Overview

There are four common coins (nels) used as currency across the regions of Idalos: onyx nels (on), gold nels (gn), silver nels (sn), and copper nels (cn). An onyx nel is worth 500 gold nels; a gold nel is worth 10 silver nels; and a silver nel is worth 10 copper nels. Although these coins are accepted throughout every region in Idalos, the Iulure Isles use a different form of currency. This currency, also in coins, is imprinted with the seal of eight, the eight celestial beings who gave rise to the Immortals. As such, the currency serves as a reminder for why humans fight to survive.

OOC Note: Although your PC will be using nels (or perhaps a city-specific currency) while in character, it is not necessary for you to keep a record of every onyx, gold, silver, and copper. Instead, Standing Trials has an independent Wealth System, comprised of Wealth Tiers which rely on a measurement of wealth called Wealth Points. Each PC will belong to one of ten Wealth Tiers, each of which represent the amount of wealth a PC currently has. Tier 1 PCs are the least wealthy, for example, while Tier 10 PCs are the most. Each Wealth Tier allows access to different items and materials listed on the site Shoppe, with the lower Tiers having easy access to poorer-quality or average-quality goods, and the higher Tiers having easy access to higher-quality and luxury goods.

Every item listed on the Shoppe will have a Wealth Tier assigned to it. This is the Tier at which the item becomes commonplace. If your PC's Wealth Tier matches that of the item (or is higher than that of the item), it means that you can afford the item on a trial-by-trial basis. If your PC's Wealth Tier is lower than that of the item, it means that to have access to the item, you must purchase it with your Wealth Points (or WP).

Please note the specific rules per section of the Shoppe, and also see Wealth Rules before purchasing anything. Thanks!

General Rules

Crafting

A Craft Skill is a skill related to hand-crafting items, such as Smithing, Glassblowing, or Jewelry Crafting. Due to how the Shoppe and the Wealth System work, a PC with a Craft Skill may be able to make items of a higher quality than those usually available to them at their Wealth Tier. Whether or not your PC is able to do this depends on your Skill Level in your Craft Skill. Because higher-quality items are usually crafted with higher-quality materials, the Resources available to you also depend on the level of your Craft Skill. These Resources are the tools, equipment, and materials that your PC might use when crafting an item.

When purchasing materials for crafting, depending on your proficiency in your Craft Skill, you may be able to make purchases at a significantly reduced rate. Thus, having a Craft Skill, especially one at a high proficiency, is of direct benefit to your PC.

PC Skill Level of Craft Skill Quality of Crafted Items Resources Available
Unskilled Very Poor Quality None
Novice Poor Quality None
Competent Average Quality access to Resources 1 Tier above your Wealth Tier
Expert Good Quality access to Resources 1 Tier above your Wealth Tier
Master Masterwork Quality access to Resources 2 Tiers above your Wealth Tier

Please note that this refers only to situations where PCs are purchasing materials. If you have an oak tree and are a Master of Woodworking, then yes, you are allowed to make yourself a masterwork oak table regardless of your Wealth Tier. However, large items should always be RP'd. It is not ok to assume that you built yourself a masterwork table, or any large or expensive item, without devoting IC time to it. Please use this rule sensibly; it's there to give players creative freedom.

Please also note that "access" does not mean that you have an unlimited supply of tools, equipment, and materials at that Tier. The amount of Resources allowed to you, as always, depends on the specifications given to each Resource by the Shoppe. In other words, assume that you have the same amount of daily / seasonal / cyclical access to each Resource as someone at that Tier.

PC Businesses

If you are buying from a PC Business, then you, as a customer, may purchase items from that Business as if you were one Wealth Tier higher in the Tier System. This is to encourage players to make purchases from PC businesses. Any purchases that deal with items more than one Tier above yours are to be made at your usual Tier cost (as dictated in the Shoppe).

Please, however, see the PC Business Guide for information as to how purchasing might work. For example, you may make purchases at a PC Business through its Transaction Thread, or by threading directly with the Business owner.

And remember that any items purchased at a PC Business must be recorded in your Character Sheet.

Edibles

Rules For This Section.

Please refer to the tables below (see Items Available Per Tier.) for availability of food per Wealth Tier. Per Tier, assume that you have access to enough food on a trial by trial basis to feed one person. You do not need to account for feeding NPCs.

Players can buy most food items from their city's marketplace. It is up to each individual player as to whether or not their PC is hunting for or cooking their own food or purchasing it at markets or restaurants. It is important that you consider your regional variations when thinking about what your PC eats / cooks / buys. Seasons and availability will make a massive difference. Please note that the examples included in the Edibles section are real world examples and are meant to give you, the player, an idea of what is available. However, as Idalos is a fantasy setting, please check your city resources and be aware of the more unusual ingredients you may utilize.

Items Available Per Tier.

Please note that PCs may purchase additional edibles using their Wealth Points.

Wealth Tier Diet Quality Notes
Tier 1 Poor At Tier 1 a PC lives from hand to mouth. Edibles available are incredibly plain and limited unless they have been begged for, donated, or gathered in the wild. Most edibles are likely to be of poor quality and are completely unseasoned.
Tier 2 Poor+ At Tier 2 a PC lives on a very limited budget. Edibles at this level are plain, unprocessed, and long-lasting (e.g. grains, beans, root vegetables). Most edibles are likely to be of poor or basic quality. There is no access to seasoning unless it has been gathered in the wild. Sweet treats are not available.
Tier 3 Basic At Tier 3 a PC lives on a limited budget. Edibles at this level are simple, with low-effort processing (e.g. flour, milk, eggs, leafy vegetables, seasonal fruit and nuts). Most edibles are likely to be of basic quality. There is minimal access to seasoning unless it has been gathered in the wild. Sweet treats are limited to fruit and honey.
Tier 4 Basic+ At Tier 4 a PC lives on a tight budget. Edibles at this level are simple, with low-effort processing (e.g. flour, milk, eggs, leafy vegetables, seasonal fruit and nuts). Most edibles are likely to be of basic or average quality. There is access to basic seasoning. Sweet treats are limited to fruit, unrefined sugars (e.g. beet sugars), and honey.
Tier 5 Average At Tier 5 a PC lives on a budget. Edibles at this level are likely to be of average quality, with some processing and variety (e.g. bread, butter, cheese, fish, salted meat, all kinds of fruit and veg). There is more access to a better variety and quality of seasoning. Sweet treats of honey, unrefined sugars, and simple candies are available. Expensive or rare items are very limited.
Tier 6 Average+ Edibles available at Tier 6 are likely to be of average or good quality, with some processing and variety (e.g. bread, butter, cheese, fish, salted meat, all kids of fruit and veg). There is access to a good variety and quality of seasoning. Sweet treats of honey, unrefined sugars, and more candies are available. Expensive or rare items are limited.
Tier 7 Luxury Edibles available at Tier 7 are likely to be of good or excellent quality, with plenty of variety (e.g. fresh meat, refined sugars, imported spices, pressed oils, preserves). All edibles are well-seasoned. Sweet treats are widely available. Expensive or rare items are also available.
Tier 8+ Luxury+ Edibles available at Tier 8 and above are of the best quality, with excellent variety and decoration (e.g. rare meats, imported luxuries, complex dishes, fancy desserts). Seasoning of all kinds is widely available. Sweet treats of all kinds are commonplace. Expensive, rare, and luxury items are available.

Please note that these are the levels at which certain edibles can be easily bought from the market. Lower Tier ingredients may be processed into higher Tier foods as long as it is done in thread (e.g. flour into bread). Please also note that each Tier's access to sweet treats is a good indicator of whether or not other non-essential edibles are available.

When determining your PC's diet, always ensure to take regional variations in cuisine into account.

Finally, while the higher Tiers have access to more and better food, it is up to each individual player, as long as their Wealth Tier allows, to decide whether they would rather eat fancy cakes and champagne or mutton and potatoes. Each player, regardless of Tier, is able to access the type and/or quality of edibles at their Wealth Tier and below.

Other

Due to the items available, different Tiers are allowed to add different qualities, sizes, and numbers of gemstones to each set of jewelry. There are no Tier 1 or Tier 2 gemstones, but Tier 3 gemstones are available at Tier 3, Tier 4 gemstones are available at Tier 4, etc. The baseline at each Tier (as explained in Items Available Per Tier.) means that the gemstones at any Tier are, by default, of Average quality and Average size. The number of gemstones at baseline differs between the Tiers.

Going up the Tier System, the gemstones you may access from the Tiers below you are given +1 modifications to number, quality, and size per Tier until they max out at four gemstones of flawless quality and extra large size.

These gemstones are not cumulative; they are *options*. You may choose between them *instead* of your Tier's baseline if you wish.

This means that at Tier 4, for example:
2 Tier 3 gemstones are available at high quality and large size,
or
1 Tier 4 gemstone is available at average quality and average size (which is the Tier 4 baseline).
You may choose between these options per set of jewelry you have.
At Tier 5, then:
3 Tier 3 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
2 Tier 4 gemstones are available at high quality and large size,
or
2 Tier 5 gemstones are available at average quality and average size (which is the Tier 5 baseline).
Again, you may choose between these options per set of jewelry you have.
At Tier 10:
4 Tier 3 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
4 Tier 4 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
4 Tier 5 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
4 Tier 6 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
4 Tier 7 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
4 Tier 8 gemstones are available at flawless quality and extra large size,
or
4 Tier 9 gemstones are available at high quality and large size,
or
4 Tier 10 gemstones are available at average quality and average size (which is the Tier 10 baseline).
You may choose between these options per set of jewelry you have.

At Tier 10, because it is the highest Wealth Tier, you can also use your Wealth Points to give a +1 or +2 modification to Tier 9 or Tier 10 gemstones.

So, if you are at Tier 10:

  • For 1 Wealth Point, you may add a +1 modification to your Tier 9 gemstones. After paying 1 WP, your Tier 9 gemstones will be of flawless quality and extra large size.

  • For 1 Wealth Point, you may add a +1 modification to your Tier 10 gemstones. After paying 1 WP, your Tier 10 gemstones will be of high quality and large size.

  • For 2 Wealth Points, you may add a +2 modification to your Tier 10 gemstones. After paying 2 WP, your Tier 10 gemstones will be of flawless quality and extra large size.

Because in this section (the Jewelry Section of the Shoppe) you are able to access items which are limited in number, modified, or are otherwise unusual, you are required to keep a record of any unusual items in your CS. There are no exceptions to this.

Each player, regardless of Tier, is able to access the type and/or quality of jewelry at their Wealth Tier and below.

Additionally, when going up and down in the Tier System, PCs are allowed to keep the items they recieved from Wealth Tiers prior.

Baseline Jewelry & Making Modifications

Each Wealth Tier has a baseline for its jewelry, which represents an average example of the jewelry from that Tier. The baseline of a Tier is determined by the quality of metal the jewelry is made of, as well as the quality, quantity, and size of its gemstones. Lacking metal or gemstones, the baseline of the jewelry is determined by the quality of materials it is made of and its other ornamentation (e.g. engravings, beadwork, etc.). The baseline of each Wealth Tier is what you purchase by default, unless you wish to make modifications.

When you modify your jewelry you do so at your own Tier level, and you typically do so in whole sets, though it is not necessary to modify a whole set.

There are 6 methods of modifying your jewelry. Each method will negatively modify one aspect of the jewelry while positively modifying another. The 4 aspects affected by this give-and-take are metal quality, gemstone quality, gemstone number, and gemstone size.

Metal quality refers to the Tier of metal your jewelry is made of. This means that there are ten levels of quality when it comes to metal.

Gemstone quality refers to the level of quality of your jewelry's gemstones. There are five levels of quality when it comes to gemstones.

Gemstone number refers to the number of gemstones on each piece of a set of jewelry. Each piece of a set of jewelry can have zero to four gemstones on it.

Gemstone size refers to the level of size of your jewelry's gemstones. There are five levels of size when it comes to gemstones.

The six methods of modifying jewelry are outlined below. It does not cost Wealth Points to modify your jewelry, and jewelry can only be modified at your Tier.

1. Metal Quality & Gemstone Quality

If you positively modify your jewelry's metal quality, its gemstone quality is negatively modified, and vice versa.

So, if you positively modify your jewelry's gemstone quality, its metal quality will be negatively modified.

Because there are five levels of gemstone quality (Poor Quality, Flawed, Average, High Quality, and Flawless), and because each Wealth Tier's baseline of gemstone quality is Average, the modifications you are able to make to your jewelry are limited to a factor of two.

Mixing & Matching Jewelry Modifications

If you wish to mix and match the methods in which you can modify your jewelry, you may do so. However, you must make sure that you do so within the proper limits. For example, size and quality both are limited to a factor of two when it comes to modifications. This is because the baseline for each Tier has gemstones at Average in both size and quality. Because of this, a gemstone's size and quality can only ever be modified twice; twice to increase the size or quality, or twice to decrease them. There are similar limitations for each aspect (metal quality, gemstone quality, gemstone number, and gemstone size) of the jewelry you wish to modify. Your jewelry's modifications may also be limited by the Wealth Tier you are in.

And remember, for every positive modification you make, you must make a resulting negative modification.

It is also important for you to know the baseline for jewelry at your Tier before you begin modifying your jewelry.

Here is a template for making mix-and-match modifications.

How to Make Mix & Match Jewelry Modifications

To figure out how many modifications you can make at any Tier, you must decide which aspects of your jewelry you would like to modify, and then find which aspect can be modified the most and which, or multiple, can be modified the least.

Metal quality, depending on your Tier, has the potential for as little as zero modifications and as many as nine.

Gemstone quality, depending on your Tier, has the potential for as little as zero modifications and as many as two.

Gemstone number, depending on your Tier, has the potential for as little as zero modifications and as many as three.

Gemstone size, depending on your Tier, has the potential for as little as zero modifications and as many as two.

When using this table, you must balance the Total Factor of Modification with the modifications you have made, positive and negative, throughout the rest of the table.

So, if you are Tier 8, the baseline for your Wealth Tier is "Baseline: Tier 8 jewelry or good+ jewelry
is made from a choice of Tier 8 metals and has 3 Tier 8 gemstones. The Tier 8 gemstones are of Average
quality and Average size."

In this case, if you want to negatively affect metal quality in order to positively affect gemstone
quality, gemstone number, and gemstone size, your table might look like this:
Total Factor of Modification Modifications to Metal Quality Modifications to Gemstone Quality Modifications to Gemstone Number Modifications to Gemstone Size
5 -5 +2 +1 +2

The modifications you have made throughout the rest of the table must cancel out, with the positives and negatives adding up to *zero* (0). The positives and negatives separately must also each be equal to the Total Factor of Modification.

These modifications, for instance, mean that you have modified the baseline of your Tier, Tier 8, so
that your jewelry is now made of a Tier 3 metal, but has the maximum number of gemstones (four) of the
highest quality (flawless) and size (extra large).

Remember that modifying your gemstones' quality, number, and/or size *does not* modify the Tier of your jewelry's gemstones.

In this case, your gemstones are still Tier 8.

Common Metals Used in Jewelry

  • Iron
    • Iron jewelry is very inexpensive and is a common choice for the common folk. Studier than both copper and bronze jewelry though less pretty, it is usually used to make jewelry which the wearer does not want to lose or break.

  • Bronze
    • Bronze jewelry is another common choice for the majority of the population. Despite its popularity, however, bronze jewelry is very likely to break. Bronze chains don't hold well for a long period of time, and any stones or beads used as decoration tend to chip off. This means that unless the jewelry is well-tended, it will fall apart and need replacing.

  • Copper
    • Copper jewelry is much like bronze jewelry in that it is very likely to bend, scratch, and break. Copper jewelry is also very likely to stain the skin. Despite that, it has a very pretty, reddish hue.

  • Silver
    • Jewelry made from silver is most sought after not only for its durability but also because it gives the wearer a certain air of nobility. Silver jewelry can withstand a lot of wear and tear as well as hold onto the stones and beads set into it. Silver doesn't stain the skin like bronze or copper, but it does tend to show a lot of scratches over time and also has the tendency to lose its luster.

  • Gold
    • Gold jewelry is a way of signifying one's status and is as wear-resistant as it is beautiful. Though it can still be scratched, it doesn't lose its luster like silver does. It doesn't stain the skin like bronze or copper, and isn't known for losing its beads and stones like the other metals. Most consider gold the best type of metal to own, which is why gold is the standard when it comes to the people of the mid-to-high Wealth Tiers.

  • Onyx
    • Onyx jewelry is typically worn by the champions of the Immortals, royalty, and the political powerhouses of the world. Owning onyx jewelry defines one's station the moment the person steps into the room. Onyx is a prized, rare metal that is sought after by most. Unlike gold jewelry, onyx jewelry hardly ever receives scratches and its luster is one that never dies.

Armor

Rules For This Section. Click "Expand"

Each item has a tier next to it.

  • If the item is listed as below your current Wealth Tier, you may assume that you have access to one full suit +1 for each Tier above the Listed Tier you possess.
  • Ex. If you have Wealth Tier 10, you may purchase a total of 8 Leather Armors. (1+7)

  • You may purchase one full set of armor one Wealth Tier above your level for 2 wealth point.

  • All Armor (minus Leather) is assumed to be made of Iron. All Shields are assumed to be composed of Wood. If you wish to purchase a higher quality or different metal, consult the Metals section.

  • Items more than one Wealth Tier above your current are inaccessible.

  • Ex. Bob (WT 10) has a group of ten NPCs in a mercenary company. Two of these are Personal NPCs, and are very important to him. Eight of these NPCs, however, are essentially Redshirts. They’re there to fill the role of warrior for his mercenary company, but don’t have any written up personality or features. Bob has a high enough level Wealth Tier that he can buy three full suits of Plate Armor at average quality. He decides to wear one set, and give the other two to his personal NPCs. He still has eight NPCs who could use equipment, however. At Wealth Tier 10, Bob can not only afford the Plate Armor, but can also afford Chainmail which is at Tier 6. Because he is at Wealth Tier 10, he gets five sets of Chainmail, and gives them to his Redshirts.
Three of his Redshirts still need armor, but since Scalemail is also at Tier 6, he can also afford five sets of this as well. He equips the remaining NPCs with Scalemail, and even has a couple of armor sets leftover if he manages to recruit anymore NPCs. He could also still purchase seven sets of Studded Leather, or eight sets of standard Leather Armor if he’d like thanks to his high Wealth Tier.
This means that in total, each season, Bob can purchase 3 sets of Plate Armor, 5 sets of Chainmail, 5 sets of Scalemail, 7 sets of Studded Leather, and 8 sets of standard Leather Armor at Average Quality.
Let’s assume, however, that Bob has one hundred NPCs to provide armor for. He would only be receiving a total of 28 sets of armor if he was gathering it at Average quality. If he wanted to raise the quantity that he was receiving at the cost of quality, he might decide instead to purchase Poor quality armor which would raise his total to 33 sets of armor. Bob won’t be able to give armor to all one-hundred of his NPCs this season, but after four seasons, he’ll have enough to provide armor for all of them, and even have some spare.
Of course, if Bob had fewer Wealth Tiers, he would be unable to buy as many sets of armor at a time, and so his acquisition of protective equipment would be slowed by the amount at which he could purchase it.

Armor Quality Modifiers

Players have the ability to customize their armor and shields to their liking, whether that is by adding gems and jewelry, certain metals, and much more. Listed below are some armors and shields that can be found across Idalos, however, keep in mind that crafting armor and shields is much like crafting a canvas, sculpting, and other arts. Each smith has their own style and technique thus producing many unique items.

Decorative (Pretty, non-functional) ½ of Listed Tier (Round Up)
Poor Listed Tier – 1
Normal Listed Tier
Good Listed Tier +1
Masterwork Listed Tier +2

  • Decorative armors and shields are meant for decoration only. If a character attempts to fight with a decorative armor or shield, they will lose quite easily. These weapon are made out of very cheap material and crafted in such a way that they are only durable enough to not bend. Decorative armor and shields break easy and are only made to accompany one's status, title, or rank.

Armor Types Click "Expand"

Item Name Wealth Tier Description
Leather Armor Tier 3 Simple leather armor that protects the body. This typically consists of hardened animal hides, and is most commonly found on Hunters or Rangers.
Studded Leather Armor Tier 4 Hardened animal hides with metal studs placed at even intervals along the length and width. These studs give added durability, but come with a light addition of weight.
Chainmail Armor Tier 6 Intertwined links of metal which drape the body. The metallic rings used in Chainmail are capable of deflecting many blades, and even weaker projectiles, though those with especially small points will be able to slip between the rings. The expense of such armor typically restricts it to Military use.
Scalemail Armor Tier 6 Overlapping layers of metal which drape the body. While this suffers from an added level of weight in comparison to Chainmail, it is nevertheless lighter than Plate, and provides fair protection against most common forms of slashing or piercing damage.
Plate Armor Tier 8 Full sheets of metal comprise this suit of knightly armor, granting it a level of unmatched durability in combat. Few weapons are capable of piercing the tough hide of Plate armor, though the joints are typically exposed to allow for ease-of-movement. This is easily the most expensive and weightiest form of available armor, and is thus typically restricted to the wealthy.
Shields Tier 3 Any of a group of wielded metal or wooden implements which are used to deflect or stop missiles or to lessen the intensity of incoming blows. The weight and general durability of a shield depend greatly on the material used to manufacture it.

Iron Default Iron is often used in the production of inexpensive, durable items like armor and weapons. Iron is also used in a number of furniture pieces, construction, accessory pieces, and many other things. This metal is very dull, both in appearance and combat, though the latter depends on the craftsmen.
Steel Tier 4 Steel is a higher grade of metal used in the making of various armor and weapon items. Though it is a higher grade of metal, it is not indestructible. It's durability is better than Iron, and is resistant against almost all basic, common crafted weapons. Steel appears shiny, compared to Iron, but runs the risk of rusting and/or tarnishing, especially on long journeys. This is, however, dependent on the craftsmen.
Cobalt Tier 4 Cobalt metal is very sleek and shiny, appearing black, grey, or dark brown in color. Cobalt is a better form of metal preferred by armor and weapon crafters. Easy to work into shape and pleasant in appearance, Cobalt metal is most commonly used within militarys across Idalos not only for its beauty, but for its price and durability.
Malorite Tier 9 Malorite is what's known as Star Metal, in Idalos. Star metal is hard to come back, often found in the most unlikely of places. It is very hard to craft it into strong armor because of its rarity, however, it is known to withstand the sharpest of blades. Malorite, when worked over, appears to glisten as if it gave off its own light. Translucent and seemingly starlit, Malorite is coveted by many.
Embersteel Tier 5 Embersteel is a metal whose compound contains hits of metals that give it a smoldering appearance when worked over and set. Surprisingly, Embersteel is stronger than Steel, however, weighs much more than Cobalt, Iron, or Steel, making it unfavorable to most.
Tienite Tier 8 Tienite is known by another name: Glacier Ore. Tienite is only found in the most remote of places, one being Oscillus. It is rumored that Treid's living body affects the land around him, thus giving nature an ethereal radiance of blue and white. Even after smelting down the ore, Tienite still radiates the same ethereal blue and white, making the wearers appear surreal and divine. Tienite is as durable as Embersteel, light weight, and easily worked. However, due to it's rarity within the other regions of Idalos, this ore is priced at an exuberant amount.
Adamantite Tier 6 Adamantite is an uncommon metal, harvested in remote locations around mountains, specifically Sirothelle. Adamantite is said to hold special properties within the metal compounds that allow it to slice through even the sharpest, strongest of things. However, this effect is based off of the craftsmen and the compounds within the metal. This metal can yield strong, sharp blades or dull, breakable blades. Adamantite is mainly used for weapons though it is malleable and can be used for armor purposes. This metal appears as a burgundy color when finished.
Geminite Tier 4 Geminite is ore found deep within mountains, it's properties very rarely found in the world. Appearing as the cross between diamond and glass, Geminite seems like liquid water, transparent and smooth, when being made into items. This metal is highly durable and is easily hammered into other metals while still keeping it's glassy appearance. Geminite easily takes on the color of other metals incorporated into it and makes for a lovely fashion piece.
Crystalline Tier 2 Crystalline is another ore with strange properties, however common compared to Geminite. Crystalline can be found in caves, caverns, and pretty much anywhere dark and cold. It appears in many colors ranging from shades of pale green and purple to cream colors and the rarity, white. Crystalline can be transparent, depending on the craftmenship, but must be incorporated with other metals. It's durability is weaker than Iron and in most cases, it serves as a better use for jewelry and accessories. However, if fashioned with other metals, Crystalline can appear mesmerizing to the eye.
Blood Metal Tier 2 Blood metal appears deep black with a reddish tint to it and can be found near volcanoes, both active or inactive. It is a very light weight, malleable metal, often used in sheets as a lining to reinforce armor. Common and fairly priced, blood metal tends to take over the coloration of other metals, if molded with other metals.
Idalinium Tier 1 Another common metal, Idalinium can be harvested from pretty much anywhere in the world. It appears light grey in color, is very malleable and very easy to work with. It is another metal preferred by craftsmen.
Corvantite Priceless This is a special metal only obtained through circumstances by which involve Immortal beings. Corvantite is a metal that, even after fashioned into items, appears to have captured the wind. Beneath the surface, the colors are always moving. Not much in known of this metal, only that it is every seen on the Champions of the Immortals.
Euvomine Priceless Euvomine is another metal only given from an Immortal. However, the metal comes very brittle and breaks easily. It is not meant to be hammered into armor but sprinkled upon it. This metal is able to fuse on contact with other metals without staining or discoloring the item. The metal itself has special properties only known by the Immortal it came from.
Minithelite Tier 3 Minithelite is an uncommon metal produced from the bottom of the Oceans. It is often worn by the Euri and contains compounds that allow the metal to blend into different locations, no matter the environment. However, Minithelite is very soft, light weight, and breakable. For this, the metal is often used by tailors to craft items of concealment.
Ghost Metal Tier 8 To be updated
Sorelian Steel TBD To be updated
Copper Tier 1 Highly conductive to electricity, relatively cheap and malleable, Copper is a go-to for basic tools and implements. Lowers the cost of armor and weapons by one Tier if used in place of Iron.
Lead Tier 2 An exceptionally heavy, and fairly durable metal.
Bronze Tier 1 Relatively cheap and malleable, Bronze stands alongside Copper as a go-to for basic tools and implements, and may even be forged into armament. Lowers the cost of armor and weapons by one Tier if used in place of Iron.
    Tin TBD To be updated
Gold Tier 7 A shiny stone valued for its beauty. It is an incredibly soft metal, and thus a poor choice for any non-decorative implement.
Silver Tier 6 Another shiny stone valued for its beauty. It is not typically found in non-decorative implements.

For the purposes of this section, the number of items you may purchase is limited, in the following manner. If the vessel you are purchasing is at your Wealth Tier, then you may buy 1 per Arc. No matter what Wealth Tier you are at, a boat is a major investment. For vessels below your Wealth Tier, you may buy 1 + 1 for each Tier below the item is, but unless the vessel is more than four Tiers below yours, this is instead of your once an Arc purchase. More than four Tiers below, this can be as well as. This is explained in the table below.

    Items

Boat Name Tier Available Crew Passengers Notes / Information
Canoe Tier 2 1. None. Usually pointed at both ends, this lightweight, narrow vessel is propelled by a single, seated or kneeling paddler facing in the direction they wish to travel. Characters use canoes for recreational sports, leisure fishing, exploring caves, and crossing small lakes or rivers within their chosen city. Also referred to as a dugout, canoes can be crafted from tree logs by novice shipwrights.
Rowboat Tier 3 1 No more than 3. A rowboat is propelled forwards by one or more individuals using oars, attached to the boat through open metal rings called horns, which are fixed to either side of the boat via an oarlock. Rowboats are used on lakes, rivers, and to transport people or goods to bigger boats anchored near the shoreline. Some characters might choose to use them for recreational fishing.
Fishing Boat Tier 3 1 Up to 6. The humble finishing boat is used much like the rowboat, but can carry up to six grown men, and has enough room to bait and set hooks or traps for crayfish and crabs. Unlike the rowboat, people are able to stand up in this vessel without falling out. Many larger boats keep a couple of these boats for getting between their ship and the shore easily, or exploring unchartered waters to evaluate the water depth and safety.
Sloop Tier 4 1 Up to 4 Used primarily for sailing along the coastlines or up rivers of a character’s chosen city, though they are perfectly capable of sea travel, a sloop is a single mast fore and aft rig vessel. It has one large mainsail and a much smaller boom sail (headsail) aft of the mast. The mainsail is also called the jib (a triangular staysail that sets ahead of the foremast of a sailing vessel) or genoa jib (a large jib or foresail) located forward of the mast.
Ketch Tier 5 2 Up to 10 A ketch is bigger than a sloop as it has two masts instead of one. The forward mainmast is always larger than the after mast (often referred to as the mizzen). They are commonly used as a freighter or fishing vessel, and much like the sloop, are most commonly for following the coastlines of a character’s chosen city, or island hopping, though sea travel is still fully possible.
Keel Boat Tier 5 4 Up to 20 A large, flat-bottomed, river cargo, ferryboat with shallow structural keels, these boats are only used on big rivers or lakes for transporting people or cargo, such as, logs, horses, crops, materials, and wagons. Usually long and narrow, the keelboat is often unsheltered and is treated as a barge. The keelboat is perfect for navigating shallow waters that other boats can’t move through.
Long Ship Tier 6 21 - 41 Up to 45 These graceful ships have a shallow draft which allows for navigation in water only four feet deep and can land on sandy beaches without taking damage. Being double-ended means they can reserve with ease and change direction quickly, making them perfect for sailing in cold waters where icebergs and sea ice becomes a problem. Oars are fitted along the length of the boat and include a single mast and large, square sail.
Schooner Tier 6 2 - 6 Up to 10 A vessel with two or more masts with fore and aft sails, the foremast being the shorter of the two and never taller than the mizzen if one is present. This ship will get a character from one continent to the next, but in unsafe waters, is a risky choice for long distant travel. Schooners are fast, enabling them to outrun and outmaneuver some of the bigger ships on the ocean, including the cog ship, a favourite among pirates.
Cog Ship Tier 7 10 50 A single masted vessel with a square-rigged single sail, the cog ship is used namely for seagoing trade and long distance journeys. Cog ships can carry and transport a large volume of goods and are very popular among pirates and other ne'er do wells who like to use them for carrying all of their treasures wherever they go. They are also used by the navy to transport prisoners in custom cells built under the main deck.
Brig Tier 8 12 - 16 up to 60 A large vessel with two square-rigged masts and are known to be fast and manoeuvrable, making them the perfect warship or merchant vessel. A brig is distinct from a three-masted ship by virtue of only having two masts. Often equipped with many cannons (up to ten on each side), pirates tend to steer clear of these naval ships that are popular in northern and western parts of Idalos, such as, Rynmere and Ne’haer.
Galleon Tier 9 30 350 A large warship, the galleon is a lot slower than the brig, but also very popular among pirates and wealthy merchants for its large cargo storage. Twice as fast as the cog ship (if it isn’t overloaded with loot), and a lot more manoeuvrable, able to stand rough sea storms and the odd hole from cannon fire, even the Mer prefer not to mess with these ships, generally able to go wherever the water is deep enough to house them.
Tallship Tier 10 60 220 square-rigged and is often referred to as a full-rigged ship, collier, or frigate. The masts include a foremast (second tallest), mainmast (the tallest), mizzenmast (third tallest), and a jiggermast (the shortest mast if indeed present). It has a minimum of twenty sails and is very demanding of its crew.
