Q&A
Looking for adventure, danger, or seeking to get closer to your Gods? Consider applying to Arbor's Vigil. Interested? Check out the Q&A below, or ask away if you have any questions!
- What is The Compass?
- The Compass is a band of Yaralon mercenaries operated by William Dovecraft. Many of them engage in contracts abroad, traveling all over Idalos. This is a PC-run Business & Organization dedicated to supernatural plots, including Fractures, Mage Hunting, Monster Hunting, and Spiritual Journeys.
- What are the requirements to join?
- Show up in Yaralon, complete The Run, and apply by sending William Dovecraft a PM expressing your interest. Read up on Yaralon mercenary companies here.
- What are the benefits of joining?
- The plots are always a plus! However, you may earn between 2 and 4 additional GN per season added to your wages on top of what you would normally make. Additional money or items may be available through contracts or gifts from other members.
- What sort of plots are available?
- Defending Yaralon from Fractures, building up the Arbor's Vigil, The Compass Company base, gathering resources ( magical, or for construction), crafting items for the Company, and all sorts of Supernatural-related contracts from hunting mages to pillaging neighbor lands. We're mercenaries, after all. In-fighting and tension is also a possibility, as well as religious exploration threads.
- What if I'm a Mage?
- Your character must be interested in seeking a way to rid themselves of their Sparks. Mages are typically distrusted until they are proven genuine in their desire to have their soul cleansed.
- What if I'm amoral?
- The Compass allows all sorts to apply and encourages the Freedom to pursue your own adventures as you see fit. We are neutral. Due to this, tensions are to be expected. Play this out as you see fit - unwarranted murder, theft, or assault are each grounds for expulsion, and some respect is expected towards Ashan. The only thing William does not allow is slavery due to his respect for Ashan, so all members are expected to free their slaves.
The Arbor's Vigil - Home of The Compass
Write-up pending.
- Can I have a home at Arbor's Vigil?
- Unless we have one available, you must find someone to share housing with, or build a place yourself with either money, or hard work.
- Is Arbor's Vigil safe?
- Nope. Everyone mysteriously vanished many Arcs ago, leaving it empty and barren. It also resides next to two dangerous wilderness areas (The Spines, and the Bastard's Grove), and it's currently being rebuilt. Expect the place to be haunted, or worse, and having no fortifications to defend yourselves as of yet.
