It seemed like Vega was accepting his offer to be his squire. Kisaik nearly jumped for joy, but his knees complained with the effort, so stiff they were. He needed a nice frothy drink! And this feast they were having sounded like just the thing to refresh him. Not that the oasis water was all that bad either, but he could only imagine how good a beer would taste right about now.
"Hooray! I'll be pleased to tell you all you need to know about being a knight then, and if you need anything just call me." Kisaik smiled broadly at Vega.
Then, she ventured to say what she thought of his explanation of knighthood. Kisaik had to scratch his chin, "Well I believe that's what it's all about. It's my pleasure to help people of all kinds! Being a knight is great and exciting. I wouldn't trade it for anything."
That said, he nodded to himself, resolved in his status as a knight. Yet even as a knight, he sometimes got a little astray from folks. He perhaps could use more like-minded individuals to join his cause. Then, she told him about the hedge knights she'd stumbled upon. The young man feeling poorly, that Kisaik had every reason to believe that Vega had helped in some manner to feel better.
Kisaik nodded to her, "Then I will meet them post-haste, after the feast! If they are still around, anyway?"
That said, Kisaik began blinking to the side of Vega, and pointed for her to lead the way. "Let's be off then, we have a Feast to attend!"

Notes:
This was an absolutely delightful collaboration! Start to finish, it was beautifully written.
Kis, in my opinion, brings out a lightness in Vega that is very apparent. When Vega told him that he brings hope to her, it was very special and meaningful.
Vega was glowing through this whole piece, and it was very evident how happy she is to be in Hopetoun and part of what they are creating there. It's wonderful to see that pc so happy after the events of the past several seasons. That happiness flowed gracefully through the words you wrote.
Npcs galore in this piece, and they each added their own nuisance to the overall feel. Great Grandpa is a grumpy dude, but delightfully so. Kis' parents were a wonderful surprise, as was his former squire and Angus! I know I've complimented you both before, but I continue to feel the need to say that I adore the way you include npcs, but don't allow them to overtake the pcs or the core of the thread. Npcs are meant to enhance, and I thought the writing/response of and to them was excellent.
The true beauty of this piece, to me, was Kis and Vega speaking on what it meant to be a squire and knight. I've reviewed Kis before a few times, but I feel like I know him better now through reading this. Kis is light and Vega recognizes that. They have such a wonderful relationship and you two write it exquisitely in these exchanges, full of emotion and consideration. I feel as though Kis and Vega truly respect and value each other.
Beautiful work. I very much enjoyed reading this thread. (And I enjoyed the reference to Vega's incident with the superior officer in Rharne!)
In addition, I would like to nominate you both for the following medal:
Scandalous - Awarded for outstanding plots
For this thread, and your past development of your pcs during the previous and current cycles on Faldrass. Both of you have continued to develop plots that enrich not only your pcs, but those around your pcs. This, in my opinion, deserves recognition. Well done to you both!
Please link back to this review when putting in for your shiny new medals!
