from any one of us who was present," she said as the gifts were given. "We hope that it goes some way to showing you the depths of our gratitude."

Then, she raised a glass of what seemed to be pink fizzy wine, and spoke once more. "I propose a toast. To those who saved us, to The Forged!" Every waiter, every Immortal, all stood and toasted them.

As the staff collected the plates from the third course, Saoire once again rose and spoke to them. Again, as she did, there was a small palate cleanser ~ this time a small sphere which, when they ate it, exploded in their mouth with a very briefly intense flavour and the sensation of popping candy. Then, it was gone. Gazing around the room, Saoire beamed with obvious delight "One of the things which amazes me beyond explanation," she said as the stars seemed to twinkle in agreement with her "Is the bravery and resourcefulness of all of you."

"In terms of that bravery, that resourcefulness - and that willingness to go the extra mile, we have two people to give our thanks to." Her eyes moved around the room and then alighted on the first. "Woe Morandi, when all this began and you became aware, you stepped in to protect Egilrun. Your actions led to the protection of Egilrun, the strengthening of the Rangers and the Order of the Adunih. That you saved lives is without doubt and you did so not only without any quest for personal glory, but in a time when such action was both desperately needed and not your responsibility." She smiled at Woe and raised her hands to clap for him.

Applause for Woe echoed around the room and Saoire waited for it to die down, before speaking again. "Would you say a few words, Woe?"

After Woe had spoken, or declined to, Saoire spoke again. "Next is someone who went above and beyond in the greatest manner," she said and again, her smile was beaming. "There is no doubt that any endeavor requires logistics and management, but we all agree that in this there has been one individual who has exceeded our expectations above all others" Her gaze turned to the man in question. "Your actions, Doran, saved Scalvoris, there is no doubt. More than that, your analytical thinking and logical approach meant that every detail was adhered to. However, what amazed us was that you also managed to come up with solutions so elegant that they surprised the great Storyteller himself." As she said that, Cassion spoke. "Hear hear! That hasn't happened for many an arc!" Saoire smiled at Doran and spoke once more. "You saved us all. Thank you."

Then, she gestured around. "Please, join me in giving thanks to Doran," She lifted her hands and began to clap -- she was joined by all the Immortals and, again, there was rather that feeling that someone, somewhere, expected a speech from them both. then Cassion shouted once more. "Speech! "

And both of them were given gifts, also. For Woe it was an exquisite glass coin which was icy cold on one side, warm on the other. For Doran, it was a plain platinum ring.

Re: [Telka] Saoire's Heroes.

Saoire's Realm

It was obviously coming towards the end of the evening, and they had celebrated and thanked a lot of people, rightly so as far as Saoire was concerned. But there was more still to do and so she once again stepped up to the cleared area to speak. "It has been a wonderful evening and I hope that you have all enjoyed yourselves," she said with a smile. "But we are not yet done. There is wonderful food still to eat and people to thank." She looked around the room with pleasure and delight in her eyes.

"The next two people are being thanked for their leadership," she smiled as she spoke that. "And first, of course, we must thank the Alberach of Scalvoris, Kura. Your determination in your role and commitment to keeping Scalvoris safe has, literally, saved the island on more than one occassion." Kura's role as the Alberach was well known - as was her "get in there" attitude to helping in a crisis. "For the arcs of service to Scalvoris, we give you thanks"

Each Immortal stood and clapped for the Alberach, with Saoire leading them. "You deserve all the thanks we have and I want you to know that your efforts are appreciated" As she spoke, a platypus cadouri brought Kura a gift. It was boxed and wrapped and seemed to be a book of some kind. "It is very much our hope that you will enjoy this gift, and that it goes some way to showing you how deeply grateful we are."

Again, she raised her glass. "The Alberach.!"

As the staff collected the plates from the fourth course, Saoire rose again. "And now, a celebration of another type of leadership," she said . "That of leading by action. By deed. " Her gaze swept around the room until she saw the man she was speaking of - and to.

"Oram Mednix stood in the Heart of Scalvoris and he refused to give up. He walked to a shattered altar and he began to rebuild. In the face of destruction," she seemed to be speaking directly to Oram, even though she was speaking about him. Her voice carried around the room and the pride in it was obvious. "In the face of destruction you rebuilt. You would not give in. And in that act and with that action, you epitomized everything that the Forged stands for." It was an important and serious point for her and she knew that she was not the only one who felt it.. "You are an example to us all, and we are beyond grateful to you, and for you."

Again, there was applause. Cassion let out a whooping cheer for Oram and Saoire smiled. "I hope this gift brings you peace and pleasure" And indeed, Oram was brought a small gift in a box. It, too, seemed to be a book of some kind.

At the Fire Table, Qylios stood in her place. All eyes turned to her. "I am Qylios," she said with a smile. "And it is my honour and privilege to be here this evening. We have paid tribute to many, rightly so. But we have saved the final tribute until now, and it is mine to make." She looked around the room and her expression was serious, intense. "There is one here tonight, without whom there would have been enormous bloodshed. More than that, without his actions I would have been put in an impossible situation of my own foolish making." She was not too proud to admit that she knew that. "Without this man, the Warden and Audrae would have been able to attack, to harm, to carry out their plans and he bought us what we needed at enormous personal cost," she gestured to him, sitting at her table. "I ask you all to give thanks and show your appreciation for a man whose dedication to peace is as great as his determination to act. Thank you, Hart, for your actions. Thank you for saving my grand-daughter, and for saving me."

Saoire's Realm

Saoire smiled to those assembled. There was one more person to honor, and she was very happy because it was right to do so.

"Throughout these events, there was one whose impact was felt keenly by many. Her actions and deeds were a start, many arc ago, and what happened then touched many of the people that we honor here tonight. From the shores of Faldrass, where visions of her and said events were seen, to the Heart of Scalvoris, where her ability with children was channeled, woven into the grand story that was able to be masterfully created, she may not have been physically with us, but Vega Creede’s spirit and determination were with all of us, and now, a gift.”

Turning to Vega, Saoire held out a small glittering orb to Vega. The fairies within the room descended upon Saiore, Vega and the orb. As Vega placed her hands on the orb, she would feel an energy surge through her. It was gentle, as though music was flowing within, notes playing within her mind. The fairies began to glow, and the whole room suddenly heard the beautiful melody.

"“We thank you, Vega Creede – Song Forged!"

And finally, as Vega returned to her seat, the feast in Saoire's realm was done. The last of the food was eaten and, as the waiting staff cleared away the plates, Saoire spoke for the final time. "I'd like to give my personal thanks," the Immortal said "to the waiters and the chefs and all those who made this evening so very wonderful. Thank you" She led the room in the last round of applause for the night.

Then, with music playing and fairies fluttering, Saoire looked around at them - each one of them. "I hope that your evening has been filled with happiness and that you carry some of that with you, into the future. It is a brighter future we all step to, because of the actions of those we've celebrated today and I thank you for sharing the evening with us." Then, she gestured. "Please, feel free to stay and mingle if you choose. For those who are returning home, you just need to go out to the turtle bay, and you'll be sent back. Those who are staying the night, I hope you are comfortable."

Then, she bowed her head and bade them farewell.
