[Etzos] The story of Billy Bones ~ Part Two

Etzos, ‘The City of Stones’ is a fortress against the encroachment of Immortal domination of Idalos. Founded on the backs of mortals driven to seek their own destiny independent of the Immortals, the city has carved itself out of the very rock of the land. Scourged by terrible wars of extermination, they've begun to grow again, and with an eye toward expansion, optimism is on the rise.

[Etzos] The story of Billy Bones ~ Part Two

Image
The Watcher being made here
Winston is making a watcher.

This device is a
Holo-com V2
, which he has had approved and made already.

Further to this, it has Sovereign's Animate technique added to it to allow it to be animated, as per his
Scriby
.

It has the light added also, using a well of the sun as per this shield.

In essence, everything has been done before, he's just combining them here.
In the light of the forge, under the watchful eye of a master (by some standards, but not his own) of magics, the latest of Idalos' miraculous creations was coming into being. For most, the wonders of Winston's forge were beyond words, but to him, they were never anything more than the most recent small step in the never ending series of steps towards something else. He often considered that he had never actually finished anything, not really 'finished' finished it anyway. His devices always seemed little more than the most recent prototype of the next thing he wanted to create and this creation was no different.

Having created the very well-rehearsed Holo-com, he added a little light, some Sovereign and a few alchemical tweaks and improvements to increase its chances of making it places unnoticed.

The flying thing floated before him, glowing and shifting around as he continued to sing the song that was forming the magic in the room, triggering the glyphs and sealing the well-dust into the object. The glowing ball fell silent as he placed the last of the glyphs into it's surface with the tip of his hammer, his goggles holding back the sweat from his brow and the wells finally falling silent.

"Et's time." He said with a grin to no one in particular. The new receiver he'd designed attached to his wrist, held in place by a strap of leather. He studied it for a moment to make sure it was fastened well.

"Next, we need tuh make de signs..." It was to quiet in the forge without Joe and Felicity, or perhaps Cho to cheer things up. He was not sure he liked it. Thus deciding, he sent out a little call to his
Forged Diri
to check on things. "How goes et, Joe?"

The diri reported back with a tone of some boredom lacing his words. Steakouts were not his speed and
Felicity
had stopped talking to him any more than absolutely necessary about a break before. "Not a lot. Bob got pooped on by a bird that came an perched on it for a while."

This tickled the ferret as he went through the vast list of names he'd created. "Hehe. Poor bab. Noh worries, me will be dere soon."

"Oh thank Tuck for that. You know, one more break and I'd have been floating over the heads of the skellingtons and pretending to be their faces just to get a rise out of people."

Taking pity on his friend he sent him the nest set of instructions. "Oh-Kay, so Felicity as de locashuns af the stationary scellies?"

There was a paused before the spirit replied. "Yup."

"Great! An we gat a gud idea af some af de patrols?" he added, as he started putting together some signs using craps of metal and hammering things manically as he put together the plaques made, some of metal, others of wood.

"Yeah..." Came the reply after a short while. "...though we are not entirely clear at to how many there are, becuase they all look some damn similar."

Chuckling, the ferret replied with a tone tha filled the Diri with dread. "Oh don't yuh worry, Joe, me gat dat covered."

  • Cassion's Locket hangs snugly around his neck.

There were things that people should and should not do and one such thing one should not do included wandering around town labeling things one didn't own.... Deciding that this only meant he should not get caught doing it, Winston made his way over the a cupboard in the far corner of the room. He stopped and gestured towards the secret compartment in its bottom. "A ninja tunight please Chest..." He suggested amiably.

Without delay, his
rainbow-coloured wraps
began to rise out of the draw and lay themselves in his arms. "Me jost getting dressed, an me will be dere." he said to his Diri companion.

Taking some time to wrap himself up in the multi-coloured suit of stealth armour, he giggled an almost tuneless little song to himself.

"OK. Don't forget to let Shinwa know where you are. You know Angela will not be pleased if you get arrested without even letting her know where you were." The spirit reminded him helpfully, if a little cynically.

"Yup, an et, Chief..." He replied.

Despite being late, Faith had been told, of course, that she was free to use Winston home as her own. She had her own quarters, of course, but was welcome to use any of his tools if she felt like it. Such it was that as Faith headed down into the forge for whatever reason had taken her to do so, she found her host with one arm stuck in what looked like a rainbow bandage. The ferret looked up, more than half covered in the comical attempt at clandestined attire, a 'busted' look on his face and a grin.

"OH, Felicity said Billy is moving." ... "Please 'old..." He replied to Joe telepathically.

"Hay Faith! 'ow yuh doin'?" He queried in an attempt to appear casual. Us was usual, the forge was littered in projects, both complete in ncomplete, the most prominent of them the Watcher sitting in the middle of the alchemical circle waiting to be collected for the nights shenanigans. Also, there was a pile of small metal badges on the table that had not previously been there.
