Having grown up within the academic world, Elisabeth didn't often consider why people wished to pursue specific subjects, understanding that the reasons were wide and varied. Her companion was a curious man, but she didn't know him well enough to make assumptions, nor did she want to. The offer of help remained because knowledge, in her mind, was a precious thing.
Zemos asked her about being a doctor, prompting the young woman to shake her head gently and explain. "Most of the medical knowledge I have is based on emergency medicine. How to stabilize someone until you can get proper medical help and that sort of thing. I'm the leader of a settlement on Faldrass. We don't have a healer in the settlement itself, so we often must assess illnesses and injuries ourselves and determine what needs to be dealt with by a healer in the other settlement." Getting someone with more medical knowledge than she in the settlement was on her never-ending list of things to do.
In Elisabeth's mind, being a settlement leader had forced her to become something of a jack-of-all-trades. She knew some about many different things – engineering, medicine, gardening, woodworking – but not enough to be considered an expert by any means. She understood the concepts and could apply them well enough, but research was needed for her to go further than that. It was what Haven required, and she was happy to provide, considering she learned quickly and could adapt what she knew to the settlement.
Elisabeth laughed softly upon hearing him call her 'Sno-lizabeth' for the second time. "I like that name. Alright, I'll check out these books and see if I can find anything."
Setting to work, Elisabeth put her notepad to the side. She dug into a book that mainly seemed to be a collection of obscure facts about certain Immortals and contained nothing that pointed her in the right direction. Knowing nothing of Lisirra, she needed a solid starting point and, as such, took her own advice and consulted the nearest librarian on where to find the best book to suit her needs.
Elisabeth was guided to a more restricted section of the library. The knowledge within wasn't restricted, but the librarians did escort people into the area to make sure they found what they needed. The older gentlemen guiding her smiled and grabbed two thick volumes off a reasonably high shelf. "Here, Miss Angelus. I believe these will help you in your research. Please turn them in to the front desk when you are done so we can see them home properly."
The pair returned to the main room swiftly, and she began to pour over the first book, titled "The Immortals." There were notes and information on almost all of the Immortals she knew of within the thick tome but listed a few she didn't recognize as well.
Time passed, but soon enough, using a bit of scanning instead of reading, Elisabeth came across mention of Lisirra. "Daughter of Cierel, Lisirra's known Domains are Pestilence, Toxin, Decay, and Insects. Her siblings include Famula, Moeske, Audrae and Sintra." Oh boy – those names she did know. Famula played a large part in her life as the Immortal was responsible for providing the ability to Jacien that had allowed her to be resurrected. Elisabeth had met Moeske at the outset of the Forging, and well, Audrae's fingerprints had been all over that event. Sintra was the one Elisabeth knew the least about, but she did remember that Woe was her son. Something about Webspinners; the topic had been touched on during the Forging.
Writing down those names and the relationships, she gently pushed over the piece of paper to Zemos, giving him a quick smile. "I found this. If you want me to research those other names, I can find a bit more."
There was an entry that stated something about rumors of Lisirra being involved in some way with affairs in Desnind. By her recollection, Desnind was associated with Moeske, so that particular mention seemed odd.
Leaving him with that information for the moment, Elisabeth continued. Remembering the second book, she noticed that it was a travel journal of one Magnusen Opplain, who appeared to have put all his notes about different cities and areas into a large volume. Curious that the librarian would know to pull this volume for her, Elisabeth didn't spend too much time theorizing, diving into the section on Desnind, the city being her only real clue.
Much of what she read did have to do with Moeske, aligning with what she knew, but Lisirra's name came up a few times. The author, Magnusen, mentioned rumors he heard as he passed through the area. He was insistent that he never confirmed or denied any of them, but they seemed to point to a falling out between Moeske and Lisirra.
As she read on, the man wrote of a few whispered conversations heard about a clandestine religion focused on Lisirra within Desnind, which Elisabeth found to be a bit cheeky considering they had done it under Moeske's nose.
The author had only been able to recover a few pieces of information regarding the religion, but what he had found was interesting enough to interrupt Zemos from his own research and draw attention to what she had found, scooting her chair over and showing him the passages in the book, explaining. "So, these are some travel notes of a man who heard interesting things when he visited Desnind. He heard whispers of an underground religion there called Serga Mavranu. There's no information on the religion itself other than its intent to honor Lisirra. It's somehow attached to a faction called The Cazav, but again, no further notes on that."
She fell silent, waiting for him to absorb what she had said and what was in the book in front of him, curious to know what he thought about it all.
