Re: New Price List Feedback

Well I've only gotten to edibles but I say perhaps for 1wp the PC gets increasing amounts of whatever they're trying to buy? So with edibles, for example, at 1wp a PC gets ten days' worth of food 1 tier above them. So for 1wp, they might get, for example 20 days' worth of food for their own tier; 30 days' worth of food for their tier -1, and so on and on. It probably could work similarly for the other sections of the shoppe, though we might have to figure it out on a case by case basis.

Or if that's too much (for edibles specifically), we could go 15 20 25... rather than 20 30 40...

Re: New Price List Feedback

Some questions about the clothes section.

1. When it says someone at that tier can buy new outfits (as opposed to replacing like with like) do those outfits replace their current ones, or are they in addition? And how does that interact with the maximum for that tier?

2. Do outfits bought with wp count towards the maximum?

3. Do shoes/boots count as part of an indoor outfit or outdoor outfit?

4. What happens when someone goes up or down tiers? Do they keep their previous tier outfits and add the new tier's to them? Are existing outfits counted towards the maximum? How is buying power affected?

Examples: a. Tommy the wilderness pc is tier 1, with 2 poor outfits. He grabs his 2 new outfits/arc. Does he now have 4 outfits or 2?

b. Tommy moves up to tier 2 and can now have 3 poor or 1 poor and 1 basic. Plus 2 poor outfits or one basic per arc. He still has his 2/4 outfits from tier 1. How many outfits does he get to add, and does he get the new outfit from tier 2, or is his arc's buying allowance already spent?

c. Jack the wage earning captain buys a ship with wp and drops a few tiers from tier 7 to tier 4. Does he keep the good clothes from his higher tier and add the basic clothes from the lower tier to those, or do the outfits he already has max out the number he is allowed to have?

They are an addition. It doesn't say buy, it actually does say add. From the wiki:
Their Wealth Tier allows them to replace like for like every cycle if necessary, and to add two new basic-quality outfits per arc.
The maximum is meant to be a starting maximum. Someone at Tier 3, when they come into the tier, may start the tier with a maximum of 3 outfits of basic quality. I can change the language if it isn't clear.
Kyreen wrote:2. Do outfits bought with wp count towards the maximum?
No, because it's a starting maximum. :)
Kyreen wrote:3. Do shoes/boots count as part of an indoor outfit or outdoor outfit?
Either / or, I would imagine. An indoor outfit is just the clothing we wear everyday. I think boots would be included in that. An outdoor outfit is clothing you would need, in say, Zi'da. It's extra stuff-- coat, hat, what have you.
Kyreen wrote:4. What happens when someone goes up or down tiers? Do they keep their previous tier outfits and add the new tier's to them? Are existing outfits counted towards the maximum? How is buying power affected?
They keep their previous tier outfits and add the new tier's. However, they may opt not use the old outfits if they don't want to. It's up to the player.

How is buying power affected? What do you mean? If you go up a tier you buy as if you are at that tier, because you are at that tier? Or maybe I'm not understanding.

a. Tommy has 4 outfits. It's additional.

b. He gets all the outfits the tier describes. He keeps his clothing from tier 1 and adds the clothing from tier 2. In this case he gets to add either 3 outfits of poor quality (in which case he would have 7 outfits) or 1 of poor and 1 of basic (in which case he would have six).

The question about collecting clothes from arcs is interesting. In Example a, if Tommy collected 2 new outfits per arc it would mean that he'd been playing at tier 1 for an arc.
In example b, then, he would need to wait an arc after becoming tier 2 to collect tier 2's additional clothes.

Tommy staying at tier 1 for an arc (while actively playing) would almost deserve a medal because it's so easy to get from tier 1 to tier 2. Tommy would have to willingly be staying at 0-5 wp for an ARC to get his additional outfits, and that's just so hard to do I don't know if most players (while actively playing) could accomplish it. If a player is doing wealth threads, they should be out of tier 1 in 3 seasons. And I could see a player easily getting out of tier 1 within a season, if they wanted.

Lol, anyways. Got on a tangent.

c. He keeps the good clothes from his higher tier. He gets to add the clothes from tier 4, should he want to.

Pegasus, please step in if any of my answers are incorrect. But whatever tier you are at, those are the clothes you are due. We decided long ago, I believe, that people wouldn't lose their stuff for dropping tiers (which would be unfair) and I don't see why they would lose their stuff for going up tiers (which also seems unfair).

In the scenario you gave, Tommy having, what 7 outfits at tier 2 sounds like a lot. But it's after a year of play, and they are poor-quality or, at the most, basic-quality outfits. It's not a lot, when you think about it.

Okay, so. I should probably add that the once per arc thing is after you've been playing in that tier for an arc. And also add that it's a starting maximum-- a limitation on how many outfits you're allowed to have coming into the tier, not total.

Thanks! ^_^

Vega's skin has a reflective metallic sheen with a red glow. Her eyes still swirl biqaj colours, but one colour is always bright red which glows like fire. She has a bright red glow in her chest, situated directly under the mark of a heart (Daia mark) in the middle of a glowing silver dragon on her chest (Xiur). She's unnaturally warm to the touch

Re: New Price List Feedback

It does bring up the question, if you are still here Winged Lady, if the starting maximums are affected by the clothes a PC already has. Say a PC is Tier 4, they collect their Tier 4 clothing, they go up to Tier 5, collect the Tier 5 clothing, then drop again to Tier 4. Do they get the starting clothes from Tier 4 again, or no bc they basically already have them?

I'm saying no bc they already have them. But what do you think?

Re: New Price List Feedback

yeah, people have got what they've got. I think, end of the day it's a) too complicated and b) just a case of trusting the players to not take it to silly levels so we have to stomp.

Thanks for all the answers. I interpreted the once per arc as "at any time during the arc" rather than "after an arc". Eg, Tommy starting with two summer-weight outfits in Saun, and adding a couple of winter-weight ones once it got colder.

Though I'd note that it may not be as hard to stay at tier as you're suggesting - any Wilderness pc can stay at one tier by not putting points into their wealth skill, rather than not being active - I agree that it's unlikely.

I see your point. I tend to forget about wilderness PCs and the like, whoops.

Hey, if you don't mind, will you look over the new wording on the clothing section and see if it's clear and not too wordy?
