The Town Square
The central area of Scalvoris Town is roughly square shaped, although that is a very rough definition. With the Scholars' Nook looking over it, the Town Square is home to the Scalvoris Open Air Market. Fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and herbs, medical supplies and yards of brightly coloured material, local strangeness and mundane goods are all for sale here.
The market sits around the very central square of the town where there is a fountain which somehow never freezes. Small cafes and cake shops tend to pop up around here with chairs spilling out into the square itself when the weather permits. There are noticeboards and the town crier starts and ends his trial here, as well as stopping by every break, on the chime.
Musicians and entertainers can make a few copper if the crowd are feeling so inclined and the sight of street performers is a common one. They do not get moved on by the Elements, it all just adds to the ambience. The Elements, specifically the Earth troops are a common sight in the Town Square and therefore trouble is rare. Still, pickpockets and opportunistic criminals are always on the look out for the unwary.
Rumour has it that, if you know who to speak to and what to say, there is a thriving black market here. But that's just rumour, of course.
