Ymiden/Saun 719
This cycle is divided largely in two parts and bound together by the battling themes of survival and revitalization. Fur, trapped in a numbing mindset of self-pity and lonlieness brought about by the murder of his parents and the loss of his childhood, is barely scratching by on the streets of Etzos, begging and stealing to live trial to trial. A violent altercation in the beginning of Ymiden, which leads to the death of a drunkard by the child's hand, begins him down a journey, both physical and emotional, that begins in a circular fashion but, over time, proves itself more of a vertical progression, should Fur accept it. Plague and War arrive at his very doorstep, requiring him to make some very hard choices to ensure his survival. It is by making said decisions, morally suspect as they might have been, that brings Fur to a moment of clarity, in which the child finally allows himself to pursue opportunities and relationships that before he was adverse to. Rebuilding follows, both within Etzos and in Fur's life, as he begins to network. Friends, contacts, informants, clients . . . Fur is in pursuit of all of them, and more. What business he hopes to settle in, though, is still to be determined. Not that there are a lot of options for someone of his particular status, at least for now.
