Welcome to the Iulure Isles.
The Cerbyd Awyr or commonly known as the Hyludin Air ships are flying vehicles but don’t look like ships. The Hyludin unlike any other human race mastered air travel and their water based technology don’t extend beyond fishing boats. When they eventually began to craft vehicles that fly they didn’t had any sailing technologies so it was independently crafted. The Cerbyd Awyr fly because of the material they are crafted with and the Hyludin’s spirit technology Anokiteques.
They are more cylinder in shape with a sharp point at each end. They are constructed of the Hyludin’s floating wood, iron wood and steel. The age and importance of a ship can be determined by how much carving has been worked into exposed wood. Windows are placed into the craft and spaced periodically along the sides to allow light and air inside. The top of the ship usually is made sliding doors that allows them to be opened and creating a deck like room. Also on that floor is the control room and kitchen which also allows for the ceiling to be opened. From there depending on the size will depend on where and how many of other rooms are position. Unless the ship is purely a cargo ship, they usually have a cabin, storage, and bathrooms. The quantity and other compartment types may vary based on other factors. The bottom of the ship also has a sliding door but this is more for loading cargo or launching flyers as needed.
The interior are originally as plain as the outside but with age gain carvings and are decorated by the inhabitants of the rooms. Very little furniture is used on the ships, limited to beds, chairs, and tables. Drawers and such storage compartments are built into the walls that separate the rooms. No storage compartments are found in the hull of the ship. Compartments are customized by its inhabitants both in terms of items and decorations.
The Cerbyd Awyr come in a verity of sizes.
Cargo Awyr (The Air Cargo)
The original size of Cerbyd Awyr. These were built for the simple purpose of transporting cargo and objects. They come in various sizes. These are the one category of Cerbyd Awyr that has a completely different shape. They are basically wagon shape. It is a flat bed with sides to hold in the cargo. Their is a control devise on one side which might also come with a chair for the driver to sit in.
Unawd Awyr (The Personal Craft)
These air ships are the smallest true air ships made by the Hyludin. They are designed for one or two people. They have a control room, a deck, kitchen, bedroom with the toilet, and a storage room. These are usually used by isolationist Hyludin or possible wealth youth who want to live on their own.
Teulu Awyr (The Family Craft)
These ships are the medium sized air ships. They are the more commonly pictured airships as they are larger enough to fit between a dozen or two inhabitants. They have all of the basic rooms but larger. They also have additional bed rooms and the bathroom are separate rooms. These also have small cold storage in addition the usually have a a couple rooms set aside for work purpose, what ever that may be for the occupants. These crafts tend to be old and well maintained and passed from generation to generation. Newer ones tend to be custom built by wealthier families. This size of ship is also commonly built to be used as transport ships.
Cymuned Awyr (The Neighborhood Craft)
These are the largest Cerbyd Awry, outside of military craft, they are designed to hold a dozen families. Besides what is found in the smaller ships this has more as well as a couple community rooms. These where the vessels that truly made it possible for the Hyludin to take their cities into the air. Often the work rooms are down a hall together that allows people to shop down that hall. These have been the most commonly built ships for the past couple hundred years. The older versions of these are well cared for and often suites of apartments are passed down from generation to generation. Some times this class of ship is used as a manor for some of the extremely wealthy.
Dinas Awyr (The Cities Bases)
These are floating docking stations that allow many Cerbyd Awry dock and use the base to move between vessels. These locations have no private rooms and are composed of public spaces and shop spaces. It isn’t uncommon for these to expand vertically given Hyludin’s flight abilities.
Military vessels
The military tends to have larger size ships that allow for large number of troops to launch from its decks but they do have smaller ones that allow for quick movements when fighting some of the nastier monsters.
The Exploration Fleet
The Exploration Fleet is composed of one Dinas Awyr. This one is unique in that it does have personal quarters and does have military defenses. It is also composed six of Cymuned Awyr that act as centers of sub fleets. There are a number of Teulu Awyr in the fleet. To allow of exploration and defense. All of the ships in the fleet where recently built and the ships were built for the purpose of exploration. They have defensive capabilities that normally aren’t built into civilian vessels. No Unawd Awyr were sent with the fleet.
