Price: ~ Typically not sought as hunting companions or pets, and as such don't come in stock as tamed, but if one wanted to acquire a specimen to domesticate: Tier 8
Habitat: ~ Hotlands Border Range (Northern and Southern Reaches). They used to make nests in the more populated areas until they were hunted and driven out as pests.
Lifespan and Development: Typical lifespan is 20 arcs, with a maturation cycle of 5 cycles. They grow up to 4 meters tall, and with a wingspan that can generally only support their own weight. While they can bear weight on specialized packs and such, they cannot bear enough to mount a armored and armed rider.
Diet: Carnivorous predators. They will not eat live prey, but when they have chosen a target for predation, will lift them up with their talons and then drop down from a great height, preferably to their death.
Temperament: Aggressive when encountered near their nests, which unlike many rocs, they make close to the lowlands, in sizeable caves and burrows. Curious when encountered far out from their nests. They have special fascination for the shining armor of mortal soldiers and warriors, which has led to the ease of luring them into predation by these warriors.
Abilities:
Ability 1 ~ Ability to swoop down to ground with great speed and haul large weights with their talons, and then drop. This is their typical method of predation.
Ability 2 ~ Although they're seen largely as useless to for military operations, certain tamers have speculated that they may be able to be trained to perform bombardment on their own. This has yet to be put to the test, however.
Weaknesses:
Weakness 1 ~ Their nests are made on lowland caves and near to ground, where they are subject to predation.
Weakness 2 ~ They are curious about shiny objects, almost to the point of endangering themselves.
