.

Personality

Yrmellyn's passion is magic, art and her crafts. A seeker open to new experience, Yrmellyn is prone to be curious and feel interested in all kinds of intriguing people and phenomena life sends her way. This can sometimes lead her to deliberately provoke reactions; Yrmellyn likes to cross lines, shock people, shake their perception of themselves and their world, and stir up emotional agitation. She is something of a catalyst for turbulence. There's a playful and teasing side to her which can annoy people with a rigid view on authority.

She is more introverted than extroverted, but not extremely so. Her basic temperament it somewhat volatile, but Yrmellyn is mostly an agreeable personality. It's easy to speak with her, whether it's serious discussions or just light social small talk. The challenge of conversing with Yrmellyn can instead be the topics she raise, which aren't always pleasant or proper. Her view on touchy subjects is that it's interesting to point them out and try to examine them, whether other people agree with her or not.

Yrmellyn can be well organized when she wishes or must, but she often prefers to be carefree and artistic. She ran wild in a quite normless environment during her childhood, so discipline and order isn't deeply instilled in her from early age. She acquired these virtues later and applies them when it serves her ends.

Her attitude leans towards the positive, but Yrmellyn is well aware of darkness as well as of light and when she takes a positive stance it's not because of being naïve but due to her experience of how a positive stance is sometimes all we have.

Her voice is a clear and strong contralto voice. She doesn't speak loudly, but when she sings the volume, vocal range and clarity of her voice can be amazing. This served her well in the later part of her childhood when the voice had developed and she could sing on the streets to make money. Her voice, though not schooled, was also an asset in her past as a high end courtesan as it enabled her to entertain with song at parties and in private.

History

It's best to not speak too much about Yrmellyn's past.

Yrmellyn was born in the slum, in the Dusk Qarter in Rharne. She was raised by Aunt Vilda, a woman of many talents, and had a varied and eventful childhood that included many wondrous experiences as well as begging, crime, and street performances.

After this Yrmellyn's advanced to professional courtesan. She lived in luxury in the Glass Quarters in Rharne, thanks to her protectors (rich business owners) wishing to show off their wealth to their peers, by keeping a high end courtesan in splendor and grandeur.

The last of her protectors was the rich but consumptous master painter and mage Mariuz Arbin, who had a huge and lasting impact on Yrmellyn and her life. Feeling that his days were numbered, he offered Yrmellyn to teach her to paint, but also the secret and magical side of his business: attunement and ensorcellment. This way she would one day be able to follow in his footpaths and so provide for herself by her crafts.

Yrmellyn knew her days as high end courtesan were numbered too. The allure of youth would wear off, as it do for all. The arrangement would save her from the fate of a fading courtesan. She agreed. Mariuz initiated her to ensorcellment and attunement, and so her journey into art and magic began. When Mariuz's finally gave in to the illness, she had already learnt enought to be able to carry on alone. Yrvellyn didn't pick up her life as courtesan and sought no new protector. She was a painter now, a mysticist and mage.

Marks, Magic & Mutations

Domain Magic Attunement

Initiation Story

1.Puzzle Eyes

Image

The first mutation of Attunement, the Witchmark is seen in the eyes and only if one looks closely. They will find that the pupil and sclera are divided by a myriad of proportionate lines, almost as though the eyes were deconstructed and places back together. These ‘Puzzle Eyes’ are the only way to identify an Attuner without magic or their own admission.

This was approved in the PSF 2018-01-11 by Aegis

2. Enriched Impressions

Image

The mutation of Competent level, Enriched Impressions is a mental mutation caused by domain magic attunement, which manifests by Yrmellyn perceiving things with several senses at same time. For example when Yrmellyn hears a sound she may also experience for example a color, a texture, a pattern, a shape, a sequence in space, a tactile sensation, a taste or a smell, or get feelings that “mirrors” the feelings of other people. It's the same for other senses, for example visual impressions can get bundled with sound and other non-visual impressions, feelings can be associated with colors, sound and so on, eg the senses are linked and perception is multiple.

PSF Approval here

Mutation Lore

" Attunement is also known as ‘The Gentle Magic’. Those who practice it find that they do not accrue any mutations save through Overstepping.

Any accidental mutations within Attunement are usually attributed to the senses and the mind rather than any physical mutation."

Yrmellyn has no immortal marks yet.
