Appearance. At one point in her life, Zvezdana was considered the fairest rose of all Venora. Her dark hair fell in loose curls, her skin was as white as snow, and her personality was sharp. She was youthful and ambitious, as were most noblewomen at that age. Over time, that youthfulness crawled away from eyes, leaving only darkness and dismay. Their bright blue color could not offset the bags beneath the eyes. Her shoulder, formerly pulled back, were heavy and sagged most of the time. Her brightly colored dresses were replaced with black, furred garments of mourning. Despite her physical change, which could be excused as a outcome of the war and loss of title, her personality is far more damaged.

Rage. Many probably speculate that Zvezdana is biding her time to release her wrath on those that had done her wrong. That is far from the truth. As a Cursed being, Zvezdana is slowly realizing that ambition and rage are more traumatizing to her being. There is a burning pit within her stomach that makes her fear herself for she is truly a monster. When she loses control, those that she cares about can be harmed in ways only the imagination can fathom. This had led her down the path of introspection. She questions her actions just enough to be cautious with those around her. If she does something, will it entice the beast within her to come out and wreak havoc upon the world? Would it be more beneficial to remain locked up for the rest of her life to to spare the world of misery? There is a hint of her old self there, constantly reminding herself that the world deserves to burn for taking everything from her.

Love. Veljorn will forever be the man that she gave her heart too. His death stimulated many of the events that built the person Zvezdana is today. Deep down, all she really wants to to love and be loved in return. Andráska, Vivian, Seira, and Seriel have a special place within her heart that very few are allowed to see. Despite this, the beast has decidedly placed them on a pedestal of desire. It hungers for them. For those that have done her wrong in the past - Elyna, Alistair, Cassander, etc. - the beast simply leaves, to induce the rage within. It is love that has forced Zvezdana away, in search of redemption so that she might return to her normal life some day.

History

Life as a lady was never easy for her. Zvezdana was born to Willow and Kaleb Venora as their first daughter and second child. Her life when she was younger was bright and full of smiles. Her tutors were amazing, her parents loved her equally, and her older brother was kind. It was everything a young girl could want and more.

Her happy childhood gave way to a teenage life filled with hate and despair. Her father and older brother started to abuse her at about 10 arcs old. Zvezdana was their living doll. They felt entitled to use her body as they saw fit and abused her emotionally and mentally. Suddenly, she hated her family and threw herself into her studies. The only way she was going to get out is if she was smart enough to live on her own. No one knew about the disarray that her family was in. Her mother turned her back on what was happening while her father taught his son how to be the best Baron and get what he wanted. He had always been told that his sister was there for his use. Zvezdana hated all of them - her mother for not protecting her and her father and brother for doing this to her. Her hate became the seed for her political agenda.

The Story

Zvezdana was full of ambition when she left Saibaissant for Andaris City. She made her living by teaching aristocratic girls and noblewomen etiquette. She lived to teach her pupils about the finery of the court and how to manipulate men into providing information and gifts. This life seemed suitable for Zvezdana for a time. Initially she met Lazuli Warrick, the rising Baroness of Warrick. Their relationship was almost sisterly, but events would take its toll on their relationship. Elyna Burhan was her pupil for a time as well, a diamond in the rough. Elyna's parents had hired Zvezdana in attempts of convincing Elyna away from the life of a Skyrider and into the arms of a suitable husband.

During an event in early Ymiden, Zvezdana met Veljorn Burhan. She was attending the Warrick tournament, in honor of Lazuli's betrothal to Veljorn. It was this event that made Zvezdana realize that she desired more than a basic life as a tutor. She desired to be loved. The interaction with Veljorn sparked jealousy within her, and she sought to take Veljorn away from Lazuli. In her mind, she was doing Lazuli a favor by permitting her an escape to love whomever she wished. During a visit to Burhan, Veljorn had her over to dinner. Things escalated quickly and the two had a quiet marriage shortly a few days later.

With her marriage to Veljorn, Zvezdana found herself involved with the Qe'Dreki rebels. They feverishly opposed the boy king as his blood was considered diluted. Cassander, despite his royal heritage, was believed unfit to rule Rynmere. Veljorn saw himself as the future King of Rynmere. This illusion passed over to Zvezdana. She dreamed of elevating the two of them to the throne by any means possible. Her relationship with Lazuli, unbeknownst to her, had crumbled. Vivian Warrick, in efforts to repair the frayed relationship by taking letters to Lazuli for Zvezdana, vowed fealty to the rebel queen. This relationship has stood against many trials. Vivian is quite possibly the only friend Zvezdana has left.

During negotiations with Cassander, Alistair reared his head again to further ruin her plans. As he had always done, her older brother was more focused on ruining her life than being supportive as a brother should be. Elyna Burhan also revealed herself to be a snake in the grass during these negotiations. She killed Veljorn and set in motion life-altering events for Zvezdana. Chaos ensued and the camp was set aflame by dragon fire. Zvezdana, blinded by grief, was put in a dangerous situation. Had it not been for her mage brother, she would have been engulfed in dragon fire and left to die. Of course, she still hates him to this day, unaware of what he did. Shortly after Veljorn's death, Zvezdana pleaded to to the Immortals for aid. Syroa answered her call, cursing her for attempting to use an Immortal's power for personal gain. The Sessfiend was given life from the rage fires within Zvezdana in the form of a two-headed hellbeast that hungered eternally. War that had raged for several trials ended quickly with the Qe'Dreki forces scattering. Losses were heavy for the rebels, but the Iron Hand had suffered some losses themselves, encountering the Sessfiend as far into Andaris as Midtown.

By good fortune, Zvezdana was found after the initial transformation by Vivian. She was escorted out of Andaris, unconscious and unaware of the events that had occurred. When she awoke, she was inside Saibaissant once more. Prior to leaving her home, possibly for the last time, she found herself confiding everything to her younger brother, Andráska. Come morning, she and Vivian left for Jorick's Keep to regroup with the other rebels. Yoreth Blackwood was now considered the Dreki Riki and she was seen as nothing more than the woman that carried the heir. In her mind, it would only be a matter of time before her welcome was outlived. All Yoreth needed was a wife and an heir to seal his hold on the Qe'Dreki.

The demon resurfaced late Vhalar to wreak havoc upon Jorick's Keep. Zvezdana found herself naked and alone in the forest of the Burning Mountains. Her loyal friend and right-hand, Vivian Warrick, recovered her. In a rapid flurry of decisions, Zvezdana ran away to Rharne. She passed through the Burning Mountains and the wilds, buying her way onto a ship destined to Rharne. On her arrival she was left penniless and alone, having been robbed the moment she arrived.

A kind stranger helped her elevate herself to the Sky Quarter. Vincent D'Ordyn was a kind mercenary that helped her get on her feet. He introduced her to the Thunder Priestess. With hard work and few friends, she managed to change her outlook on life. She slowly became a good woman. Through her time in Rharne she reconciled with her older brother, turned an old enemy into a friend, and welcomed Alzorn into the world. Her life was filled with joy at her son's birth and soon she was celebrating with Andráska. Vivian, Seira, and Seriel had joined them. It was all preparing for a happy ending.

A happy ending that would never come.

The Demise

All good stories must come to an end. Not all stories end happily. Tragedies occur leaving many heartbroken in their wake. Zvezdana's tale is a tragedy. Having come from so much and ending with so little, she had come to believe she owed the world little. She cared only for her son, Andráska, and Vivian. Those closest to her could tell she was struggling with her change. With every passing trial, she fought the beast within her. She craved human flesh and developed an increasing fear that her child was in danger. She withdrew into herself, occupying her time preparing for the inevitable. One day, Cassander would come for her. If it wasn't the boy king, the beast would have its way with her.

She received a letter from Andráska stating that he would arrive on the 40th of Ashan. Excited to see her family - and heart's desire - she ran to the docks. She never made it. In a sudden burst of rage, the Sessfiend revealed itself in the Dust Quarter. Her initial destruction was minimal, but the damage that she did to Andráska would be lifelong. Zvezdana, portrayed as a two-headed demon dog, fought tooth and claw against her brother. Just as it was about to take his life, he managed to spear its heart with a mirror shard. Although he killed the beast, Zvezdana was forced to suffer an agonizing death in his arms.

With a broken body, struggling lungs, and failing heart, she confessed as much as she could in the short amount of time she had in this world. At last, she could be at peace knowing that her son was safe and that Andráska had kept his promise to her. Zvezdana cursed herself deep down, believing that her last crime on earth was killing her brother in the process of death. As death claimed her, she knew he would not be able to follow her where her soul was destined to go. She passed away with a smile on her face and love in her heart.

Some may not mourn the wicked, but in the end, Zvezdana had effected many people. Through blood and tears or hugs and kisses, she will be forever remembered by a select few. Long live the Fallen False Queen of Rynmere, in stories and myths.

Family

Willow Venora - Mother (NPC)

Zvezdana perceives Willow in a way that an orphaned child might perceive a mother walking along the street. Zvezdana wishes she has a better relationship with her mother, one that actually resembled a mother/daughter bond. Instead, Zvezdana is at odds with her mother and only humors her because she was brought into this world by the woman. She hates Willow for her crimes of silence. Willow knew of Kaleb's visits to a young Zvezdana and did nothing. Zvezdana holds her mother in as much blame for her crippled childhood as her father. One day, Zvezdana anticipates she will make her parents pay. The only attempt at respecting their bond as mother and daughter would be a quick, painless death.

Kaleb Venora - Father (NPC)

Of her entire family, Zvezdana hates Kaleb the most. They do not speak to one another, and Zvezdana has very few memories of their relationship that are not clouded in violence and rape. Kaleb abused Zvezdana at a very young age and placed her on a similar level as the household servants. She was meant to serve him and her brothers, for she was less just by being female. They never shared happy moments, although she vaguely recalls story of his pride when she was born. His crimes against her have caused her to harbor hate for her brother, Alistair, as he convinced him to take part in the events of her youth. When Zvezdana has the opportunity to repay him for his 'kindness', she will ensure that he suffers just as much as she did as a child, if not more.

Alistair Venora - Older Brother

For most of her life, Zvezdana and Alistair had been at odds with one another. Alistair had been given everything Zvezdana could possibly want in life: a future as duke, parental love and adoration, and power beyond belief. All her life she had lived in Alistair's shadow, and no matter what she did, she could not seem to shine the light on herself. His transgressions against her only seemed to worsen when he sided with King Cassander against the Qe'Dreki. The line had been drawn all their life and he had finally crossed it. No matter how thick blood was, Zvezdana hated her brother. After she ran to Rharne and began a progressive change in herself did she feel confident in facing Alistair. Fate brought them together. She yelled and screamed until they were both brought to tears. Together, they came to the conclusion they were far too similar. Reconciliation occurred and they plan to more forward together. This was their last encounter and Zvezdana swore to help her brother in any way possible.

Andráska Venora - Younger Brother

Andráska is the person she wishes she could be. He is carefree, loyal, and kind with a hint of rebel spirit deep within him. As a young girl, Zvezdana idolized her brother. He called her 'Blue' as his special nickname for her, fascinated and focused on her eyes whenever they spoke. The innocence of their relationship ended when she was violently pulled into the world of womanhood by her sadistic father. She proceeded to keep him at arms length, desperately hoping that if he did not know what was going on behind closed doors, he would be spared from the rage that Kaleb showered upon his older siblings. As it turns out, many arcs down the road, Zvezdana ended up telling Andráska everything. This encounter also surfaced some complicated feelings she had never felt before. She is currently distancing herself once more from him in hopes to protect him from the demons within.

Veljorn Burhan - Husband (NPC) - Deceased

Zvezdana married Veljorn on 48th of Ymiden, 716 with several high ranking Qe'Dreki members. Elyna, a supposed friend at the time, was present as a witness to the event. Although many would assume that Zvezdana married Veljorn for power, Zvezdana claims to this day that she loved her husband as much as the day she met him. If someone would have told her the day she married him that he would die barely a season later, Zvezdana would have laughed. Veljorn was murdered by Elyna on the 26th of Saun during negotiations with the king. He leaves behind a son, Alzorn Venora Burhan.

Vivian Shiryu (Formerly Vivian Warrick)

There is no one else that Zvezdana owes more in Idalos than Vivian Warrick. Vivian elected to give up everything - title, land, family - to serve the Rebel Queen. Vivian attempted to reconcile with Lazuli on Zvezdana's behalf through letters. Both friend and cousin were inevitably betrayed and forced into hiding. Zvezdana, if ever placed upon a soapbox to speak of Vivian's great deeds, would claim her as one of the noblest of women. She champions loyalty and courage, going up against what is expected for what is desired. As her right hand woman and best friend, Vivian has earned a place in Zvezdana's heart for eternity.

Seira and Serial Shiryu

With Vivian's loyalty came a pair of identical girls with enough eagerness for the entire Qe'Dreki army. Despite their size, the girls were always interested in helping out. Zvezdana found the trait to be desired. Over time she developed a fondness for the girls. Much of the protective nature she would keep hidden from them was due to the fact they had been adopted by her best friend, Vivian. She wished them a long life where they would have the opportunity to enjoy their youth where she had not.

Faith

Zvezdana and Faith had not always considered one another friends. Their first meeting had been amicable. Faith, at the time, had been a slave to House Venora. She was owned by Zvezdana's cousin, Tristan. Zvezdana believed her to be incredibly talented, polite, and secretly intelligent. They did not meet again until she followed Elyna into the tent during war negotiations. For a long time after her husband's death, Zvezdana blamed Faith as much as she blamed Elyna for Veljorn's demise. Their relationship has come a long way, growing into a delicate friendship. Faith was the first to attempt reconciliation with a gift. Zvezdana found herself requiring more and more of Faith's help when she was caught in a compromising position giving birth to her son in the middle of Rharne's busy streets. Faith is kind to a fault, and Zvezdana has since come to terms that she was simply obeying a command when Elyna drove the knife into her husband's neck.

Enemies

Elyna Burhan

At one point in their relationship, Zvezdana considered Elyna Burhan to be her friend and pupil. They met originally when Zvezdana was hired by Elyna's parents as an etiquette tutor. They hoped that she might steer Elyna away from her passions to serve as an Airman in the army. Over the course of time, Elyna became closer to Zvezdana to the point that the woman represented the bride's side of the family in a secret wedding. Zvezdana was very happy to have Elyna by her side when she married Veljorn. It was that trust that was his undoing. Zvezdana pressed Veljorn to have Elyna at the negotiations with Cassander. She took that opportunity to drive a knife into his neck, shattering their relationship. Zvezdana will forever hate Elyna for taking away her love and future. The only feelings that Elyna stirs within Zvezdana is hate and rage, a key trigger to the Sessfiend curse.
