Ever since returning from the woods where the Lion Induk was rumored to dwell, Gith had to stifle his distaste for the street-corner proselytizing of various faithful of this god or that. It seemed the calamities that befell the world hadn't weakened Ne'haer's faith in them. Whatever one might think of that, it was what it was, and only finding a better situation would get him sorted on his path. Gith took up doing small jobs and sweeping around the Written WIsdom as his day job, picking up knickknacks, clearing dust bunnies, and keeping an eye out for bookworks. And if while he did all of this, he could sneak the occasional peak of a tome on the Gregory's shelves, that was all to the better.
He picked up interesting tidbits day by day on distant cities, their recent histories, rumors, venturing to read a little more during his breaks, and research the state of the world in recent times. It did seem there were a few cities that were if not entirely godless, speculated not to be an ecumenical nightmare that Ne'haer had remained. These, he surmised, were the best places to learn magic. Afterall, the Immortals had ever feared challenges from those beneath them. To command the powers of creation and destruction, to allow that power to mortals without restriction would surely seem anathema to most Immortals.
They probably tolerated a follower here or there who practiced, but the majority of them must eschew those mages within their ranks. So it seemed to stand to reason for Gith Larazan, that the places that weren't lorded over by a god of one description or another, nor an Induk or dragon, would be the best place. Of his research, he narrowed it down to the mercenary city of Yaralon. He didn't know much about that city, apart from the fact that their mercenaries were sometimes seen roving the roads and cities, and sealanes.
He eventually had a look through Gregory's shelves, for a book to purchase for his own. One that had information on the city he had learned of. Of course, he wouldn't have time in the meager breaks Gregory gave him to finish it within the cycle. So he sought out Gregory's attention, and paid for it from his own earnings. Gregory quirked a brow, at the sight of the 'Traveler's Guide to Yaralon'.
"Is this for interest or... are you planning on a vacation?" Gregory quipped to Gith.
The Raionan stared flatly at him, "Travelling. I'm leaving Ne'haer Gregory, this is why I gave notice a few ten trials ago?"
"But... Yaralon? I've heard it's awfully violent, full of barbarians and heathens."
Heathens. Gith could stomach the barbarians for the sake of Heresy. But he said nothing to Gregory.
Other than the slide over the required nels for his purchase.
"Goodbye, Gregory. Good luck in the new arc."
