Maebella is on the smaller side for an Eídisi at a little over 6 foot but her stature makes her stand out in a crowd of humans, especially compared to other women. She is quite slim although if viewed without the characteristically heavy furs common to Viden, one sees that her limbs are corded with lean muscle, hinting at a great potential of strength. However, she is also made distinctive by her soft blue skin, which also carries some pale green undertones. Her hair is a darker shade than her skin, a smoke-tinged blue. However, that might not be immediately apparent given that she keeps it cut in a short, spiked style less than two inches in length.
One probably wouldn't class Maebella as beautiful, her features angular and made to appear sharper by the cut of her hair, but she could certainly be called handsome. Her cheekbones are high and clear cut, her nose narrow and pointed and her chin tapers thinly before finally flattening. Her brows are fine and often arched in an incredulous way that does little to soften her haughty appearance, especially given that her thin lips are often pursed into an even slimmer line. One might think that she was carved out of blue-tinged ice; her eyes seem like winter itself, the white void beyond like staring into a heavy snowstorm.
While the eidisi can be found clad in thick furs in varying shades of grey, the young woman favours darker shades, sometimes making her appear similar to a heavy storm cloud.

Like others of her race, Maebella is intelligent and her knowledge of that fact can sometimes make her arrogant, considering herself superior to many of those that she comes across. Furthermore, she's confident that she has the necessary tools through her natural abilities, education, and access to resources, to enable her to unravel the mystery of the Great Shattering. However, she isn't arrogant enough to believe that the answer will come to naturally to her. In fact, Maebella is almost compelled to work hard at what she does, well aware that she will reap rewards equivalent to the work she puts in. She always makes the most of what she does, her actions practically economic so that there's no waste; she doesn’t do anything that hasn’t been carefully considered beforehand, making every action a very deliberate decision on her part. She has her eyes very firmly set on the prize and isn’t inclined to stray from that.
When it comes to others, Mae is far from personable, tending to come across as apathetic at best and cold at worst. It can be difficult to draw her into idle chatter or encourage her to share things with you. Her unwillingness to engage with other people can sometimes seem to border on the point of hostility but there's rarely malice behind her actions, although there might be some contempt. When it comes to making decisions, and dealing with new situations, the eidisi is inclined to follow a rather set way of thinking. If it can be done, she prefers to use what has been tried and tested before but if a situation required her to identify with another’s perspective or do something she deems “irrational” then she is not likely to be compliant. She prefers to keep herself apart from other people, especially those she deems as less intelligent or ill-educated. She’s quite happy to deal with cultural norms as they’ve been for many years, especially in Viden, and isn't keen on change. The last thing that Maebella would want would be to get into any sort of confrontation, especially a physical one but she would enter a dangerous situation if she felt that it was unavoidable or necessary if she’s to attain her goals.

Maebella was the third and final child born into her family. Her mother, Trinna, had already survived the birth of two sons, Fraeon and Chaerin, but her daughter's birth killed her, a fact that devastated the family's patriarch, Aoden. It was a truly terrible blow for her father and her older brothers, especially as they lost an important wage as Trinna had been a Linguistics professpr in the Viden Academy. Furthermore, Aoden placed some blame on Maebella for unwittingly causing her mother's death and as a result, his attitude towards her has always been a little cooler than to her elder brothers.
Despite the early misfortune that marked the female eidisi's life, Maebella's childhood was a pleasant one. A highly inquisitive child, she was keen to investigate everything. Even before she began her formal education, she had learned a great deal by perusing her brothers' schoolwork, giving her an excellent head advantage as the younger of her brothers, Chaerin, was four years her senior while Fraeon was six. She also received an interesting education from her father when he wasn't busy working and studying part-time in the Academy. He showed a great interest in the stories that were told and written within different cultures, particularly those about the Great Shattering and he instilled an equal fascination in his daughter. It made her seriously consider following in Aoden's footsteps, believing that he was on the right path to gain insight into the answer that the Immortal Yvithia sought: the cause of the Great Shattering.
When her brothers reached the end of their free education in Viden, both of them were determined to broaden their knowledge through travel. As such, they both took employment in the Prime Atheneum until they'd amassed suitable funds, providing their sister with great insight into the library and teaching her all that they knew about research. All too soon for Maebella, they were ready to embark on their new education with Fraeon set for the regions of Southern Idalos while Chaerin headed for Western Idalos. Both young men promised to stay in contact with their sister, who was eager to hear of any stories they might encounter during their travels but both turned out to only write sporadically, something that is still a source of exasperation for the young woman to this day.
When Maebella completed her secondary education, she had ambitions to carry on her education at a higher level but thought it wise to amass some funds of her own, knowing that it was impractical to rely on her father. As such, she followed in the footsteps of her brothers and took a position in the Prime Atheneum. Her choice was quite prudent, especially as not long afterwards, he completed a Charter of Arts in the Literary Arts and took a Professorship in Rynmere University. Their farewell was a stiff and formal one but it did result in Maebella receiving an old Linguistics text from her father that had once belonged to Trinna, a gift that she treasures especially as her mother's neat handwriting can be found on many of its pages, her only connection to the woman's intelligence. His decision to leave her was a peculiar one but it's clear that Aoden trusted that his daughter was mature enough to look after herself in Viden despite the fact that she hadn't yet reached adulthood. It's unclear if he feels any guilt for taking such action but if he does, he never allows it to encroach on the words in his missives to her.
Finally considering herself to be in a comfortable place to pursue further education in the Viden Academy, determined to achieve a Letter of Arts in Literature, a qualification that she expects to be the first of many.
Starter Quest
Trinna had been a beloved disciple to the All Knowing. Losing her caused great personal sadness for Yvithia and the position has been vacant for some time. There are many great professors throughout Viden Academy that teach language and investigate the unknown. With few disciples that catch her eye recently, Yvithia desires loyal men and woman to bring her new information. You have heard rumors of a young researcher in the Rynmere and Eastern Settlements. He has caught Yvithia's eye for his research into the Jourkadri. To attain her own fame with the All Knowing, you will have to find something new and enticing to bring to Yvithia as he had. Can you find something that will turn Yvithia's eye towards you? Or will you ride on everyone's coattails and be known as the killer of your mother to her?
As a student of the Viden Academy, Maebella deemed it wise to seek lodging in the Academy's Tertiary Accommodation. She occupies one bed chamber within a flat that she shares with five others and there is a communal kitchen, dining room and living room. In eidisi's private room is quite spartan containing a single bed, a chair, a table, a lockable chest and a small furnace. The only luxury that she has allowed herself is a small bookshelf so that the tomes she owns can be suitably stored.
Costs 30GN per season
Note
As discussed by Maebella, Whisper, and Nymph, Maebella has been granted permission to pay 20 GN per season for student housing due to contradictory information in the lore for Vhala 717, Zi'da 717, and Cylus 718. After these three seasons, she will be expected to be 30 GN per season to match the changes to the lore.
