Nashaki Trade Academy
For many arcs, the Council of Nashaki has discussed the merit of establishing a school or institute like in Viden, Rynmere, Scalvoris, or even Etzos. As of the first of Vhalar in Arc 720, the Nashaki Trade Academy opened its doors for the first time. Separate from the other schools, the academy focuses on a different type of schooling than research-based academia. The aggregation of multiple apprenticeships and similar through-out Nashaki, the Trade Academy offers short-term programs to prepare students to enter apprenticeship and jobs in trade-based industries, to teach vocational service skills, and to advance the craftsmanship of tradesfolk.
While more classical programs like Business and Math can be found at the Trade Academy, these type of courses are purely supplementary and often focus on practical industry application of such skills rather than theoretical research or anything requiring a thesis.
Located in the South Districts, specifically in the Arms District, the Trade Academy often overlaps with those enlisted to the Nashaki military. It is common to know people who do both, serve in the military and attend the Trade Academy in hope to gain an apprenticeship that might offer more than the life of an infantry soldier. As such, the Trade Academy is fairly well-protected and soldiers are commonly seen on and around the campus, both on-duty and off-duty.
Due to the new nature of the Trade Academy, and the focus on practical skills, there is a range of financial support options to help those who wish to attend, do so. One need only visit the Support Office on the main floor of the Academy and speak with a counselor there, in order to explore their options (see list below). Nashaki is so open to people learning at the Academy that they even make waivers for slaves to attend programs, on the requirement that their master gives signatory permission in person during the sign-up process and is kept informed of the slave's progress. This is so that those in the trades industry who have bought slaves can send them to be more valuable for their business.
Focused on trades and craftsmanship as much as the Trade Academy is, there are a great many workshops and tool/supply libraries. The libraries in the Nashaki Trade Academy are unlike most libraries, in that what fills the shelves are manuals, diagrams, blueprints, construction designs, textile plans, technical journals, and so on. These libraries are not a place to find theory or discussions about anything unrelated to a practical craft.
The Towers of Nashaki also keep a presence in the Academy, and it is said that there are undercover recruiters who walk the halls and attend courses specifically to find possible candidates to invite to be part of the towers.
Thanks to a certain group from the Tower of Flesh, there is also an Arts department included but it is specifically meant for professional means into performance and entertainment jobs, or to bolster the practical skills of a craftsman (such as a smith also taking a course in design to help the look of his creations).
