Rynata nodded at the child who delivered the message, but she felt her heart drop all the same. She had been counting on her friend to help keep an eye out for the threat, and now this meant that she was the only one aside from Patrick, who seemed more focused on his date than the stalker.
In fact, there they were, in the middle of the street, locked in a rather intense moment of passion. Eyebrows slightly raised but trying not to stare at the couple too obviously, Rynata opted to look around the street once more. A sudden cry of anger went up where the light from the tavern ended, and she saw a suspicious cloaked figure righting themselves after apparently having walked into another pedestrian. This stranger also seemed to have eyes for the couple Rynata was shadowing.
Mind racing but remaining nonchalant on the steps of the tavern, Rynata waited until the cloaked figure slipped past to circle around behind them. At this point, she’d be stalking the stalker, but without Amaris around, hopefully this improved chances of not being spotted and instead, protecting the two love birds.
Milling along the shadowy side of the street, Rynata watched worriedly out of the corner of her eye as a different figure approached Aku’ana. Thankfully, it wasn’t any sort of crazed villain, but what happened next caused her brows to shoot up even further than before. The woman who had crashed into the dancer was now also initiating a passionate kiss. Resisting the urge to cover her face with her hand, Rynata kept one eye on the women and another on the cloaked figure. The former seemed to exchange words before marching away towards the tents, and consequently, Rynata.
Tipping her head at the wink the woman gave her, Rynata smiled politely and saw her off down the darkened street. Now it that their prey had seemingly taken the bait, it was up to the love birds to up the game somewhere where the stalker would be tricked into revealing their true colors.
