Born in the waters of Changeling's Boneyard, this rather curious and eager little frog-man is easy to get along with and wants to meet the people of Idalos from all walks of life. Setting out to meet with these very people during the remembrance of one such hero, he was first among the Igelak to set his feet on the ground amidst the land-dwelling peoples of Rharne.

Labelled by his tribe early on in his maturity as someone able to mix with drinks, potions and people alike, he was given the name of "Mixly" to mark his trade as a mixologist. Since then, he has developed a taste for talk, drinks and of course, has fallen into the role of a barman of almost unparalleled popularity amidst his regulars.

Currently working at Winston's Waterhole, he is always happy to greet the next story teller to the stools that sit at his bar.

Appearance

Hal has olive-green skin and large bulbous eyes a per most of his kin, but perpetually equipped with a patent and contented expression.

Standing around 5 foot in height, he takes great pride in his appearance and is almost exclusively found wearing something in 'the current fashion' wherever that may be. Recently having discovered the ability to gift his clothes with water resistance, he's exploded into the world of Idalos fashion, in and out of the water, with a jubilance that might seem childlike and never ending.

Fast Friends

This Igelak has a knack for making friends, a skill he has developed into a calling according to some. If you asked him though it would all just boil down to the fact, as he claims, that everyone has friends and becoming one is just a matter of time and shared experiences.

Whether he realises it or not, he has the special ability to break the ice and connect to people right off the bat. There is something about his patient and amiable demeanor that is disarming and appealing to just about anyone. Unless resisted (this take little to no actual effort, just a genuine reason/reluctance to want to shun the attempts of the chap to befriend you) most that meet him are inclined to treat him with fondness as a first response.

Mechanical notes:
  • This quirk exclusively applied to the Igalek's first encounter with a person. After the 'first impressions' are done, the ongoing relationship with a person is entirely down to the lasting impression their interactions normally provide.
  • NPCs: This usually works well on NPCs, making them inclined to believe the frog-man could be good to know, become friends with or useful to have around on first meeting.
  • PC: As always, the affect is anything up to the NPC affect above, but can of course be considered with all due freedom to play your PC as you see fit.

His eyes are dark and sharp, ringed by dark brown fur upon the bright white fur that sets off across the rest of his face.

Background
Seriah is one of Chrien's chosen, marked by a small, scale-like birthmark behind his left ear that occasionally glows with a faint, golden light. As one of the Mer that Winston saved from the brink of death with Vega’s help, she was found in the hidden pirate den in Scalvoris before being returned to the hatchery. Severely injured and seemingly lifeless, her recovery was a long and arduous process, but thanks to the two heroes, she was brought back to life.

As a survivor, deeply grateful to Winston, their relationship is complex given the history of their kin. While she respects and admires him for saving her, she is somewhat distant and reserved. In her culture, survival is expected, and bonds are slow to form due to the Mer’s bitterness from abandonment by their creator, Chrien. Seriah struggles with balancing her desire for independence and her loyalty to Winston, feeling she owes him her life but wanting to find her own path.

As a member of the Akktava (known for their information-gathering skills) her octopeadal nature makes her suited to crafting and utilising her tentacles for delicate tasks. Her skills with medicine and psychology, unusual for her tribe, could make her a valued asset, but also set her apart from other Akktava who are primarily focused on espionage and survival in the darkest depths.

Motivation
Seriah is driven by a desire to find balance between her ties to Winston and her kin’s need for independence. She struggles to reconcile her role in the Akktava tribe with her personal journey of healing. Her goal is to prove herself as more than just the Mer that Winston saved, becoming a healer in her own right while maintaining her loyalty to her tribe and bringing a new understanding of her kin to Idalos!

Appearance

Seriah upper body is humanoid with light-blue/purple skin, while her lower body consists of eight octopus-like tentacles, each adorned with vibrant markings that reflect her tropical heritage. Her skin shimmers subtly, especially around her eyes and the tips of her tentacles. Her presence is ethereal, often appearing as though she belongs more to the shadows of the deep than the surface world.

Personality

Seriah is calm and curious, often contemplative, as if constantly observing the emotions around her. Her serene exterior hides a deep-seated anxiety about abandonment, stemming from the Mer's collective trauma of being forsaken by their creator, Chrien. She constantly seeks to understand others, trying to repair the emotional rifts that plague her tribe and the wider Mer community. This empathy extends to Winston, who she views as a beacon of stability in her life.

Despite her reluctance to show vulnerability, Seriah is fiercely loyal to those she cares for, particularly Winston. Having seen, first hand, what can come from offering help to others in the face of absurdity, she is convinced that their is more to be had from forming strong bonds with others then living a solitary and isolated existence. She can become frustrated with Winston at times, especially when she feels he's being overprotective, but she would never abandon him. Their bond is both a strength and a weight for her, as she navigates her young life.

Rainbow Explosives

These can and will do no harm, they simply explode with a little popping sound with impact and create a blast radius inside which everything is turned rainbow coloured. The radius is not large, but increases with volume. A cup of the stuff would be enough to colour a room if it exploded.

Glowing Sound Food

This food is most affective in the dark. When sound is detected, it glows in various colours, in accordance with the desires of the alchemist during creation.

Rainbow Brownie Crackers

These rainbow coloured crackers smell and taste of freshly baked brownies and when consumed turn the person all the colours of the rainbow. Further to this the eater farts rainbow coloured glitter for a short period of time after eating them.

They are extremely delicious (Cooking GM) to both people and Fairies/Spirits (thanks for Winston's Fairy Ambrosia Capstone), as he took the care to ensure the ingredients contained something that spirits would like.

Rainbow Rice

Rainbow rice, as per the sand from which it gets it colourful appearance, is all the colours of the rainbow and when a spoonful is taken, it transforms from whatever colour it had been while in the dish, to again display all the colours of the rainbow in itself. This will cocure down to the last individual gain of rice, i.e. if you remove one grain, it too will then change to include all of the colours of the rainbow until it is returned to the dish with the rest of the rice.

Floaty-light Chews

This delicious little sweets are light blue and shimmer slightly in the light. When consumed they grant the individual the ability to turn weightless while in contact with a specific Alchemical Agent made of Peganot and Copper. The effect can be used for several breaks.

Fire Protection Chews

This chew prevents you from catching fire and also keeps your body at a temperate temperature even when in extreme heat. It also help protect you against the effects of smoke inhalation (using learnings from the Orange Crush in Rharne). Note: The chew does not affect your clothes! Only YOU! And does not prevent the need to breath, so if you are in a fire long term, you may suffocate! This requires Master Alchemy to reproduce.

These chewable and delicious sweets increase the density of the person that eats the Chew, making them mildly resistant to harm. It can be considered to be similar in affect to a Heavy Leather Armour.

Superior Iron-skin Chews

These brown, chewable and delicious sweets (Cooking GM) increase the density of the person that eats the Chew, making them mildly resistant to harm. It can be considered to be similar in effect to a Heavy Leather Armour. They also offer the consumer fire resistance and will remain fresh and usable for an extended period of time thanks to their preservative properties. When consumed, the individual momentarily shimmers all the colours of the rainbow and for the duration of the chew (which is a few breaks) whenever the individual is struck, the area struck flashes with a rainbow-coloured shimmer.

Super-Stealth Chews

12 x Super-Stealth Chews: These Alchemical 'chews' are delicious (GM Cooking) and give the person that consumes them the ability to blend into their surroundings, becoming odorless and hushed for a short period of time, even when moving. The affect is not absolute and the individual is far from invisible, further more, moving without care would make the individual obvious to most once again. This being said, they make the consumer untrackable by scent and far less likely to be heard even when moving through tricky terrain.

Mechanically:
  • This will increase you Steal Skill by one competence level.
  • Make it impossible to track you by scent (as you don';t have one).
  • Reduce any noise made when moving, resulting in an almost silent passing even though mild obstructions.

Lesser Alchemical Healing Chew

These chews harness the healing capabilities of the Emperor Bat to heal up moderate wounds. The process is slow, taking several bits to complete fully, but the healing effect begins to stabilizes the wound and the patient from the moment it is taken. Warning: The process is debilitatingly painful, preventing but even the most resilient of individuals (Expert Endurance) from doing anything during the healing process.

Greater Alchemical Healing Chew

This recipe makes a single healing chew that is capable of healing Major wounds and even regrowing a recently lost (within 10 breaks of the loss) limb. The process would still be extremely painful were it not for the sedative affect of the chew that puts the patient to sleep throughout the process. After a single Break (hour) or rest a single limb can be restored to a living creature.

  • Limb(s) must have been lost within the last 10 trials.
  • Puts the victim to sleep for around one break (hour).
