Some Questions Before Starting

Hello! This is my second character on the site. I thought I'd take a break from my first after running into several problems and learning from those many mistakes. So why not start with another? Before I get into the nitty-gritty of filling out my CS, I thought I'd ask a few preliminary questions.

1. Are tattoos a thing in Standing Trials? And if so, would this skill fall under "needlecraft"?
2. Is anyone able to link me to the proper form for filling out an NPC business?
3. Are Yludih able to change sex when they transform into other races?
4. Can I start out having a Fenrix as my prized possession so long as I have an adequate history of why my character has acquired it?
5. Can you acquire skills/knowledge through writing? For example, if my character is writing a story about someone who can mine, and my character has learnt about mining through someone or some resource, would they get XP for both the writing and mining skill?
And lastly,
6. Does anyone have any good web-browser image editors to help make an image of someone appear... crystalline?

Hello Tous! You should link up your character to your other character account in the UCP so that the system knows it's you That is if you haven't done so already.

1. Yes, they're a combination of Cosmetology and Medicine.

5. Mmmm, to a point you can read about these things but beyond Competent level you'd be expected to actually have practical experience. Writing about them without actual experience isn't likely to gain you much understanding.
6. I like using Pxlr. You can also use a sort of AI studio that uses models trained by artists, such as Nightcafe.

2. Do I need to add a knowledge for the race of my character? Example: Race | Yludih?
3. Am I "okay" to expect "bad guys" in the location of my character?
4. I understand initiation into a first magic discipline requires PSF approval, but does a second require it?

No problem.

1. I think getting to competent in medicine would be good enough for that skill, for the purposes of tattooing, to prevent infection of the skin. After that, I think Cosmetology is the more important skill for tattooing. But more elaborate tattoos may require more medical attention after the fact, for the inks used and so on. So the quality of tattoos in my opinion would be tied to the lowest of the skills (cosmetology or medicine). So if you have expert cosmetology, and competent medicine, you'd only be able to safely apply average quality tattoos (for competent). If both skills are expert, you'd be able to apply good tattoos safely. Medicine is the safety skill, for the purposes of applying the inks and needle without infecting or injuring the canvas. Cosmetology is the part that determines how fancy or pretty or elaborate the tattoo is.

For the purposes of knowledge that is dedicated to tattoo application, just take the knowledge that relates to how the skill applies to tattooing. Medicine would be more focused on treating the needled area and keeping it clean, etc. Things that tattoo artists need to do for the sake of safety of the canvas or skin of the tattooed person. Cosmetology knowledge would be focused on making the tattoo look good on the person it was applied to. Make sense?

2. No not really. You're assumed to have some basic knowledge of what you are, as an adult Yludih your parent (usually the mother as enclaves of Yludih are exceptionally rare and thus for their own safety usually separate, as the Yludih are generally persecuted) would've taught you all you need to know about being Yludih, and the need to hide what you are, and how to enter Uleuda to get support from other Yludih.

3. Yes, but please look into the local lore to see what kind of baddies to expect. There's crime everywhere, for instance, but there are also specific criminal organizations. If in doubt, ask/pm your local mod for ideas.

4. You can be initiated into two magics at creation, if you want. Up to two. They don't require psf approval, but you need to get psf approval for level-ups if you are using spark magics, to get your mutations sorted for that level.
