Appearance

With purple eyes, both of which representing spite in his Biqaj blood, Ryqet is a cold and confident man. With a fairly well-chiseled body and stone-cold features, the man is clearly in charge wherever he goes. Standing at 6 feet tall and with scars coating his tanned skin, be it his face, arms or torso - his time in prison is also apparent. Most prominent of these is a scar on his shoulder, shaped from a blade that was used to carve into him, marking him as a pirate. One day, he intends on turning that sign in to his insignia.
Personality

Ryqet is a cold, isolated and distant man at times. To those that don't know him, he's no more than a stranger with little intention of opening up to anyone. With closer friends, however, he is a fiercely loyal ally that will do anything in his power to protect the people he loves and cares about. Even in a time of care, however, the man will hold on to the spite he has felt for years - and it will never die.
History

At the age of 5, he was taken away from his drunkard father and mother and put into an orphanage, despite not being an orphan. After that day, he never saw his parents again. He grew up wishing and waiting for their return, but it never came. Until the age of fifteen he never once gave up hope of being found. But by the time his fifteen birthday came, his hope was gone, replaced by a hollow bitterness. Wondering why he had been left behind, Ryqet’s bitterness grew and grew as days went by. It was then that a girl came in, a few years younger than him. She was different, strange, unique. Her eyes changed color with her emotions and her blood ran silver, and in the place of humans she stood out – and was therefore targeted by the other kids. Ryqet had been the same, but very few would do more than whisper. But this girl was weaker, more vulnerable. On her third day, Ryqet caught a group of the boys, all a few years younger than him, trying to circle her. As they went to jump the girl, one found themselves grabbed from behind, Ryqet’s arm choking him out. His stone cold eyes turned purple with spite, looking at them as he told them to leave. Immediately the rest ran, and the one in his arms dropped unconscious. Ryqet offered his hand to the crying girl and made sure she was alright. She embraced him and cried, asking why the people here were so horrible.

He took the girl somewhere quiet and the two spoke, sharing stories and getting to know one another. They spoke and talked for hours at a time until eventually, she fell tired. But she didn’t want to leave, she said the girls in her room were as horrible as the boys were, and that they’d already tried to target her. Ryqet looked to the door of his room, nobody else in there as of yet. He grabbed his bag and started to pack it, telling her that they would leave together. All he wanted to know was her name. Once he found her name was Arla, the two agreed to leave. She helped him pack, and when he said to go to hers and pack she shook her head, saying she’d just share with him if he didn’t mind. He agreed and they ran immediately, taking their things and escaping into the dark of the night.

They stayed in a tavern, stealing their way to survival. They stole food, money, and anything else they needed. As the time they spent together increased, their feelings changed and grew stronger, and just a year later it turned romantic. The sixteen-year-old boy and the fourteen-year-old girl fell madly in love, and their love lasted for years. Ryqet got a job on the docks to earn them money, paying for them both to live as he loaded and unloaded ships for a small sum of money. This went on for years until the man turned 21. The two still spent time together, but she would spend nights with her friends. One late Ashan, the girl returned with the most beautiful dress that Ryqet had ever seen, one he could never afford. Onyx jewelry decorated her, and her pockets were filled with riches – the riches of her new lover. When she broke the news to him, his heart shattered. She told him that she would leave for this man and that he wasn’t to follow or ever speak to her again. Breaks of argument broke out, shouting and pleading in a way the man had never pleaded for anyone before. Then she left, never seen by him again.

Ruined, Ryqet went to his boss on the harbor and asked for a boat. He said he would work for anyone he had to just to get out of here. He found himself on a boat crew, and they taught him to sail for an Arc until he eventually found himself helping the captain first hand. On that same boat, the isolation made his spite grow as he stayed mostly away from the crew. In one violent storm, Chrien showed herself to the man after killing his entire crew, giving him the mark she bore in exchange for a promise that he never let go of his spite.

Not long after meeting Chrien, at the age of 23, Ryqet was locked up for assault and resisting arrest on a civilian that taunted him. It wasn't until Ashan of 718, the 23rd, that he was released from the prison. While in there, he received many scars - but was hardened over time. Ryqet made his way to the top through gambling in the jail, trading whatever he won in exchange for protection, weapons and other contraband items that people managed to make or obtain. As he went through the prison he made many enemies - and few friends. Most of the prisoners, however, were business partners. While in there, he met a man called Lucas Nardovino.

Once he had escaped from the prison, he met a woman called Ministry. They'd talked before, and he had agreed to help mask her identity while the two worked on their own missions. As such, she is acting as a member of Ryqet's crew. Now that he has been let out, Ryqet works on both land and sea, offering his hand to anyone with enough gold - and keeping an eye out for the woman he once loved. Why? So he can force the life out of her body, and her new boyfriend shortly after.
Housing

Due to his starting package, the Seafaring pack, Ryqet lives on a Sloop. Little has been done to personalise it beyond the desk, hammock and other general areas that he can do his work. Aside from all of these, the Sloop is plain and bare, not showing any of who Ryqet is as a person.

Abilities

  • Turbulent Waters (Novice)

An ability that works on any body of water deep enough for the Rusalka to swim in, Turbulent Waters causes the water to toss and turn, rage and roar as if a storm had risen, even if the day is as clear as can be. In addition, there are strong and uncontrollable riptides under the waves. For an unskilled Rusalka, Turbulent Waters can be dangerous to use, but for the skilled, it is a dangerous and deadly ability. This is due to the fact that while the Rusalka is safe from the waters themselves, they are not immune to any effects the waters have on other things. This ability can only be used once a trial at full strength, more often if the Rusalka affects a smaller area. The power affects an area up to three nautical miles in diameter and lasts for a break.

  • Favorable Outcome (Novice)

An ability that allows the Rusalka to affect the odds of things like dice rolls and card draws, or any thing of a similarly small nature, so that they fall in the Rusalka's favor. The skill can be used as many times in a row as the Rusalka desires, but each consecutive use is less likely to succeed than the one before it, though going a whole Trial without using the ability will reset it.

  • Rusalkis Skills I

Add an extra three skill points to one of the following skills: Swimming, Seafaring, Torture, Polearms, Gambling, or Fishing. Any skill points granted by this Mark can break the 100 point cap on skills.

  • Seed of Spite

A surprisingly subtle ability for the usually operatic Chrien, Seed of Spite allows the Rusalka to plant the beginnings of a grudge in a target, a seed that can grow into a deep seated resentment and anger. Seed of Spite has been used in the past to ruin friendships, destroy loves, and topple dynasties, for such a small thing is so easily ignored. The seed is planted by touch, and will grow according to the victims natural inclinations, though the Rusalka can sort of "aim" a grudge by whispering into their hand what type of grudge they want the target to have.
