Siorey is the name, sorry to intrude. I said realizing just how stupid I was. It didnt occur to me till just now that i could have scared the thieves from the area. Shit, not a good way to start this off. Shaking my head I went below deck, and changed my clothes, into some loose shorts and a loose tank top. Strapping my wingblade on my back, i stepped onto the water, and made haste across. I tried doing it, walking on water, and learned it didnt last too long before i dropped into the water. So I skipped across the water quickly, never breaking the surface till I was on land. Shaking the man's hand, and waving to the trigger happy crossbow chick, turned to the shallow water and needed to tie my sloop to a low hanging tree. Feeling the essence of my gift swell in my gut, I made a pulling gesture, which caused the water to rise and coast my boat toward me. Once secured I was ready to go, looking to the group hoping I hadnt hindered them more than I thought I have. I'm pretty caught up on whats going on, did you guys learn anything new before I arrived? I asked, but was interrupted by this blonde guy, saying he unleashed evil from the lake. I hope you are joking, Im not prepared to deal with things of unholy nature, I barely prepared to handle being in this unholy heat right now.

uca watched with great interest and some trepidation as Siorey performed what to him, could only be understood as magic tricks. He dealt with and commanded a good number of mages and some marked individuals within the Elements, but their ways still took getting used to.

"Well, Siorey, we can use all the help we can get. I'm Luca, the leading officer, and this is Elitza." The man waved a hand to Elitza's cold shoulder. "She's long cooperated with our office since before my time. And that is, well, another volunteer to the cause," he finished a little weakly, unsure of how to introduce the silent man.

"So far it has been quiet..." Luca tried to continue before Tio's shout rang in the clearing.

"You what?!" Luca turned pale and then back to normal again with dizzying speed. He had left that man alone for but for a few bits. How had this happened?! Regardless, now was not the time for questions. He was responsible for the mission and for the safety of the volunteers. Grasping his blade tightly, he whirled around and made a dash back toward the lake.

Elitza already had her weapon in hand with Mute in position beside her. Her sharp gaze was trained on the dust cloud and not the geyser of water, eyes scanning for a target.

"To his left!" Elitza called, crossbow directed at an empty space a small distance away from Tio. Indeed, there were the pair of footprints, now steadily marching towards the pirate. They landed in a disturbing beeline for the man, raising small puffs of dust as they appeared. To Tio who was closest, they looked like the imprints of webbed feet. His hand was now glowing a more insistent shade of green than ever.

"You can keep it if you can survive it!" Elitza yelled with a rare grin.

With that she fired off above the prints where one would assume the rest of the creature's body would be. As the projectile pierced through the air, it slid seemingly harmlessly above the prints and lodged in to a distant tree. However, as the bolt finished it's journey, the creature materialized. Momentarily distracted from the pirate, it turned toward the archer, and let out an angry, grating quack. Because it was a duck. An enormous, demonic duck. With iridescent, black feathers, poison green eyes, and a cracked and jagged beak.
Off Topic
And....combat. Your team faces off against Tio's accidental demonic summon, or rather, a mysterious resident of the lake. PCs may perform one action. This includes running up to Tio's and the creature's position. Actions possible while moving are permitted. ;)

Tio's hand shot to the hilt of his cutlass as the shuddering of the earth and sudden appearance of yet more giant footsteps signaled that the creature that'd come out of the fissure, that was apparently invisible, was stomping towards him. Did it intend to harm him? Common sense dictated that it did, but there must at least be a small chance that it didn't right? If only he could see the damn thing! It would be a crime against science to harm what might well be a creature never before seen on Idalos for anything less than self defense!

At that point Elitza's crossbow bolt whizzed through the air and struck it's tree. Tio's eyes widened in surprise and delight as the creature melded into sight; as long black feathers like shadows at dusk and a beak as jagged as a craggy mountain top faded out of thin air. It was a... a...

"It's a duck!" He shouted with childish glee, throwing his hands in the air as if he was looking at a parade instead of into the face of death. "It's... It's a duck! A giant monster duck! Oh it's... BEAUTIFUL! So BEAUTIFUL! This is absolutely marvelous! Something completely, entirely unique in the entire world! Gods above I have never wanted to befriend something nearly as much as I have wanted to befriend you!"

There was just no way he could hurt the super-duck. No way. How could he possibly lay a scratch on something so remarkable? Instead of fighting Tio turned tail and ran, sprinting and laughing like a lunatic to try and keep himself out of the ducks attack range and its attention focused on him. "Don't hurt it!" He shouted to the others, his smile practically audible in his tone. "Don't you dare lay a finger on it! This thing is the scientific discovery of the millennium! The university will sing our praises for centuries if we can bring this thing back to them alive! Find a way to capture it!"

Re: High Noon in Saun

"Silence Reigns . . ."

It was about the moment when the demonic duck turned it's attention to Elitza beside me that I wished I had bought a bigger club. Waterfowl or not, the creature was much larger than me or my makeshift weapon, and that frightened me. Unlike Tio Silver, I was not at a point in my martial experience that I could exclaim in joy when a foe like this one appeared. No, instead my instinctual desire to survive kicked in above anything else. Yet, I couldn't exactly run away or hide either. Besides the newcomer who skipped through the water like a child, I actually didn't want to see anyone get hurt. I just knew I had to be extra careful in the ensuing fight.

Shuffling to the right, I moved to put some distance between Elitza and I, all the while facing the direction of the duck in case it abruptly charged. Although I was by any means a tactician, common sense dictated that clustering together only made the group a larger target for the creature. Forcing it to pick individual targets left its flanks open for counterattacks. That was, of course, assuming that the creature had no ranged attacks toss in our general direction. I moved enough away to allow the duck to pass between the archer and I, though I doubted it would try that sort of maneuver.

While I was moving, I looked into my own Tangle, pinpointing the vibrant thread of fear wrapped around my psyche. It was without a doubt an emotion caused by the creature across from me and I needed it out of my way for the moment, lest it cripple me in a pivotal moment in the fight. Grabbing the thread, I knotted the emotion away, feeling the sweet void where my fear had been trills before. My companions were beyond my range for me to knot their own fear threads, so I made no attempt to do so. If they had any, of course. Tio Silver seemed too preoccupied in making the demon his pet and the Element Siorey would probably just tell it that U'Frek would smite it if it got too close, so truth be told the emotion was less present among the party than I might've first guessed.

Once I reach my chosen point, I spread my legs and held the club out defensively. The hope was that the duck would focus its frontal assault on anyone else but me, but I was prepared to leap to the left or right of an incoming charge. Not exactly capable, persay, but braced to make the attempt nevertheless.

Can I borrow a barrel of Banshee powder Tio, I need to hunt something large. You as an Immortal with the love of explosions should enjoy that. This thread had a few faces that are no longer part of the sight, which is quite sad. Tio really wanted to strip, perhaps that was his true calling. This was a fun thread, I wish it was finished. But I too wish to keep the demonic creature from the water.

If any of the PCs return they may DM me over the review
