Appearance

Zahkron are a silvery grey color with a glowing core in their chest. The color of the core is different for each Zahkron and can be almost any color. They are quadrapedal but can stand on their back feet for short periods. They have four heads, each with a set of horns that hug close to their skulls. They often, but not always since not all Zakhron evolve them, have wings.

LIfespan and Development

Zahkron hatch from small egg clusters that look like crystals. These clusters merge into a single egg just before they hatch. These eggs can survive in almost any conditions and are extremely hard to damage, rendering Zahkron among the easiest Dragonlings to hatch. They grow to maturity in a very short time, only a single year, and can live for up to four centuries. In their last few years of life, they become belligerent and are prone to picking fights with younger Zahkron if they feel the younger dragonling is a threat. Very few Zahkron die of old age, since they are often killed by younger Zahkron due to the weakness of age. Those that do are given special honors by Vielkrontier for managing such a feat.

Abilities

Zahkron are huge, but aside from the raw strength this affords and the obvious advantages that come from having four heads, the abilities of a Zahkron are hard to pin down, as they tend to evolve differently, depending on the needs of their Bearers. The only consistent is that they can have up to four different breath powers, each assigned to a different head, but the one they start with is random, mimicking that of one of the other dragonling flights. New breath powers are gained as the Bearer progresses through Vielkrontier's Effigy.

Temperament

Zahkron are short-tempered, irritable and violent. While they won't harm children, owing to their young age, they share in Vielkrontier's disdain for weakness. This leads them to be poorly behaved in crowds if their Bearer doesn't keep them under control, as they will attack those they consider weak. They are smart, however, and very loyal to their riders, only very rarely disobeying orders. They can even be affectionate if they've been with their Bearer a long time, but don't like to show it to others.
