At first glance the deep, earthy red tones of Awena’s long, unruly hair stand out in the eyes of a stranger. Although not a particularly unusual trait among a number of races, the rich, vibrancy of colour seems to glow from within, making it one of her most noticeable features. Not helped by the fact that it is often worn down in a windswept mass of waves finishing just below her lower back, she fondly refers to the untameable mess as her mane. Her honeyed skin speaks of years spent growing up wild under the sun, and is littered with freckles barely noticeable except during the throes of winter when her tan begins to fade. Bright green eyes shine against her bronzed skin in stark contrast with the deep reds of her ‘mane’, the colour in a constant, yet subtle fluctuation of emotion, due to her Biqaj heritage, ranging from a deep jungle green in sorrow to a piercing pale blue when pissed off or determined.
