I just wanted to let you know that Sir Chip an me went hunting last nigte, wile Arlo was setting up our camp in Hopetoun. We brawt back qwite a few things. They were.
1. Five birds we caugt. We've called it an etch-wing. Its really hard to see, because it looks like an outline. But when we killed it, we found that its fethers turn all sorts of colours. Theyre well pretty.
2. Some bark and sap from a tree. This is the wood you all have got growing around here.
3. Another bird - a big turkey lookig thing.
We've braught them back and I was wondering if its ok if
1. I go out with the next hunting party to show them the etchwing and big turkey bird. The etchwing is hard to spot, so we'll need to lure it. The turkey-bird is much easier, but they nest up trees, so might be missed.
2. I start making arrows with this wood and the etchwing feathers? Me and my papa both make arrows and I thought that we could have a sort of "Hopetoun Arrows" - the coloured feathers of the etchwings will be well nice. If we can get enough, then you could sell them for supplies and equipment for the place?
Arlo has been helping Selena and he says that the two of them can make about 12 servings per bird from the etchwing and double that from the "kazenfowl" thing (the turkey looking bird).

I'm writin to say that Im sorry if it's any trouble. I honestly thought it wasnt something that mite be even be possible, and I shurley woodnt have thought it would happen now. But I have to let you know. So. Short vershun is that I'm pregnant. Far as I can tell Im dew in Vhalar, but I dont know for sure. I have no idea how to do this and have no experience. But I want to stay here, if you dont mind. Dont go getting emoshuns or anything, but my mama died in child birth because she was on a boat, just her and my papa and she went into laboring for me and they needed medics and there were none. So I'd rather not get on a boat. But if you want me to leaf, then I will of course. Im sure that we can be helpful if we can stay though, and Im happy to be here. I'm right sorry to keep writin to you but I thought you should know. My friend has asked me to look after his son, Wren. Wren's a young boy who's been through a lot. He's my responsibility because his father is my friend. But he's been through a lot and I want to give him a job and I want to teach him.
So, I thought I'd work with him on making an archway, an entrance for Hopetoun - that we'll put where the docks goes, when the docks gets made. And on that arch, I'd like to make carvings what tell the story of Hopetoun. Wren is a serious boy, but he'd appreshiate a chance to be useful I think. So, I'd like to ask him to interview people, includin you. Then, I'd like to ask him to help me design those carvings. I think it's called a freeze?
What do you think? It wood mean that he's going to talk to people, and ask questions. He's sad and he's missing his people and I'd like to focus on hope, and the story of Hopetoun is just that.

Well, he's had an idea (1) and I've got a question for you (2).
1. Wren said that the entrance to Hopetoun should have a map. When me and Wren come and talk to you about it, please make sure to be real pleased with that bit. Thanks.
2. I asked Sir Chip - and he said he can get a Yellow Dragon Tree and grow it in Hopetoun if you want. So long as you don't chop it all down, but grow it responsibly and things, he'd be happy to. Would you like that? Please let Sir Chip know, if so.

Two things have happened, and you knead to now about them both.
1. My friend, Doran, has arrived. He's a proffessor in Viden and he's a good man. You know him, I think. He came to ask me about some stuff for some research he's doing.
2. While he was talking with me, Xiur the Immortal came. I know it was him, I've seen him five or six times now. He told us that he senses something. That there's a ship-load of people inbound from Rharne who were slaves and now got freed. They're coming to Hopetoun, Darius. He wants me and Doran to build a Beacon what can shine through the Dusk and Clouds and stuff. Because in a few days, when they're coming, something will cause a fog which obscures Faldrass' shores. He said it would be because of the sudden chill.
Then he said he'd see us, that we should look for him in about thirty trials.
I need to do what Xiur has asked me, Darius. He's the Immortal of Hope and he says that by doing this we will bring hope to people what need it badly. So, I'm asking for yore help. Please, can this be soemthing the whole community does? We need to prepare, too, because people are coming and a lot of cold.

Have you ever negotiated with an owl before? I never thought I'd be able to say that I had. Just this past trial, I was visited by a professor from the Academy and we negotiated terms to set up a research station in the settlement. All things considered it was a rather profitable agreement. They've begun looking into the clams and berry plant Elisabeth found while exploring the land but I have roughly four other scholars who need things to look into. I'm writing to offer you and your settlement the opportunity to share in this scientific study. Should you come across anything you think is unique that you lack the resources or means to study on your own, I'd be glad to pass it along to the research center to see if there is anything they could find that we might have missed.
In other news one of the researchers, a boy named Myran, is fascinated by rumors of tigers made of pure flame. I have yet to see one but it might be worth keeping an eye out for. Maybe put a little focus into fireproofing if you haven't already? In my experience with strange creatures if there is one, there are probably more like it. If you do see anything like it, let me know and I might be able to send help.

Defiance: Skin always glows faintly and he is warm to the touch. His is also the center of a field of static electricity so people get shocked touching him on occasion. Rupturing: Orange etheric cracks spider-web up his arms to his elbows. His eyes and the glowing cracks going down his cheeks glow dark blue. Transmutation: He has a series of emerald, glowing cracks on his right pectoral.

Bellinos: His fingernails are always black. The color fades into his fingers. Celarion: A dim glowing ring surrounds his left forearm. Palenon: A silver lightning shaped mark about the size of a hand stretching up towards his torso.
Scars
Oops, Oops, Ouch: Balthazar Black has twenty scars across his back from a lashing as well as scars on his hands and arms from jagged rocks on Faldrass. There are two scars on the sides of his abdomen from being stabbed and a slash across his back which blends in with the whip scars.

Hello! It's been some time since we wrote each other, so I thought I'd update you on the current issue of things. For one, Vega and her clan and I have built a great fence around the Oasis and the Orchard. It will continue to grow out and acquire new plant samples as I find them and add them into the mix. It's been a great privilege to help out in Hopetoun, and I hope I don't overstay my welcome for all the works I've embarked upon here. I've also planted an Orchard, for which the trees have already begun bearing fruit! And with my patron Ashan's blessing they will continue to grow at an exorbitant rate.
There are other additions besides these, but I wanted to mention the ones that I've had a bigger hand in the making of.
I just wanted to invite you to look at all we've done while you've been busy being Baron. Perhaps next cycle you'll find time in your schedule to take a look around and tour the changes that are rapidly occurring!

It is wonderful to hear from you. I completely understand I apologies that I have taken the chance to write sooner. Things here have been rather busy since the end of the war. It’s a bit odd, one would think with the war over life would just return to normal but no there are so many things to clean up.
I am glad that you have found a project and have the chance to help the people of Hopetoun build their settlement. I would love to hear more about it as it progresses.
Now to the pressing issues. I have meet Arlo a few times but no I am not overly familiar with him. Vega on the other hand I know very well and count her as a close friend. On multiple occasions the two of use fought together against the flame born.
I am ecstatic to hear that they are expecting. So my recommendation for a midwife would be, me. Given how close we became I couldn’t not come and help support my friend especially in a area where I can help. That being said I hope and assume Vega will also send me a letter (though it might be the normal way). I will let her know in a letter directly to her. So please allow me to tell her and also for your sake don’t tell her you told her news.
I will also send an echo scroll to Vega so she can ask me any questions she has.
I will see if there is anyone local who can be used as a back up until I come next season.

I was happy to hear from Vega that Hopetoun is doing well and I am planning on visiting on the 25th of Ashan. The visit will only be for the trial, unfortunately.
