The shallow bay Egilrun is situated upon is used, these trials, for crafts and crafting. From boatmakers to weaponsmiths, glassblowers to metalworkers, the sound of hammers and saws can be heard almost every break of the trial, with crews working in shifts to produce the beautiful craftsmanship which they might, one trial, become famous for.

The Sea's Memory

Woe felt the watery displacement almost the very moment that Faith warned him. There was a shift of gravity that lifted straight out of the pit of his belly, disorienting him slightly on his feet. He almost pondered summoning his wings again to take flight off the WIcked Reaver. However, before he could do that the outlaw mariners called out, some in unison as they felt the water give way beneath them.

"Activate the Sea's Memory!"

And like that, their fall was cushioned by a construct of watery current. Not unlike the watery bridges that existed in Raj'Ufnaj, the ship began to sail the skies in this way, well above the watery plane of the ocean. Of course, the pirates would have ways of dealing with abberant water phenomenon. These were the crewmates of the Pirate Lords, using their very own ships. They'd sailed perhaps more than most legendary mariners, and had come up against Immortals in all likelihood, and things even worse than that. It stood to reason they were prepared for a bit of watery magic, as potent as Faith's was.

The Sea's Memory... Woe heard that and decided he needed to know what it was. He had perceived some movement when that call was made, and gravitated toward the Sea's Memory device, where he suspected it was being held. The men who'd activated it were currently busy at work, yet before Woe could intrude upon them he was halted by a voice from behind him.

"Hold it there, swabby. Turn around let me get a look atcher."

Woe stopped at the threshold, and turned around, "Yeah? What?"

The pirate was a Lotharro man. Why was it always a Lotharen, catching him out? Anyway, the Lotharen approached. He was maybe an inch or three taller than Woe. He stood, looking slightly down on him as he grimaced.
"I seen yer before.
But where? I know every swabby that shits over the deck. And yer not one of 'em."
"Are you sure about that?
" Woe asked, "I think there's rum in your eye, mate."

"Nah, I wish." The Lothar ground his teeth together with malice, as he regarded the intereevening Mortalborn. "I ain't' had a taste of the stuff in... Ageless only knows."

"This is the Wicked Reaver." Said Woe.

"Aye?"

Woe felt his nerves harden as he prepared to tell the lie. It was entirely inscrutable on his face, his skills at deception were immense, almost as much as his discipline. Yet even then, he wasn't willing to take a chance here that he'd been caught out. He had to call upon Falsehood's Favor an ability granted to him by one of the spirit guardians of Mount Ornthrus.

"You've quite a sharp eye, young sailor. I am not part of this crew." Woe held back the power until the opportune moment. The Lothar's hand drifted to the head of an axe in his belt, as he readied himself for a potential fight. "I come from the Ageless himself, he has taken Slag's Deep and made it his stronghold with treasures beyond belief stored within."

"You're sharp to have recognized me, perhaps you've seen me with the Ageless, discussing this or that in Port Diablo. I am his servant. The Prince of Eternal Mercies."

"I can get you into Slag's Deep, to reunite with him." Woe sighed, "But the automatic defenses of Egilrun have triggered, as you will have noticed from the water's dropping. It won't be long before troops move upon Slag's Deep. We should bring the other ships, signalling them, and marshal our strength there. The Ageless will welcome his kindred with open arms, I'm sure of it."
Actions Taken
1. Woe moves to react to the mention of the Sea's Memory, to scout it out and find out what it is.
2. He's intercepted by a pirate quartermaster, or one of the higher ranking crew members.
3. Woe lies like a grand master, using his abilities to lie about who he is, and several things about the Ageless.
4. He invites the fleet, including the Wicked Reaver, and the other two ships' crew, to hole up in Slag's Deep, where the Ageless has accumulated all his treasure and power, having taken it over.
5. Woe waits for a reply and response from the crew.

Pirates!

Thankfully for Faith, Woe had left Radburn behind and, as she held off for a moment or two, while Woe gathered information, she listened to Radburn as he described Woe's plan to her. It had some merit, she thought, but she worried about the need for the ships to travel, albeit a short distance, to Slag's Deep. More than that, she was concerned that Woe was taking them alone.

Faith knew, however, that once the words were spoke, she and Woe were not sympatico enough to be able to juggle any amendments and so, she kept her face neutral and whispered to Redburn, making sure that Woe knew that she had both heard his words and understood what he was doing. It didn't sit well with her, the deception and the risk. It didn't sit well with her at all. But if she didn't play along here, if she made changes on the fly then she would risk him.

So, Faith decided that she needed to be "all in" with this. Their reaction to her removing the water was such that Faith was clear. They were too prepared. Maybe they weren't prepared specifically against her and maybe they were just prepared for water-based combat. But wheels on ships and floating not-water? No. That wasn't something that she was allowing to continue.

Woe was on one of the ships and she quietly informed Radburn that she would dispatch the other two ships - or try to.

Woe was on the Wicked Reaver. The ship which had been the Warden's and so Faith focused on the other two. The Slit Throat had fallen when she took the water, but it had wheels. Later, Faith would marvel at the ludicrous nature of reality, but for now she simply accepted it. The Wicked Reaver was Woe's ship and the Falcon started to fly.

So, Faith's thought was simple. And her actions were equally so.

She turned the roof of water into a roof of ice and she dropped the ice on the Slit Throat. One mile's worth of water should give them plenty to deal with. If she could get the Falcon too, she would. However, she thought it likely that she couldn't get the Falcon, too, so she used her crosswindne of the more overtly dangerous powers available to the Bearer, especially against anything that flies. This power allows the Bearer to generate two powerful, intersecting gusts of wind that come from different directions. This power can disorient ground based targets, making it hard for them to see due to the conflicting winds and even interfering with their weapons, especially ranged weapons. Flying targets, however, tend to be knocked out of the air when caught in this power, due to the opposing winds, though particularly large flying creatures may be able to resist, while more nimble targets may be able to recover before hitting the ground. If a target cannot resist or recover, however, their landings can be quite hazardous, as they are essentially beaten out of the air. It is not uncommon for flying creatures to break bones, including snapping their necks, upon collision with the ground. ability on The Falcon at the same time as an enormous and rather scary looking creatureThe Spirit companion of the Bellinos grows more capable at this level. Having developed its relationship with the Bellinos, the Spirit becomes capable of manifesting to attack the foes of the Bellinos. When fully manifested, Greater Death spirits like the one that follows the Exalted will be immense, wingspans each the length of a horse's body. They maintain their appearance as a carrion bird, albeit cut from shadow with bright shining white eyes. Their talons are wickedly sharp and impart a heavy sense of foreboding death to those cut, often destroying an opponent's morale. In addition, the wounds fester and rot. If the opponent is something like a necromancer's thralls, the talons of the Death Spirit will quickly reduce the undead into an ashy heap of decaying flesh. When damaged, the spirit will retreat to the Beneath, the world beyond the physical in order to heal. attacked the Falcon. And if she needed to, she'd use the crosswind again.

As she did, she communicated with Woe. She could cancel all the magic, she whispered to Redburn - and that would include the ship. If he wanted to go to Slag's Deep, she wouldn't do it, but it was an option for him.

Pinnace Envy

That Woe, even now, harbored a measure of fascination for the Warden, his life and history might've been a liability here. In fact, his envy for the Warden's position and power had once nearly been his undoing, were it not for the benevolence of his patron. He wanted to know more about the Warden, about his crew, and ply the members for every last ounce of information. But it was becoming increasingly clear that this particular vessel's crew was out of its depth in the situation. They'd blundered out of nowhere, seemingly, a crew out of time and unaware of the Warden's fate. If they knew any information that was genuinely interesting to Woe, beyond fascinating anecdotes they might have of his adventures, it wasn't going to be useful. Woe had no time for sentimentality here. The crew would go the way of its captain, so he sent his intentions along to Faith, and had Radburn tell her:

Radburn trilled in his jolly voice, "My client, Woe Morandi, bids you to do as you wish with the Wicked Reaver. he has no further use for its crew. He will do what he can to sow confusion on board the vessel, but in the meantime..."

Woe looked at the Quartermaster, who asked him how he'd gotten aboard, asking with a casual tone, almost. He seemed at ease with the situation, although there was certainly an urgency now that their ship was caught in a windbreak. "I flew in." Woe said, simply, and his wings unfurled behind him as they flapped, catching the stale air and sending him backward, over the ship and toward the place where he knew Fiath would be. As he flew backward, he breathed forth a cone of utter terror, using the Fear Breath that Kuvarakh had gifted him to treat the crew on deck to their worst nightmares.

This done, he conjured a set of armor, lest they try to shoot or attack him, using Wealth Parasite to drain the Quartermaster's wealth to conjure a masterwork suit of armor to himself, on the level of protection of steel plate.

Once he had the armor, and the wings were swiftly bearing him backward, he tried to make some distance into the air, to grab a hold of Soz, his dragonling, which was flying stealthily around the Wicked Reaver and had been. As he caught onto her saddle, he pulled himself onto it, and bid Soz to unleash a shadowy breath on the Wicked Reaver, to obstruct their vision.

Then, he made for Faith's position, hoping to bolster whatever plans she might be forming without interfering in her designs on all three ships.

Pirates!

The Slit Throat was taken care of.

There were stragglers, and there was an individual bouncing about with rupturing like she didn't know quite what. But the first part of that was fine and the second part - the teleporting individual - would need to be taken care of in a moment. The Falcon was flying about and Faith simply continued to smack it with Crosswinds as much as she could.

Which allowed her to focus on the Wicked Reaver.

Woe was off it, which she was pleased with - she didn't like the idea of one of them being on there just in case they needed to get all "big guns" on the vessel. Faith first created a SnowcloneA defensive power, Snowclone allows the Blessed to create a clone of either themselves or their Kaldvind out of snow. This clone will then become mobile and will mirror the movements of the original, and will last until either the Bearer dissipates the clone or it gets attacked. If it gets attacked, the weapon or person that attacked it will be frozen for a short time. of her Kaldvind. She knenew that her Kaldvind worked best when given direction and left to it's own devices, so Faith did just that. It's job was to destroy that ship, to make it unable to function - and to not get itself killed, thank you muchly. So, the two Kaldvinds attacked the ship - the very structure itself of the vessel. She wanted to make sure that this thing went nowhere.

Faith, for her part, remained on the shore line, ready to be the final line of defence and, after a brief check with Woe via this strange Diri and once she was sure that he was safe, she activated Famula's TearA diamond in the shape of a perfect tear-drop, this gem is one of enormous power. Once per Season (so twice in any given Cycle, but must be separate seasons) it sends out a wave of which alters the reality of Idalos and pulls all Domain ether to it. Within its radius of 1,000ft, it absorbs ether from items and mages. Any magical item created with Domain magic, Domain Well or any kind of Domain magic currently in effect is neutralized, and mages find themselves unable to cast. It does not discern between friend or foe, but pulls all Domain ether into it. After a full break, it stops and the diamond turns black. It returns to it's original brilliance only when ready to be used again. Every magical item would stop working and, since these ships were very obviously magical she figured that it might well pose them something of a problem.

Of course, it had no impact on the Effigy abilities so she kept those coming.

Kaldvind's Upgrades
Wing Blade:
An upgrade to the Bearer's Kaldvind, this power gives the Kaldvind a pair of blades similar to their tail blades, but at the joint of the Kaldvinds wing. This wing blade will have all the same powers as the Kaldvinds tail blade, allowing them new ways to use their powers.
Ice Conversion:
This power works as an upgrade for the Bearer's Kaldvind, allowing the lesser dragon to sink their tail blade into the ground or into water, causing the ground or water to freeze solid for up to a 10 foot diameter around the Kaldvind. Kaldvind can use this at will or be ordered to by their rider, and they are very good at making clever use of this power if left to their own devices. Kaldvind who have this power have their tail blades start to have a light blue glow from within their tails.
Snow Blade:
An upgrade for the Kaldvind, this power causes the blade of the Kaldvind to create a snowdrift akin to the ones created from the Kaldvinds breath whenever it swings the blade, but doesn't strike anything. The snowdrift will follow the arc of the swing, and the tail blade has to be intentionally swung as an attack in order to create the snow drift. The outer shell of the Kaldvind's tail blade will turn white when this power is attained.
Tail Wind:
An upgrade for the Kaldvind's tail, Tail Wind gives the Kaldvinds tail blade a light whistling sound when the Kaldvind intentionally uses the tail blade to either use a power or attack. Tail Wind itself lets the Kaldvind surround its tail with a scalding wind, letting it cause wind burns with the tail or melt snow or ice with the tail blade. In addition, the Kaldvind can launch the wind off its tail as a sort of ranged slash, giving them more range with tail based attacks. They can also apply this effect to their wing blades if they have them.
Wind Claws:
An upgrade for the Kaldvinds claws, this power lets the Kaldvind send off shockwaves of sharp, freezing wind from their claws to attack their prey or enemies. This ability gives the Kaldvind's claws a sleeker, almost windswept sheen, as if they had been polished by the wind itself.
Frozen Wingbeat
A power that upgrades the Kaldvinds wings, this power allows the Kaldvind emit a gust of frozen wind from the beat of their wings, freezing anything non-organic and dropping the temperature of living things immensely. In colder climes this can cause hypothermia in living things. The Kaldvinds wings gain a coat of ice when this power is gained.
Crystal Bite:
An upgrade for the Kaldvinds fangs, this power massively increases the bite strength of the Kaldvind, allowing them to chew through even steel with relative ease. On harder substances, the Kaldvind can still do damage with their bite, but they may not be able to get completely through the substance. Once this power is acquired, the Kaldvinds fangs take on a fractal, crystaline appearance.
OOC Action List
  • Continue to cast Crosswind and sick PB on the Falcon.
  • Create a duplicate snowclone Kaldvind
  • Set the Kaldvinds on the Wicked Reaver.
  • Stop all magic and magic items in a 1,000ft radius.
  • Communicate with Woe throughout.

I Just Flew in from the Sea of Ghosts and Boy are my Arms Tired

As he approached Faith's position at the shoreline, Woe decided to slip off of his Kutzeldaur, sending Soz to check up on the positions of the Elements and Rangers in all of this, and hopefully reunite witih Gloom and Sage. He slipped out of the saddle, and flew off toward Faith, as Soz veered inland. The dragon-bearer descended to the ground, but soon was caught off guard by a sudden and strong gust from the coast. He flew off course. It surprised Woe how far the wind could blow him astray. He wasn't sure if Faith had spotted him, as her concentration seemed to be entirely focused on the ships, and the threat they posed.

While he tried to wrestle with the strength of the wind currents, he decided Faith was alright on her own. Woe landed a long distance away, near the harbor master's house. Finally, having landed, he dispelled his shadowy wings, and began jogging toward Faith's position. However, his ears picked up a soft conversation from the alleyway.

"I gave you the goods on the Egg..." Said a familiar, graveled voice. "S'give me what I want."

"It's not that simple, Mister Cutler. You see... her presence has thrown a wrench in our plans." A sigh followed, Woe stepped to the side of the corner, but turned his ear toward the conversation so he couldn't miss a thing. "If we strike now, we risk pulling her into our business. We cannot afford such an enemy. You must be patien..."

"Fuck patience. Waited long enough, spilled enough beans to fill a silo. I'm after 'im. With or without you and your rockless boys."

"Suit yourself." Said the unknown voice, and they were gone from earshot, almost too quickly. Woe tried to listen to the sound of their footfalls, but they were either too soft, or nonexistent.

Woe could hear Fleaface's ragged breathing as he spat and cursed. He'd know that voice anywhere. He'd worked with Fleaface extensively through the years, during Woe's darker arcs, when he wasn't in such an upstanding position. Had Fleaface turned his past with Woe into a weapon? It was entirely possible, even plausible. He didn't think the Webspinners had anything to do with this, however. Their schemes were far reaching, not the sort that would concern themselves with temporary grudges. No, Fleaface was about this on his own, if anything. And the conversation suggested he'd tried to find allies, allies in Egilrun.

This learned, Woe couldn't let Fleaface continue to cast a pall over Woe's life. He had too much to protect now, and his influence wasn't expansive enough to ensure safety of everything and everyone important to him. It would come, but he had to be patient. Yet patience it seemed would have to give way to urgency, as Fleaface had entered the picture and was apparently setting traps all along the way. He couldn't be allowed to coninue.

Woe stepped out from the alleyway, and confronted Fleaface, his shadow growing long in the Cylus moonlight, as it fell over Fleaface.

"Fuck my luck." Fleaface spat, and grinned. He hefted a battleaxe that hung from his belt, and a roundshield that hung from his side. "Didn't even have tah break a sweat t'find yer. Chrien's sagging nips, I've waited a long time for this."

There was no more use for words on this creature. Woe was determined not to waste them. The darkness coalesced around him, and he summoned a longknife to his left hand, and a whip to his right. Fleaface saw them before Woe had a chance to thrash out, and caught the whip's lash against his shield as he ran, rushing forward.

Pirates!

The Slit Throat was taken care of and, as the magic stopped so too was Falcon. It was now just the Wicked Reaver.

The two Kaldvinds - the original and the clone, attacked the ship in a co-ordinated manner. From either side, ripping and tearing at sails and wood, they ripped into the ship, icing up the wood and then breaking it (or trying to) to literally rip the ship apart. They used their extraordinarily strong biteAn upgrade for the Kaldvinds fangs, this power massively increases the bite strength of the Kaldvind, allowing them to chew through even steel with relative ease. On harder substances, the Kaldvind can still do damage with their bite, but they may not be able to get completely through the substance. Once this power is acquired, the Kaldvinds fangs take on a fractal, crystaline appearance. and powerful clawsAn upgrade for the Kaldvinds claws, this power lets the Kaldvind send off shockwaves of sharp, freezing wind from their claws to attack their prey or enemies. This ability gives the Kaldvind's claws a sleeker, almost windswept sheen, as if they had been polished by the wind itself.

Also, they beat their wingsA power that upgrades the Kaldvinds wings, this power allows the Kaldvind emit a gust of frozen wind from the beat of their wings, freezing anything non-organic and dropping the temperature of living things immensely. In colder climes this can cause hypothermia in living things. The Kaldvinds wings gain a coat of ice when this power is gained. and used their enhanced tails This power works as an upgrade for the Bearer's Kaldvind, allowing the lesser dragon to sink their tail blade into the ground or into water, causing the ground or water to freeze solid for up to a 10 foot diameter around the Kaldvind. Kaldvind can use this at will or be ordered to by their rider, and they are very good at making clever use of this power if left to their own devices. Kaldvind who have this power have their tail blades start to have a light blue glow from within their tails. to the best of their abilities. Faith did not direct the Kaldvinds in specifics, because she knew that the best thing to do was to let them attack and thus they did. Tails and teeth and wings and claws all worked together to rip the vessel apart.

Faith was aware, of course, of Woe and where he was and what he was doing. It seemed now, having lingered on the Wicked Reaver for whatever reason - and if she was honest, she didn't really understand what his thinking had been there - now he was fighting someone else. Was this someone connected to the pirate lords? Faith didn't know but what she did know was that this was fundamentally her against this ship and she wasn't sure that she had enough to deal with it.

Famula's tear had taken all the magic, and that was good because it meant that no magical items worked either, but that didn't stop the Wicket Reaver from flying in the air and it didn't stop the teleporting person from doing just that. So, she had three issues and there was one of her. The Kaldvinds were attacking the Wicked Reaver, but Faith wasn't sure that this would be enough. Also, there was the teleporting person and, finally, there was the new ship.

Faith chose to focus on the person teleporting. Rightly or wrongly, she felt that it was important to do so. Therefore, as he appeared she tried something. Not sure that it would work, but hopeful that it would, she encased him in a crystal prisonA power designed to immobilize a foe without harming them, this power allows the Bearer to encase a single target in a large crystal. The crystal will keep the target alive while they are contained, but they can't move or be moved in this state. Only one such prison can be made at a time, and if the crystal is destroyed, it will free whoever is imprisoned in the crystal. Consuming the crystal counts as breaking it.

And, as she did, Faith lifted on her own wings A power that drastically alters the appearance of the Bearer, this power gives the Bearer the same wings as a Kaldvind, with all the powers a Kaldvinds wings have, whether natural or those gained from Effigy. These wings also give the Bearer the ability to fly and sprout from the Bearer's back, even if they already have wings from another source. If the Bearer already has wings from another source on their back, the Winter Wings will merge with these already existing wings. The wings can fold in at the Bearer's will. and as quickly as she could ` moved to within range of the Reaver. There, she would breathe out using the breath powerA power allows the Bearer to alter the properties of their Breath power. While this power is active, the Bearer can breath out hibernation inducing stream of cold air. Anyone caught in this stream for more than a minute will fall into a hibernative state that can last for up to six hours. As usual with hibernation powers, those in this state can be awoken if they are injured. which seemed most appropriate.

Fleaface slammed his roundshield forward, as the whip cracked against its surface, then rebounded and tried to snake around the large obstacle. The whip couldn't quite make it around the rim in spite of Woe's attempt.

He summoned a lesser, shorter cracking crop to his left hand, and used the apex of its movement to intercept the axe of Fleaface, sending it whirling backward. Fleaface had to regain his footing, as he wans't expecting so much force from a flogging.

"Picked up a few tricks." Fleaface muttered with a smirk beneath his beard.

Not a word from Woe, but a fleck of his wrist sent the main whip over Fleaface's shield. It had the intended effect of making the etzori charlatan raise his shield in defense and thus blocking his vision. Then he swept low with the other whip, cracking it against his ankle with the force of a bludgeoning implement.

Fleaface cursed, but his ankle didn't buckle. He was made of stern stuff, perhaps tougher than Woe even remembered.

Yet as Woe opened his guard by engaging two attacks at once, Fleaface pushed forward with his shield, pressing it toward Woe's dominant hand. They collided with a thump, a roll, and crashing against the debris of the alleyway.

Woe dismissed his whips, and opted for something a little more stable, precise, and more to the point, personal. To his hand a longknife appeared, while the other grappled now with a shadowy buckler.

With a bit of an extra roll,he got free of Fleaface's attempt to grapple him on the ground, and brougth his buckler up... just in time to intercept a flying hatchet which Fleaface had drawn from behind the shield.

The hatchet rebounded from the buckler, yet Woe was too struck by the suddeness of the throw to recover his footing. Fleaface took advantage of the opening, and Woe's distance to toss another, this one collided with his right shoulder, biting into his padded leather armor, cutting into it.

Woe was too into his battle-mode to notice the pain of the cut, much less have an accurate assessment of the damage. He could still hold his longknife, and so he lunged forward.

Fleaface easily deflected his attempts to get past his guard, but Woe kept moving on him, not letting him gain ground.

Woe brought his hands together, protecting both of them with the buckler while he tried prying past the roundshield. Yet nothing seemed to get past.

The mortalborn experienced a moment of doubt, doubt in his ability to overcome Fleaface. Then he remembered his power, he could put him to rout, and then run him through easily. Woe's mouth opened, and he drew in breath...

Thud

Fleaface rammed the rim of his shield into Woe's throat. However the compromise of defense for disabling the mortalborn's breath weapon allowed Woe to sink his knife into Fleaface's axe-arm. He dropped his hatchet.

It was all little and late for Woe. His knife disappeared as he felt the jolting bash against his throat, taking his breath away. Fleaface struck at the advantage, and pushed him agains the wall.

"Heard about your bit of bad breath, from the crawlers in that cave in Old Dynaash. Tsk tsk. Something really scared them feirce, then I realized..." Fleaface smirked as he held Woe against the wall. Woe's arms were pinned effectively by the shield combined with Fleaface's strength, which was comparable to his own.

"But now, I've done my bit of work. Oh no, wouldn't dream of killing ya." Fleaface smirked. "Just business, you understand."

Woe struggled beneath the shield, and tried to kick but Fleaface was dominating the space, even as he monologued.

"See... I'm here to send a message." Fleaface grinned, and held his bleeding hand up for Woe to see. There beneath the hand, a cloth of some description. "Not poison, but some nasty fractive, disease shit that some kook in Rhakros brewed up. This'll smart a bit..."

He smeared the corrosive and diseased material across Woe's left side of his face, which tore a hellish wound across his cheek and below his eye. The flesh bubbled, and pain was unbearable. Woe thought he understood torture, but never had he heard of a substance that could melt flesh, bubbling it like so much soft cheese.

Fleaface only relented when he felt the strength sap from Woe's body, and then let him fall to the ground.

"We'll meet again perhaps. Till then, enjoy the makeover."

So saying, Fleaface tapped his shoes together, using a set of portal shoes to bring himself back wherever he considered home.

Woe slumped in the alleyway, losing consciousness.

Re: To Heir is Mortalborn, To Forget is Human

Pirates!

Things were going according to plan, as far as Faith could tell. in the big picture. But little picture was going to the Beneath in a basket.. The Falcon hit the ground, hard, and those that survived were more concerned with PB than with anything else. That was good. The Wicked Reaver was getting badly damaged and Faith's eyes narrowed slightly as she saw that the crystal she had encased that slippery individual in teleported.

But then, her sharp eyes caught sight of the dagger that dropped from his hand and, without hesitation, Faith flew over to that dagger. It seemed like something that a grown up should have responsibility for, Faith thought, and a member of the good guys, most certainly. She continued to use her hibernation breath power and she landed on the deck and kept her eyes and ears open.

Through her contact with Woe, Faith knew what was happening for him, but as he was fighting, Faith wasn't prepared to wait around here for too long. She needed to make sure that everyone was as negated as they needed to be.

"How is he?" Faith asked and Shule told her what was happening. Faith frowned and she bent and picked up the dagger, then continued with the hibernating breath power until she was sure that the Wicked Reaver was thoroughly taken care of. She couldn't be long, she knew, because there was that other ship and whatever else was happening, she needed to make sure that everyone was alright. But Woe was one of those everyone's and so, dropping the dagger into her belt, Faith flew to where Woe was, leaving her Kaldvind and the clone to finish off the Reaver.

Once she got there, she would kneel next to him, trying to ascertain what the heck had happened. Using her Moseke-granted power to heal him the best she couldSimilar to Sevrath's Will, the user is capable of focusing divine energy into a major injury (lost limbs, deep cuts, large puncture wounds, etc.) and coax the cells into healing. This ability requires a few events to "convince" the cells to heal quickly. This ability does not weaken the character as another, more powerful healing ability would. When this ability is in use, a pale green/yellow light emits from the character's skin like a mist and is focused towards the palms and fingers where it is released upon contact of another individual's flesh. Multiple uses of this ability for long periods of time will cause headaches, fatigue, and nosebleeds. "Can you hear me?" Faith asked him. Kneeling next to him, she looked at his wounds and she frowned. Whoever had done this had targeted Woe specifically, there was no doubt. Was this the reason for these attacks? Her healing would - she hoped - counter the scarring on his face but it was corroding in front of her and she didn't know if her healing would be enough.

"Don't move, try not to move." Faith whispered and she did everything she could to make him comfortable. She would have to linger here a moment or two, she knew, because if she didn't then he would be very badly scarred and possibly worse than that. Then, she'd go and meet the oncoming ship - she kept her eye on what was happening there via PB.

Re: To Heir is Mortalborn, To Forget is Human

Epilogue and Review
Later in the day, after the clean-up was done and the cost had been counted, a figure stood on the beach, surrounded by ghosts. None of the living could see them, of course, nor could they see him. Faith's assassin was dead, after all. But he had rejected judgement after his death. After all, he had killed a Champion of Vri, the Immortal of Death himself. He knew better than to risk that judgement. Besides, Sintra would surely reward him, even as a ghost, for his achievement. He was quite smug in having dodged the consequences for his actions. Well, besides having been eaten by an flying ice lizard. That had been rather less than pleasant after all. Then he noticed the ghosts around him were...running? No, they were fleeing.

Before he could see what was terrifying them so, the assassin screamed in surprise and pain as he felt burning chains wrap around him and he was turned to face someone new. A woman in black armor with a red cloak, with white hair and red eyes, standing atop a chariot of souls. The assassin paled in fear, realizing that he had forgotten that Faith had, first and foremost, been associated with Famula, the Immortal of Souls. Famula, who was the sole master of the Beneath he was now a resident of. Famula, who was very clearly furious with him. "Who sent you?" the Immortal asked. The assassin, still believing in Sintra's dominance, defiantly closed his mouth and shook his head.

Famula sighed and raised her lantern, the door opening of its own accord. "Very well. You'll tell me in time, as all others in your position have. After all, I can afford to be patient." she said, as the chains pulled the assassin into the lantern. In the lantern, in a seemingly endless inferno of souls, the assassin found that he couldn't even lose himself. His individuality, his identity, all were locked into place to keep him from descending into a mindless ghost as he burned. Burned until he would, eventually, tell Famula what she wanted to know. Satisfied for the time being, Famula closed her lantern. Faith was not someone that would have sought vengeance, even for her own death, and perhaps she'd have been disappointed in Famula over this. But the Jailer of Souls wasn't nearly as forgiving as her Champion had been, and she would not let this murder of her friend and follower go unpunished.

Woe

Well, you were certainly getting all over the place with your powers. Good job alerting the elements at the start, or else there'd have been trouble for Egilrun at the end of the thread.
