Goku nodded in agreement as he listened to Luvi's recounting of her own experience with the rune of savoring. "Yeah, it's definitely a fascinating effect," he replied, his tone filled with genuine interest. He couldn't help but feel a sense of validation in their shared progress.

As Luvi mentioned the bonfire, Goku's thoughts briefly turned to the chilly outdoors, but the prospect of spending more time with her outweighed his discomfort. "I'd love to come," he said with a smile, pushing aside his reservations about the cold. "I'm finally feeling fully warmed up anyway."

With a satisfied stretch, Goku rose from his seat, feeling invigorated by their exploration of magic. "I'm ready to go whenever you are," he added. Despite the minor mishap Luvi experienced, Goku was grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside her. He looked forward to the adventures that awaited them, both in magic and in friendship. His first mage friend since his mentor was turning out to be well worth his time.

Goku took the opportunity to add more wood to the crackling fire since it looks like the task had only been partly completed. With practiced ease, he carefully arranged the logs, ensuring they would catch fire and provide ample warmth for their return. Moving the logs was fairly easy for him with his own strength runes.

He’d likely have at least an hour to burn so he’d sit back down by the fire and relax. He didn’t know how to make the time go by less awkwardly but it was a good half hour walk to his inn, so it made more sense for him to stay. He kept his vision fixed on the fire in case Illuvia had to change clothes and only adjusted his position if his wings were causing him discomfort.

Luvi nodded, appreciating Goku's willingness to accompany her to the bonfire later. "I'm glad you're sticking around," she said, a hint of relief coloring her tone. It wasn’t as if she didn’t have other friends going to the bonfire, but she didn’t want him to think their relationship only had to be about magic. As Goku busied himself with the fire, adding more wood to ensure its warmth upon their return, Luvi excused herself to change into her outdoor clothes, mindful of the chill that awaited them outside. Luvi then reclaimed her original seat near the now vigorously burning fire.

"I think I'll try to meditate for a bit," she told Goku, settling into a more comfortable position. "There's something I want to explore further."

Luvi closed her eyes and began to focus inward, her breathing slow and deliberate. The excitement and even the pain from her earlier mishap with the touch rune—all of it faded into the background as she sought a deeper connection with her spark.

In the quiet of her mind, Luvi revisited the sensation she had experienced while working with the rune of touch. She felt something apart from just the sensitivity; it was a feeling deep within herself, a potential that she had only just begun to tap into. She recalled the spark of excitement, the almost instinctual knowledge that there was more to her abilities than she had previously understood.

As she delved further into her meditation, Luvi focused on this internal sensation, this untapped reservoir of knowledge. She wondered if, through meditation, she could not only connect more deeply with her spark but also unlock the ability to learn and understand runes in a way she hadn't considered before. The idea was daunting, suggesting a path of learning that she had never even considered before.

The more she concentrated, the more Luvi felt a sense of clarity and purpose. It was as if the very act of meditating was bridging gaps in her understanding and revealing new possibilities for her magic. She ultimately was unable to learn another rune, but she had a very good feeling that it would be possible if she applied herself in the future.

Before she knew it, it was time to leave. She opened her eyes with a yawn and glanced over at Goku. “Let’s go.”

Gotta admit, this surprised me. Your layout could use some work - get a template, trust me, they make everything look more polished and more fun to read - but your actual story? Not bad at all. Nice to see a little domesticity from Illuvia as well as her martial endevours! Often overlooked here, believe it or not. Although some writers here do have quite the culinary portfolio in their stories. Hmm. Kinda inspires me to add a recipe to one of mine some day... anyway!
