Appearance

Ezner is a man of a shorter stature, standing at 5'8", touched by golden skin. He has short, brown hair, often kept messy if allowed to grow out, otherwise closely cropped. His dark brown eyes are near black. His nose shows signs of having been broken a few times and reset poorly. His face is usually clean shaven, albeit poorly so. He's usually wearing a simple shirt and slacks, with a preference for blues and browns, provided by his owners. He has a tattoo of a squid on the back of his neck, a sigil placed on him by his first owner, and is used in the identifying and trade of Ezner.

Ezner is a quiet, submissive man, raised as such having been born a slave. He is obedient and unquestioning to whoever is his master. To everyone other than his master, he behaves how his master expects him to behave.

History

Ezner was born in Scalvoris to a woman named Lynida. Lynida was a slave, stolen away from the beaches near Desnind by a pirate crew. The captain took her as his personal slave, and when the ship returned to Scalvoris, Lynida was pregnant with Ezner. The pirate gave Lynida to his wife, and Lynida became a domestic servant to the woman. The pirate's wife bore no ill will to the slave her husband had impregnated, for she was happy to have a creature of such profitability and convenience.

When Ezner was born, he was raised in the house as a chore slave. He learned to clean the house, cook, bath the tenets, etc. As he grew older, he began to run errands through Almund for the pirate's wife. Being Almund, Ezner was often attacked by street urchins and other children, in the hopes to steal something valuable from him. This taught him many lessons in navigating the city and how to survive on the streets.

When Ezner turned 10, they received word that the pirate's ship had been sunk. And so, with no stable income, the pirate's wife sold Ezner to a merchant as a domestic slave for his trade caravan. Thus began Ezner's journey around Idalos. He was sold four times before he became an adult. In the last decade, he has been bodyguard and fighting slave to a tobacco merchant named Jethro Dey. They've most recently arrived to the merchant's hometown of Rharne.
