When Faith gave her answer to Kura's question, Kura nodded. "Exactly. The Immortals are limited in their own ways, locked into what they are and are not. And that limitation has defined so much of the world that people just accept at something that has always been and always will be, even in cases where that isn't true. For instance, to many, Karem has always been Raskalarn's closest advisor, but that's fairly recent, using an Immortals definition of "recent"." she said, shaking her head. "But still, those limitations are...unappealing. For that, and for...other reasons, I honestly have no plans of ever ascending beyond being Mortalborn. My own Domains grant me power, but they do not define me, and I honestly prefer it that way." she said, her tone serious.
She laughed when Faith asked her to take it easy, then nodded. "Oh, I plan to spend the rest of our time in Desnind completely relaxed. No ability uses, no politics, no troubles, nothing. Just...peace and calm." she said, grinning slightly. Her grin widened when Faith asked Cally if she thought that Kura would listen, but the ghost just laughed and shook her head.
"Oh, I'm fine now, but I was worried when she fainted, yeah. Not like her to be doin' that for no reason, after all." the ghost said, grinning. When Faith brought up how they always seemed to find strange and dangerous things, though, Cally just shrugged. "Of course we don't get much quiet time. She's a Mortalborn and Blessed besides, you've got enough Blessin's that I wouldn't be surprised if you spontaneously developed Domains of your own, Pad's all sciencey and scholarly and that always brings in weirdness, and you're all spendin' time with dead people and hearin' animal voices such. Folk like us, we aren't made for havin' quiet time, we're for makin' sure that those folk who can't be bearin' the world on their shoulders can be livin' without fear." the ghost said, her cheerful.
