Brent grimaced at the blood on Azrael’s chest. The beast had done a number on him. But at least the man didn’t seem on the verge of passing out from the wounds or the pain. Brent could feel the frequent flaring of pain in his own arm, especially when he moved it, and clutched it gingerly at his side. The cartographer looked up at the whistle, but nothing seemed to come of it. Maybe the treasure hunter was looking for his horse?
