Flight!
The cold season was a ways off yet, but Winston was bussy preparing some of the lists of ingredients he'd need for Saiore's Gifting. It was going to be the most epic thing he had ever done in his entire life and he was going to absolutely nail it or die trying.
"Seven bags sir?" Confirmed Shinwa as he took notes.
"Yup. Seven. An' don't yuh let klem give yuh de robbish stuff. Yuh tell 'im me will be checkin' every bag, yeah? I remember wat 'e tried to sell yuh last time an me nat gonna 'ave et again."
"Very good, sir. Only the things from the left side of the stall that have been out for no longer then two trials and hidden from exposure to the sunset." The master chef nodded.
Some time passed as the alchemy took hold and with
"Should I inform the miss that you will be out?" The butler enquired as the ferret clearly looked to be off for an experiment.
"Yeah, please, Shin. Ef yuh cun let Cho know also. 'e shud be comin' back nay time now wid da stoff far Mr Woe's shield." Winston looked over at the plans. After Kisaik's shield, he'd developed quite to talent for them and this one was pushing the boundaries of his alchemy and smithing once more. There were a few small bucklers already made, each one working on the slight variations in the handle and grip.
"Of course, sir."
"Me new Weightlessness Chews are ready far testing!" Winston rubbed his paws together excitedly. He had designed them to temporarily reduce the effects of gravity, and he couldn't wait to try them out.
"What shud me call dem Shin?" He said as he waggled a tray at them to get them to cool more quickly.
"I'm quite sure I couldn't even begin to imagine." He replied in a dry but interested tone.
"'ow aboooouuuut... Weaghlessness Chews?"
"To the points, very good, sir."
The ferret sucked air in through his teeth. "Yeeeaah. Tuh practical. Toh 'an de nose', mun."
The butler simply nodded and handed the ferret his missing gauntlet, which he quickly attached with a little help. "Me really need tuh work out a way tuh get this aumor an mar quickly." He complained, as he was helped with a few straps at the back.
Stepping out of
"De bracelet please Shinwa, ef yuh wud?" The tall Wisp handed the small circlet of alchemical metal, fashioned into a crude bracelet to the ferret and on touching it, he felt himself become light as a feather, nothing but the weight of the light armor now holding him down.
He let a little more energy into the suite now, activating all the thrusters gently at first and using his hands to maintain his balance. He ascended into the air a few feet before beginning to spin around in circles. He cut the power and allowed himself to freefall the few feet to the ground again, landing with a little roll.
He chuckled. "Well dat cun 'ave gone betta." He looked around himself. "Made a lat af mess too. Me tink de armour will need tuh be weightless also, oddswise me will drap outta de sky all de time."
"Not good for one's health, sir." Observed Shinwa in a composed manner as he brushed some water off his shoulder.
"It works though!" He cheered, turning the thrusters back on and again trying to hover, this time choosing a direction to travel in, though still spinning. Guiding himself with subtle shifts in posture, Winston glided clumsily through the air.
Getting bolder, he tried adding a little hight. It was not hard, as the suite was light and he was weightless, but it was very easy to lose control. With the chews, normal laws of physics no longer applied and he enjoyed the benefits of having no mass as he thumped into Chest and careened off across the open clearing to crash-land.
He played for the rest of the afternoon until the effects started wearing off and he had to start to fire up his jets a little too much to stay aloft. Touching down by Chest, brimming with excitement, he let out a little breath of exhaustion. "Wat an astounding test ron, Chest!" Winston declared. "Dough I tink de armor could use some refinement... Needs tuh use wind an' beh weightless far shar..."
Shinwa was long gone, to arrange the supplies Winston needed and so Chest simply shuffled in place, sharing nothing of its opinion of the ferret's antics. The ground was absolutely sodden, with water everywhere. "Hmmmm... Angela es nat gonna be pleased wid me Chest." He admitted with a cheeky little smile.
"What on Idalos?..." Exclaimed
"Yeah, mun. Jost watch out far de... Uhhh... Everything. Me 'ave bene trying out de flying." He was himself drenched, but warm thanks to the suits design.
"Glad to see you survived... Hey Chest, could you do me a favour and come over here?" The legged luggage sploshed and slid it's way over ot the boy so that he could get in without havign to trevers the mess Winston had made. "I'll see you inside, ok? I got the black sand you wanted from that trader in town.
The ferret waved in thanks and started taking off his gear. His mind was already buzzing with ideas for his next batch. Perhaps something to heighten his reflexes? Or adding a touch of flamboyance with some rainbow colours? With these Weightlessness Chews, the sky was literally the limit for what hijinks Winston could get up to. The possibilities were endless.
"OK, time tuh make dis Armor weightless and make an 'elmet me tink." He said to Chest as he climbed back in. It was going to take some time and then he needed to create an entirely new suit from scratch that use wind-wells... and fir THAT he needed to get some wind-well! Oh the fun he was going to have!
There was a very specific time and place you find the best things and when spirits were concerned, they very rarely made sense.
He hummed cheerfully as he tinkered at his workbench, carefully measuring out ingredients for his latest alchemical creation. "Jost a pinch af powdered [ooc=These are a Primary resource in Sweetsong so I can access these within my Wealth Teir]Peganat[/ooc], an a spoonful af caffeine as an accelerant. Some coppa, infused with Peganat essence far de trigga... Hehe... Dis will doh nicely." he muttered. With his tongue poking out the side of his mouth. He stirred the concoction thoroughly until it became a smooth, creamy paste under the influence of the alchemical forge as he began to sing and work the magic. Some time passed as the alchemy took hold and with
Smokie's
assistance, he worked the properties he wanted into the food, with a little 'shimmering' from some polished metal for fun.
"Perfect!" he declared, scooping the pale blue paste into small bite-sized pieces and shaping them into harden balls on a tray. Before long, he had a pile of crystal-like chews that seemed to glow and shimmer faintly."Should I inform the miss that you will be out?" The butler enquired as the ferret clearly looked to be off for an experiment.

Donning his water jet suit
, Winston popped one of the chews into his mouth and headed outside. "Yuh know..." He said, as he chewed. "...me cud go far someting like Floaty Chew? Ar Floaty-light Chew! Yes! Dat's gat a gud ring tuh et."The butler simply nodded and handed the ferret his missing gauntlet, which he quickly attached with a little help. "Me really need tuh work out a way tuh get this aumor an mar quickly." He complained, as he was helped with a few straps at the back.
Stepping out of

and into the open, he activated the jetpack ever so gently to check it was working. Water splatted all over the floor."De bracelet please Shinwa, ef yuh wud?" The tall Wisp handed the small circlet of alchemical metal, fashioned into a crude bracelet to the ferret and on touching it, he felt himself become light as a feather, nothing but the weight of the light armor now holding him down.

He slide across the floor, tumbling and giggling as he did.
Emboldened, Winston decided to try some aerial acrobatics. He started with a somersault, without any jets and landed it fairly well. he then did another, but this time just a short burst from the thigh-jets to gain extra height. He flipped, twisted, and tumbled through the sky with a little "WEEEEEEEE!", contorting his body into shapes only a ferret could. After an inverted quadruple somersault, Winston finally hit the ground, though not with his feet. "OOOOF! Dat's gonna take some practice. Getting started es moch easier den getting stapped." He admitted as he rubbed his head. "An me REALLY need tuh make myself an 'elmet." This was the most fun he'd had in seasons, despite the mess.He played for the rest of the afternoon until the effects started wearing off and he had to start to fire up his jets a little too much to stay aloft. He said it was fresh from Faldrass.
