Appearance
Ela has long, flowing brown hair that she constantly keeps tied up. It is poorly looked after and as such is kept long at all times. Her eyes are a deep blue, sharp and ferocious. Her claws are prominent on her hands, and her body is lean and tough. She also has sharp but small spikes along her arms. Her look is savage and fierce, a natural look she keeps to scare away other predators, which mixes well with her height of 6'4. As far as she is concerned, she is the Apex predator, and that shows in her look. Paint is often spread on her face, when she can afford it, and if she can’t then she will use the blood of her most recent prey.
Personality
Ela is very much conflicted between her human side and her animalistic side. On one hand, she wants to be a creature, a predator like no other. But one of the most important things to her is her family. Kura, most specifically. She wants to embrace her humanity, but all of her instincts are that of an animal, making her want blood and the hunt. This leads Ela to be brutal in personality, her tongue as sharp as her fangs.
History
Ela was born of Karem and a man called Alrur, destining her to a life of hunting. They lived in a small cabin in Scalvoris, in the wilderness. Her childhood until the age of five was fairly regular, though the time she spent with her mother was lacking compared to that of most children, as was true with her sister. It meant, however, that the time she did spend with them all together was that much more precious. She idolised her sister, and adored her mother.
When she reached five, she joined her father hunting. The two would go out together, with the dogs at their side, after animals. It started more with Ela watching, but she very quickly joined in. She was in no way good, but she loved it. It was her passion, she came to life when she was chasing after animals, dogs at her side helping. But her hunting was more than that, it was the love she shared for them. The beautiful deer that would often come to the house, and she would give food to. She had a bond with nature almost as close as she had to the family around her.
This bond grew over years, her ability to hunt as well as her general physique changing. However, she always enjoyed the kill more than the friendship. Something about it was more rewarding. She started going out on her own at the age of eight, bringing the dogs with her and bringing home food for her father. It was then, however, that she had her first issue with predators. As the girl was coming home, her dogs barked, growling at something. Ela, young and afraid, stayed behind them – as a small pack of hounds emerged from the trees.
Before Ela could run in her panic, or the dogs attack, the hounds started screeching. Their noise made Ela drop to her knees, covering her ears in pain as her dogs whimpered and ran back to the house, leaving Ela and the hounds. She tried to crawl away, leaving the two rabbits behind, but it was no use. A dog pounced and pinned the girl down, scratching at her chest, leaving a gash from her chest to her stomach. Her scream was enough, however, for her mother to find her.
An arrow struck the beast down, shattering it’s skull, before a small pack of wolves came – one abnormally large. The alpha wolf roared at the creatures, causing them to run in panic, before Karem immediately ran to Ela to get her to safety. Ela had passed out from the injury already, and was in a bad state. Without any hesitation, Karem took her back to the house. Her and Alrur put Ela in bed, before a healer was found and summoned.
As she was healed, Ela had dreams. Dreams of the beasts that had attacked her, but more importantly, those that had saved her. Big wolves, fierce creatures with razor sharp fangs and vicious claws. Her heart beat quickened as her head rushed with these predators, hunting and taking down their enemies. These dreams continued for the hours she was unconscious, until she woke up to the sight of her mother stood over her. Karem embraced the girl, the healer having done all she could before leaving.
For seasons, those dreams continued, every night without fail. When Ela told Karem about it, she said it was just nightmares, that the girl was bound to be scared from what had happened and that it was all just a dream. But to Ela, it felt like much more than that. Watching the wolves hunt, watching them tear different animals apart as the dreams changed, becoming more and more vivid. One night, in Cylus, the girl’s dream was different. The wolves ran at their prey, but this time the prey was her. As soon as the wolf pounced, she awoke, to the sound of a shout.
As Ela got up to look, her door was kicked open by a man, coated in blood. She’d never seen him before. The realisation kicked in as she saw the shimmering dagger in his hands, and her eyes widened. It was in that moment her powers came to life. Her nails burst in to claws, and a primal instinct took over. She pounced the man as he came close, her claws sinking in to his shoulder and chest, gripping on tight. As the man fell to the ground, her claws kept going, tearing through his flesh violently. His screams filled the house as she ripped chunks of him away, before finally landing the killing blow, tearing his throat out with a sharp swing.
Immediately, she got up and ran to the room, shouting for her father – only to see what she feared. By the front door, lying in a pool of his own blood, was Alrur – stab wounds over him. She knelt down beside him, sobbing in to the man, begging for him to wake up. But he didn’t, and wouldn’t ever again. Ela suddenly felt alone.
For a day, the girl sat on her own, looking at her fathers body in the house. But then her hunger kicked in. Not for cooked food, but for blood and flesh. Seeing her father on the floor, and the man that killed him, made her stomach growl. It was a hunger she couldn’t control, couldn’t grasp. It started to become unbearable. Hesitantly, the girl stood up, looking at the killers body and walking over to it. She knelt down over it and put her nose to it, sniffing it. The scent smelt different, appetising.
Before she knew it, she’d lost control, and was tearing through the body with her teeth and claws, eating what she could of it. It was too much for her in one go, but she ate more than was expected of a girl her size. When she realised what she had done, she started to cry. But nobody heard her, nobody saw her tears or her sadness. She was alone.
Two weeks later, Karem came back to the house to check on the girl. As she arrived at the door, she saw it was kicked in, and immediately came rushing in. When she walked in the door, her eyes widened with horror. Curled up on the floor was Ela, fast asleep. Surrounding her, however, was a pile of bodies. Three dogs, mostly eaten, and two people. Neither of the people were recognisable, but it took little for Karem to see what had happened.
Carefully, Karem woke the girl. Seeing her mother, the shell of a girl embraced her. But it was clear she was different. Her body language had changed, and her breathing seemed similar to that of low growls. Karem picked up the girl, and promised to take her home where she would be safe.
When the two arrived back in the eternal empire, Ela was nothing like Karem or Kura remembered her to be. She was broken from what had happened, and broken from the fact that she had to eat flesh – especially that of her father. But after two weeks of it, and nothing but it, it became almost instinct. She craved it, couldn’t eat without it. Whether it was animal or human. This was put on show when she was offered cooked food and was sick when she tried to eat it, but when presented with a raw deer ate happily to her hearts content.
Over the next few seasons, both tried to help Ela gain control of her powers, teach her how to use them. But the more time she spent using them, the more wild she became. So the two split up responsibility. Karem helped Ela control and use her wild side, to hunt and to grow in prowess, where Kura was given the task of helping her function in society. Ela was able to live civilly, but when given the chance, her Wild side always took over. This was most prominent when the three would hunt together, Ela preferring speed and her claws than a weapon.
While out hunting, Ela’s first Dominate was brought through, a Feral dog being taken. While her and the dog competed, Karem and Kura watched, seeing how the girl behaved like an animal, using her speed and strength to her advantage. Eventually, she dominated the beast, proving to be superior – and her first relationship outside of her family begun. She named the beast Alrur, after her father, and the two went hunting together often.
Eventually, as Ela grew more accustomed to her wild side, she found her own footing. Over years she worked on refining her abilities and hunting prowess, going out with Alrur to hunt a lot. As she grew older, she became more independent, so Kura leaving wasn’t such a bad thing for her. She missed her sister, but it was one less person to keep her wild side in check.
After years of living in the Eternal Empire, Ela decided to move back to where she had once lived in Scalvoris. With her mothers permission, she left. But instead of going back to the house, or to civilization, she found a cave – settling there. Gradually her cave became more like home, as Ela lived her life like the beast she wanted to be. It was later that Arc she met Kura again, and her hunting adventures just became more and more interesting.
Housing
Ela is settled in a cave, marked with her Wild Refuge, near Sweetwine Woods. This location was specifically chosen to be near her sister Kura, and for the wilderness around her. Inside it are all of her supplies, as well as her dog Alrur. Because of her ability, the area is void of predators that aren't her own and filled with prey, prey animals sat in the area and enjoying the peace of it

Domains and Powers:
Predators - Predatory Form
Predatory Form - Ela is slowly trying to become the perfect predator, a hunter like no other. One of the ways her form has helped enhance this is by physical changes to her form, altering her body to be like that of a predator. Three changes are in play with this, her eyes, claws and fangs. Her fangs and claws are sharp enough to tear through flesh, and to do serious damage to some strong materials. Her eyes give her the ability to see in darkness easier, giving her expanded low light vision like that of other predators. All of these appear animalistic, her eyes slit and a deep red, where her claws and fangs appear sharp and ferocious. With this evolution came a deep and feral hunger for fresh meat. Ela is unable to eat a meal that has been cooked and has cravings for fresh blood. The longer Ela goes without eating the harder it gets to ignore the cravings, until she gets desperate and can’t hold back anymore. This hunger can only be ignored for two days before the cravings start again, and in another two days without eating she’ll lose control, going on a killing spree until her hunger has been sated. This rampage will normally last at least four breaks, but has lasted up to ten before, and as few as two.
Dominance - Alpha Dominance
Alpha Dominance - Ela has the power to assert her dominance to other predators, showing them her ability. This is done through Dominance, an ability that allows her to pick a target animal. Once this animal has been chosen, she must make a show of power and ability, proving to the beast that she is superior. This is done through conflict between the two, where Ela must physically dominate the animal in a fight directly. Whoever wins out and takes down the other, without killing of course, rises to the top predator. Should the creature win, it will leave, knowing that it is superior to Ela, leaving Ela with a burst of depression for 10 trials. If Ela wins however, the creature will become her companion, accepting her as it's Alpha and as the top predator. This means that her word is law, and it will follow it as such, as well as her friends being equally important to the animal. This can only be done once per season, and Ela may only have one animal dominated at a time. Should her animal die, Ela's intelligence will revert to that of a wild animal for 5 trials, causing her to become feral and animalistic, losing all sense of humanity for those trials.
Ferity - Wild Refuge
Wild Refuge - Encompassing the ferity of the forest, Ela is able to mark a space for herself in any non-civilized area, typically a forest or jungle. Requiring her to cut her hand and drip her blood along its perimeter in a fifty square yard diameter, this marks the place as a Wild Refuge. While Ela remains in her Wild Refuge, the place is a ward to predators and those that would seek to harm the Mortalborn. The predatory species of the area avoid the Wild Refuge, paying deference to the predator that has staked its claim there, Ela. Additionally, prey animals are drawn to the Wild Refuge, seeking a place of comfort and safety from the beasts around them. They are unaware, though, of the true danger that lies within.
The Wild Refuge can be broken, however, by a sapient intruder entering its diameter. Because it works only to keep out animal predators, an unwanted mortal entering the zone cancels the effect, but provokes Ela and the prey animals to attack to defend her territory. This isn’t true if Ela is expecting the person, and has put a drop of her blood on them within the last trial. If the Refuge is broken in this way, Ela will be immediately alerted of it. As well as this, the prey animals will attack whoever has entered the area in an attempt to defend their safe space.
Ferity - Feral Form
Feral Form - When Ela is overcome with intense emotion or in mortal danger, the Ferity inside of her bursts free with a bloody and horrific transformation. After ten trills of transformation with agonizing pain, Ela becomes a new predator. Thick scales cover her body and her natural weapons grow to match it. As well as this, a thick scaled tail covers her back with sharp barbs running down the sides. Her claws are sharper and figure designed to be quick and agile, allowing swift movements and easier manoeuvring. When entering this form the girl is given access to the new abilities the form offers, yet with it comes a dark drawback. When first activating this power Ela will lose all control, turning entirely animalistic. Without the right training of Discipline or Meditation Ela will never be able to leave or control this form. While locked in this form her skills are limited in growth to whatever she could feasibly do, more difficult skills like Smithing impossible with that form. Even with control of the power, Ela can never activate it of her own accord. When her Discipline reaches Competent the girl will be able to differentiate friend from foe and, at expert, she will be able to have some level of control. This form will last until she can regain control, in which case it will end when she decides to end it. Only dangerous situations and intense emotion will reactivate it, however. In this form her skills remain relative to her size, scaling as her normal body would. Transforming back is equally painful and also lasts for five seconds.
