Starter Quest

It’s a dark night when Nathan hears someone hammering on his door, using a secret rhythm told to members of the Shadow Quarter. He’s barely finished unlocking it before someone pushes their way in: a girl in her mid-teens dressed all in black, with a scowl as fierce as thunder. Without so much as an introduction she pushes a note into his hands and walks briskly away. Opening the note, Nathan reads the following message scratched out hurriedly.

“Mr Van De Gucht,

You don’t know me, and that is the way things shall stay. If anyone asks you have never heard my name before, and you never received this message. Should this information be leaked I will know that you are the source.

The Shadow Lord known as Coyote runs our organ trading operations in the northern parts of the Dust Quarter. Yet we have heard rumours of suspicious activity linked to his name, and grow concerned that he may be conspiring with forces unknown to betray us. If such rumours hold truth he must die.

You are young enough, new enough, to be a plausible traitor. I want you to get close to Coyote. Use your skills in medicine to prove to him you are capable subordinate and gain his trust. Play the role of one who would follow him in whatever grab for power he may be making, and see if he approaches you with an offer to join him. If such rumours hold any merit, go to The Pit and ask for a fighter named Cassius. Tell him what you know. Do this and you shall be rewarded greatly.
