Monastery of the Calm Waves
Located deep in the Scaltoth jungle and home of the Monks of the Calm Waves, this Monastery is a beautiful and well-crafted location that has stood proud and tall for generations. Despite the masterpiece of a structure, however, very few know of this place and even fewer have the honor of living in such a place, yet the faction inside it remains open to all. Partially, this is because of the hard and taxing lifestyle, but also the deep location in the jungle that makes it a rare occurrence to see without prior information as to where you are going.
With a very intentional design, the monastery is a peaceful and quiet place, the sound of Waterfalls faintly heard from any of the meditation areas and a beautiful architecture to show off the monks with pride to the rest of the world. While the place is visually pleasing, however, all of the internal areas are practical and offer little in the way of decoration. A few art pieces and sculptures lie around the halls, the main rooms typically filled with nothing but the equipment required by the monks that care to each part of the Monastery. The only exception to this is the living areas, which all have plants and wildlife close by, bringing the Monks closer to the nature they admire and train in.
Despite such a big and open space, the Monastery has no areas for training, instead dedicating their space to medical areas, places to practice meditation and housing for those that need it. This is both due to the preference to train in the wild and the high requirements in extreme temperature environments. Despite this, however, the grounds are kept clean and are shown care and attention by all who live there - tribal or otherwise.
Anyone discovering this location, however, will quickly see that the variety of people living in this place varies from every race and stature. Due to the religious and spiritual nature of the location, this place houses anyone willing to learn and stay and is even used as shelter for the local tribes in difficult weather conditions or times of extreme need.
This Monastery is located on a small island in the middle of the Holy Lake, and is connected with a large bridge to the rest of the land. This bridge has no gates or bars, meaning anyone may enter when they please, the Monks confident no harm will come to them. What gives them this confidence is up to debate.
