Welcome to the Iulure Isles.
Fashion on the Iulure Isles is an ever changing thing depending on an individual’s home, family and trade associations. Due to the altitude of the islands it tends to be a bit colder especially when one takes to flying. The Hyludin’s wings and tails are also taken into account when designing clothing. The Iulure believe in layering with their clothing. So each layer tends to have its own fashion.
The Outer Layer:
This layer is always worn in any situation when a Hyludin might have to take to the air outside of a building. It might be called a coat in other parts of the world. These only button down to the waist. The back has slits to allow for the wings. The back of the jacket might go farther down the waist but anything below the waist is a loose piece of fabric. The Outer Layer is always made of leather or wool to help fight against the cold. Because of wool and leather there are very few dyes that can be taken so it is uncommon to see these outer garments in any color but their natural shades.
The Middle Layer:
This layer is always worn except in private spaces. Like the coats these are designed around the wings, but unlike the coats this layer does go past the waist and is designed around the tail as well. There is greater diversity among these layers in base patterns. Some wear a one piece suite that goes to the upper thighs that have slits for the wings and the tail. Some wear a similar piece but it is open in the back between wings and the tail. These two styles might also have strips of fabric that hang down from the bottom of the shorts to their feet. Among men you might also find some who just wear shorts or a kilt/skirt. This layer of clothing originally was wools and leather, but has since moved to cottons and very fine wool and because of that the Middle garment can be any color.
The Under Layer:
This layer is underclothing. Originally this layer was silks but in recent times cotton has begun to be used. This layer is a pair of shorts. Some women might also wear a supportive undershirt if their anatomy needs it. The color range is extensive for this layer.
Headwear:
Headwear among the people of the Isles is a complicated effect. With the horns whole new styles of head wear are common. Usually crafted of either Balorida or Alorida wood and maybe leather or silks. These can get exotic. Gems and pearls used in decoration aren't uncommon. Not everyone wears headwear.
Footwear:
Fur lined leather boots are the norm.
Wings and Tail:
Wing and tail ornaments made of Alorida wood, silver or silks aren’t uncommon. Gems and pearls used in decoration aren't uncommon.
Armor:
The Hyludin warriors tend to wear full armor. Chain mail does exist but is the common choice. Leather armor is common for scouting types. The armor was originally made of Alorida wood which has the strength of iron, but as technology improved and steel was discovered more and more are being made of steel.
