Flutterhog
Developed by Elowen

Lifespan and Development: Incredibly small mix between a hedgehog that can fit into one's palm and a mature dandelion, Flutterhogs have a very short life span of one arc.
An adult Flutterhog will have its back covered with white globes almost identical to those of a mature dandelion. These white globes release spontaneously as Flutterhog ages and wind carries these white globes wherever it will. The Flutterhog 'seedling' will then 'plant' itself into the ground. From its lower part (where a dandelion's seed usually is), a brand new Flutterhog develops underground until the original seedling falls off and a new Flutterhog emerges from the dirt with a back full of white globes. Flutterhogs emerge from the ground already mature and from that point forward, they only live up to one arc.
Regarding the white globes on Flutterhog's back, these have thin spikes going through the stem of the white globe and they extend out when a Flutterhog folds on itself to creat a tight ball. This is its only form of defense mechanism. Their bodies are otherwise extremely soft which allows for the folding on itself. Flutterhog will deploy this defense mechanism when picked up or approached by an animal larger than itself. Getting pricked by the spikes (and it's always multiple at the same time) is extremely painful.
It has been rumoured that Flutterhog's white globes can be plucked by force (which is extremely painful for the animal) and planted in an attempt to grow one's own Flutterhog. Whether or not this is actually true has yet to be confirmed.
If a Flutterhog is successfully captured, it never becomes domesticated. This is due to its fierce nature as well as the fact that it lives only up to one arc.
Diet: Carnivorous, feeding mostly on small bugs as they can't tackle anything larger than themselves.
Temperament: Fiesty! Flutterbugs, despite their size, have been rumoured to use their tight spiky ball form to roll AT a predator or an offender. They try to make up for their small bodies and vulnerabilities with ferocity and many a large animal had been sent squealing, running away due to contact with the spikes.
When it comes to socializing with other Flutterhogs, it is very rare. They are mostly solitary animals. However, on an extremely rare occasion and it is not yet clear why, little groups of Flutterhogs have been spotted. Often they are all curled up in their tight balls, rolling around. It has been called the Flutter Derby but no one has yet determined the purpose of this.
RPG Abilities:
Ability 1 ~ Able to form a tight ball full of thin, incredibly sharp spikes.
Ability 2 ~ If spikes are extracted from the white globe (requires Expert or Master ability), these can be used as poison carriers as they make for a perfect, almost impossible to find weapon when inserted fully into the body of a victim.
Ability 3 ~ Grow your own hogs.
Weaknesses:
Weakness 1 ~ Very fragile body and no defense mechanism aside from the tight spiky ball. When in the spiky ball, they can't do anything else but either sit still or via rocking motion roll in any direction.
Weakness 2 ~ Tight spiky ball perfectly exposes their white globes, leaving them up for being plucked
